Chapter Text
"I don't know Jay, I don't think this is a very good idea, what if Bruce finds out"
"Oh don't be a pussy, we're just going for a small joy ride, B will never find out"
Dick shifted nervously in the passenger seat of their pseudo fathers Rolls Royse the two brothers had taken.
"Do you even know how to drive?" Dick questioned his older brother, looking back and forth from the entrance of the garage then back to Jason.
"Of course I know how to drive, and even if I didn't it couldn't be that hard" the older said cockily as he pushed the key into the ignition.
"But you don't even have your permit yet, we could get arrested if the cops catch us!" The 13-year-old practically yelled at his brother as he started the car.
"Permit shmermit, who needs those anyways, and stop worrying so much, you're killing my vibe, we're not gonna get caught so calm your tits dickie-bird" Jason said dismissing his brothers words with a wave.
Dick just shrank into his seat, having given up on trying to deter his brother from this obviously foolish idea.
Jason wore a victorious smirk as he pulled out from the garage and onto the abnormally long driveway.
He wasn't to worried about getting caught as the rest of the Wayne manor residents were all currently out.
It was summer so all the kids were on break from school.
Tim was out with the titans, he had been hanging out with them alot, more recently.
Bruce was in a conference meeting at Wayne Enterprises that should last a few more hours.
Alfred was out grocery shopping, and everyone knew it was a long trip so he would be gone for 4 hours at Most.
And Damian? He was only God knows where.
That left the two youngest boys alone in the manor.
Of course, Alfred was against the idea of leaving the two alone unsupervised, but after some heavy reassurance that the two would not burn the house down and two sets of puppy dog eyes, he reluctantly agreed.
Big mistake…
Now that led to what was going on now, Jason in the front seat of one of Bruce's many expensive cars pulling out of the gated driveway and Dick in the passenger seat, looking like he wanted it to swallow him whole.
The two sat in silence as they existed onto the main road, the silence only being broken when Jason turned on the radio to whatever station came on first.
Although Jason, having little to no experience with driving, was doing quite well, pulling around cars carefully and navigating the roads of Gotham like an expert.
Dick being slightly more relaxed now that they had been driving for a few minutes (having yet to hit anyone or anything) began tapping his finger against the car door to the beat of the song playing.
Jason, noticing this turned the volume up a few notches, nodding his head to the song as well.
A small smirk made its way onto the 15 year-olds face as he pushed the gas pedal down, accelerating the car's speed.
Dick let out a squeak of surprise and gripped tightly onto the seat belt, as if he'd let go he'd fly out of the car.
Jason let out a cackle as he saw his brothers reaction, accelerating the cars speed more, turning up the radio while doing so.
"J-Jason slow down!" Dick frantically cried to his brother.
"Haha, no way in hell! Don't be such a wuss dickie, loosen up!" The 15-year-old was smiling wildly as he sped past the other cars, weaving his way through traffic.
"Jason please, slow down! I want to get out!" Dick tried to yell over the music, but it fell on deaf ears.
The older cackled wildly, swerving the car in a way to frighten his little brother.
So caught up in his glee, Jason failed to notice the red light ahead and the herd of oncoming cars.
The impact hit before realization…
"Uhgg" the world was blurring around him, colors and shapes merging together into bright blobs.
Jason let out a groan as he attempted to lift his head, a sharp pain shooting through it at the movement, a wave of nausea washing over him, the telltale sign of a concussion.
The muted sounds of people screaming and car horns in the distance fell upon deaf ears as the back-haired male tried to survey his surroundings.
The glass from the windshield was completely shattered, now only jagged pieces of glass left in its place.
Shards of glass were atop the dashboard and on the floor and seats, crunching underneath Jason's shoes.
The airbag pushed Jason up against his seat, restricting his breathing and further crushing his probably cracked ribs.
Blood was splattered across the dashboard and windows, leaving a bloody masterpiece in its wake.
He wiggled his fingers slightly, making sure there was still movement in them, a sharp pain shot through his left arm, which was jammed in between his body and the car door, but other than that they still moved.
He could see shards of glass sticking obscenely out of his skin but he couldn't worry about that now.
Because he had just been in a car accident…
A car accident with Bruce's car…
A car accident that had been his fault!
if only he had listened to Dick…
Wait…
Dick!
His little brother was in the car with him!
Ignoring the sheering pain that pounded through his head, Jason turned his head as quickly as he could (without risking further injury to it) to the passenger seat where his brother was.
Oh god…
There sat his brother, slumped in the seat unconscious, blood dripping freely down from a large gash on his head, staining his tan skin red.
His left leg was twisted at an odd angle, not broken but most definitely fractured, his right leg, oh god his right leg… was crushed in between the seat and the passenger door, most definitely broken if not shattered.
His right arm hung limply looking as if it was just about ready to fall out of its socket.
Chunks of glass stuck out of his skin, going from his face all the way to his thighs.
His airbag undployed, why hadn't it deployed?!
The truck that had T-boned them was crushed against the right side of the car, practically smushing the cars together.
Jason could see the driver from the passenger side window, they were unconscious, head pressed firmly against the wheel.
Their windshield cracked and broken in different sections.
Just seeing the wreck made Jason even more nauseous, forcing him to fight back the urge to puke all over himself.
Bringing his eyes back to his little brother, he noticed he could just barely see the rise and fall of his chest.
Panicking Jason reached his right arm towards his baby brothers left, reaching for his wrist.
Grabbing hold of it he searched for a pulse.
Jason almost cried for joy when he felt it.
Almost…
Because they were still crushed in the car, both injured, his brothers pulse weak, he couldn't celebrate, not now, not when everything could go to shit in litteral seconds.
He so desperately wanted to move, to grab his little brother in a tight protective hug, never letting him go, making sure that he was ok.
But Jason couldn't move, trapped in place by the airbag crushing his body.
They'd have to wait for EMT's to arrive to get them out, to rush his baby brother to a hospital and save him.
So he obliged to sit and wait… still gripping his brothers limp wrist, watching the barely visible up and down of Dicks chest.
His vision began to swim, fog clouding the once clear image of his brother.
He tried to stay awake, he really did! But his concussion must have been worse than he thought.
Slowly he began to fade out of consciousness.
The sirens of police and ambulances could be heard in the distance, Jason, being so out of it, almost missed them.
Smiling at his little brother he let out a choked and quiet "don't worry dickie bird we'll be ok, help is here…"
Doctors and firemen began rushing to the crash site, screaming out orders to each other whilst trying to pry the two cars apart so they could get to the occupants.
Jason's head lay limply against the airbag, eyes now closed, hand still loosely gripping his little brother's…
