Chapter Text
The 'room' that he had decided to hide in was in fact not a room at all. But with a being of his stature how was he to know that? He was just so tired when he decided on his hiding place. And now it was in movement. A lot of movement at that. The deep swaying caused a feeling of sharp nausea to settle in his stomach. But still, he kept as quiet as he could. Any noise could alert one of them and that would spell his death. So with rolling stomach and baited breath he waited, not having an easy way of escaping his sanctuary turned prison.
"Are we there yet?" a large voice whined causing him to flinch. He quickly put two and two together to figure out the canvas cage was in fact a bag of sorts with a dingy zipper keeping him trapped inside. He didn't catch the reply to the question over the pounding of his own heart. He looked around the bag considering his limited options of better cover in case the bag were to open. Some clothing, a rainbow box of crayons, a orange bottle of some kind of medicine were mostly what met his gaze. But there was one thing he could in fact use and use well. A stuffed animal of an odd white and pink....bird? There was a small hole near the plushie's arm, a hole that if widened he could easily slip inside the mixed faux covering. Using the sharp discarded exacto blade he had brought with him when he chose this place to hide inside, he sawed at the stitching. Sliding inside was a bit tight and the flat of the blade rested against his leg in a gentle threat, but at least now he was better covered from prying eyes. A loud click made him freeze.
The bag lurched forward as the owner gave a shriek of excitement that rattled his bones. The noise started to become almost oppressive. There were loud voices carrying out loud conversations all around him. Something nearby slammed shut causing him to almost jump.
"Let's go! Hurry up!" shouted the bag's owner as they shifted his prison violently. They were moving now. The noise became worse and worse and the gait of the human became erratic in mere moments. One heartbeat. Shouting. Two heartbeats. The plush fell over. Three heartbeats. It got cold. Four...
"Welcome to the Fazbear MegaPizzaPlex," a monotone inhuman voice greeted, "Please present passes." His heart almost stopped. He wasn't in the apartment complex his extended family called their own anymore! And what was a pizzamegafazplex? It was so loud. Screaming kids. Yelling adults. And the sharp sound of rubber on tile. He was moving again.
"Bye mommy!" shouted the bag's owner as they shifted to sit. As the mother said her own parting words, it felt as if the world fell out from under his small frame. The plush bounced around mercilessly as the child holding it went down the slide and into the Daycare that watched them while their mother went to work.
"Hello Mary! My my my you are a few minutes late today!" a piercingly loud robotic voice cheered as the human was lifted from the ballpit.
"There were a lot of cars Mr. Sun!" giggled the girl. The robot tutted.
"Well you made it! Let me take your bag now and you go play!" The bag was transferred to the robot without fuss. The robot's gait was somehow worse than the child's. But as soon as the jarring skipping motion got to him, all movement stopped. The zipper was tugged open. From the hole he entered the plush in he saw the robot. Off white eyes with barely made out clear white pupils scanned the bag. A large round smiling yellow and cream face filled his vision.
"I know I know Moony I'm getting her meds....now?" the robot spoke in a hushed manner without opening their mouth. But they never reached for the bottle. Instead their pale gaze was fixed on the plush.
"Are my optics working correctly?" the robot mused, "That is a living signature in the Chica? Right? Right?" The click of plastic eyelids refocusing their gaze broke the small borrower from his trance. He struggled against stuffing as a long fingered hand slowly entered his space. It wrapped around the plush tightly, keeping him from escaping but still leaving room for him to breathe.
"Oh no no no Moony! There is something in Chica! What to do what to do what to DO!" the robot hissed in a voice dripping with anxiety. A pause as whatever 'Moony' was interrupted the yellow robot's panic.
"Yes yes no pets allowed in the Daycare! You're right Moony." The free hand grabbed the medicine and the robot stood.
"Wait..." the borrower meekly squeaked. But the robot either didn't pick up on his voice or he had been ignored. The colors of the Daycare and the running screaming sea of children made the walls of the plush seem to close around him. The robot's grip was steady as they walked up to a large desk.
"Here are Mary's meds!" the robot chirped handing a human worker the orange bottle. The worker took them and hid them behind the desk.
"Thank you Sundrop. Is there...something else?" the worker sounded unsure.
"Oh yes yes! Mary's plush has a hole in it! I have to fix Chica before naptime. Can you watch the little ones for a few shakes? Please? Pretty pretty pretty please?" the robot begged. Something inside the animatronic whirred to life and a strange breeze filtered in the armhole. The worker sighed with a slightly strained smile.
"Go do your thing Sundrop," the worker sighed waving the robot off. Sundrop quickly moved away and weaved a path through the hyper kids with ease. They muttered apologies to the children begging for their attention as they made their way towards a... wall? Something clicked loudly on the robot and they lifted into the air. The click happened again and the robot entered a dimly lit door-less room. The smell of dust and oil assailed his sensitive senses.
"Now what do we have here?" the robot muttered, "I hope it isn't another lizard. It took us ages to catch it. Remember that Moony?" The plush was split cleanly and easily causing the borrower to fall free from the confines of stuffing. He rolled into some kind of plastic container. Sundrop stood frozen with a sharp claw extending from their pointer finger.
"That is no lizard," they gasped, the odd rays adorning their head retracting sharply. The borrower was quick to brandish his exacto blade towards the immense figure of the robot in what he hoped was a threatening manner.
"Hey hey hey now!" Sundrop nervously laughed dropping the destroyed plush to raise their hands up into a peaceful posture, "There is no need for that new friend! We don't play with knives in the Daycare!"
"Friend? I don't...what are you even talking about?" snapped the young borrower, keeping the edge of the blade trained to Sundrop. Without a single noise, the robot suddenly appeared as close as the plastic would allow them to causing the borrower's will to falter for a moment.
"I'm Sundrop. Or Sun. Sunny. Whatever you want to call me new friend. Now what can I call you?" the animatronic softly said with a slow blink.
"Please don't..." begged the robot's captive. Sundrop's grin seemed to waver.
"That's a funny name new friend. But if that is what you want then Please Don't is what I'll call you." A heavy silence fell across the terrified borrower and the patient animatronic.
"...Needle." Sundrop's eyes lit up brightly and with a loud jingle of their bells the robot offered the borrow a friendly enough wave.
"Well now Needle! I have to get back to work but I am sure you won't mind staying put until closing riiiiiight?" Sundrop brightly stated rising back into a standing position, "Can't have you getting hurt or stepped on or all the other bad things that can happen! Moony wants to put a lid on you but I think you're smart enough to stay. I'll be baaaack!" With a flourish, Sundrop found a different Chica plushie and exited the room with their prize in hand. Needle watched with wide eyes as Sundrop all but vanished as they leaped from the balcony. Sinking to his knees, the borrower dropped his weapon and covered his eyes. Silently as if not to disturb the dingy room and its quiet, he broke into sobs.
