Prominent dark circles under the half-closed opaque, slighty red eyes and corner of lips twisted into a wan smile. The figure is now illuminated by the kitchen's lamp, letting visible how spending the night awake cannot do any good. There was no one to see, nevertheless, considering he was all alone at that time, makim himself some instant coffee. What a way to spend time when the sun decided to illuminate the opposite part of the globe. Sighed, serving himself a cup of that terrible substance.
Was there something to eat? The blue eyed man can feel his stomach willing to put everything out when he smelled the red mug's dark liquid.
The hand reached one of the wooden cabinets that rested against the wall, revealing cereal and cookies boxes. Oh, by the level of sugar, that was not his part of the kitchen. The researcher is sure that the owner will not care. After all, he is all alone.
Then he grabbed one of those insanely crunchy, sweet and chocolatey "Rainbow Cereal: special Charmander dipped in chocolate" box to decide that was a bad idea, it would be better for Goh to get a fruit or something.
However, the black haired male knows himself incredibly well to understand that it is been three weeks since the last time they did groceries. Strangely, three weeks earlier, the person he shares the house with was summoned to Johto. However, it is obvious that those phenonyms are not related at all.
As if Goh's while life decided to get out of trail all because of someone like Ash.
Oh, the place they used to spend a large amount of time reeks. He can feel it, not with the nosestrills, but his mind, enveloped in confused mist.
Arceus help him-
He is going crazy, out of his mind. The twenty-five years man, one of the most promising researchers, is desperate.
"Where in hell is Ash? He was supposed to come back yesterday."
The question came for the fiftieth time, as restless as the first. Goh could only enjoy the sugary venom and the feeling of gradually losing the sensitivity of his own taste buds everytime his hand reached for the box. He is sure that milk will not help the taste. And there is no milk anyways.
Watched the coffee lose it's heat little by little, until his eyes gave up. Body sitting down on the kitchen's table.
It has been several sunsets since Goh breathed relieved by finally seeing Charizard's tail waving in the air. And it will still be, since the researcher was sleeping at the exact moment that Ash and Pikachu came, to wake up when the door opened.
There was a slight orange light between the curtains, sinalizing the sun is finally coming back.
The trainer, after dealing with what looked like the end of Johto's region, had a sore back and tired body to take care of. Ketchum had to hold the yellow pokémon, avoiding to let him fall out of balance.
Rest. They will rest, thought the world champion, yawning towards the bedroom, stopping on his trails when the familiar clatter of slippers was present.
"Hey." It was obviously Goh, munching something he does not know. The labcoat denounced that his boyfriend was not taking a late snack, but working on something. As the zombie walk and talk were not enough to prove. He always followed a sleepy, paused rhythm when tired enough to reason. "You look terrible."
"You too." Ash sended it back, because he was not looking better than him, making the researcher open a tiny smile, walking torwards him and caressing the tired Pikachu's belly, as is indulging him to acess the dream world.
"Sleep, my love?" Tried, in a murmur, giving up to enjoy the cereal's reminiscence of sweetness. Man, he drank so much water and still can sense the taste. Lingering, as a certain bipedal.
"Very well." Another yawn, a hug and unstable steps towards the room.
Their room.
Ash and Goh are, usually, an independent couple. Both are very proud at it. Most of their interactions can be seen as platonic. Best friends living together and sleeping in the same bed is the best definition of the situation, however, some moments, sparse and short, are filled with extra intimate contact.
Just… cuddle a little, some minutes, seconds, or maybe hours, enough to make their dark circles dissapear. They kind of deserve that.
