‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ Life's Little Wonders ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙
"And then he did the thing! Oh, that gato!" Death ranted, pacing back and forth as the retold his tale of The Puss in Boots' final show down on the Star. He was so sure, Death told you, so sure that the gato would fall to him!
Death smiled as he recounted the fight, as if he were reliving it again. His sharp teeth in a line, eyes wide in what could be described as excitement. Ah, it was quite a thing to get Death so worked up. Aside from his hatred for those of the feline gene, Death was not a fan of those who would go so far as to carelessly throw their own lives away, you know. Don’t play with those lost little angels, you would chide him, ah, but who could blame him? Eight out of nine lives and each other them so spirited and lively and oh so very stupid and gullible.
As immortal beings capable of living for eons, you both had learned so very long ago at how precious life is. How beautiful it was to live and die, to inspire and create some piece of themselves, big or small. To leave it behind for others to find, to nurture and to love.
You smiled at the wolf, his dark cloak swaying with his movements. Your hands cupped the furs of your cheeks, elbows resting upon the circular, wooden table.
You admired Death, you truly do.
He is a compassionate being despite his terrifying form. Just like you, he only wants what's best for the living, be they human or animal. Just like you, he wants to see them live to their fullest potential, for them to see the most amazing sights, hear the on goings of life, to love with all their heart and soul...!
…Because, just like you, he wants to see and hear their experiences through their eyes as he comes to collect them before passing them on to you. You, who are their final judgement.
"And— You're not even listening to me, are you?"
You giggle, giving the wolf the most gentlest of looks, "Of course I am, dear."
You stand from the bar table, your long white robes gathering at your feet. Your golden horns softly glimmer in the moonlight as your halo circles slowly behind you.
"It sounds like you've reawakened the "famous, fearless hero" to live a modest life for himself and not for the fame.
"You're such a good therapist!"
"I am not a therapist!*" Death yells, his fur slightly raised. "I am death, straight up."
You girlishly shriek in delight, rushing over to your long time friend, the little bells tied to your wool jiggling. You wrap your arms around his waist, your head tucking just under his strong jaw.
"Angie!*"
"Oh, I just love how you reaffirm yourself!" You gush with a large smile on your face.
He scowls at you but you cannot see it and he is grateful for it because it means you cannot see the tips of his fur turn red on his cheeks. He normally wouldn't allow this of others but you are a good friend of his despite him being death and you being an angel. You both are so very different in so many ways yet you complete your duties in similar fashion.
He settles his large hand on your head, petting at your soft wool while his free hand loosely wraps around your waist.
He smiles to himself, eyes gazing down at you with a gentle fondness.
Life is long and terrible but it can also be filled with wonder and joy so long as you can find love and give love back. To live true and to never take it for granted…
That is why you and Death encouraged those souls to give it their all, watching and cheering for their success in the background* because that is what life is all about: Finding your purpose, exploring yourself, trying to find reason that is your own to honor and uphold. To grow and love, shelter and protect.
And in those moments of loneliness and doubt, when a life has been stretched to the point that none can repair it, you and Death would be there. You will weep with them, a kind hand upon them, sharing in their pain with a tender gaze. You will know that they’ve done everything within their power, done their best to make due with what was given to them…
…Because in the end, that’s all you and Death had ever asked for.

Someone without any
Doubt, you finally get
One of two results,
A person for life
Or
A lesson for life..."
