the tip of cyno’s tongue poked out the corner of his mouth as he attempted to replicate the sentence alhaitham had previously signed. the two rising scholars of the akademiya finally had their orbits collide a month ago — cyno having been secluded in the corner of the house of daena, attempting to teach himself teyvat sign language and alhaitham stumbling upon his lessons, offering a helping hand.
alhaitham’s soft voice broke the settled silence with a simple “good.” his hands reached out to hold cyno’s, whose own fingers relaxed in the grasp, having become used to alhaitham’s manipulation of them into better positioning. the smaller male’s eyes seemed to light up as an idea came to him; he intertwined his fingers with ‘haitham’s, a small huff of laughter springing forth as he watched the taller man’s eyebrows minutely furrow at the interruption. cyno released one hand to quickly finger spell out a request, alhaitham patient with his progress. as cyno finished, twin blushes alighted upon his and ‘haitham’s cheeks.
“i suppose,” alhaitham replied, tenderness laced throughout his face that cyno could recognize. he moved his free hand upwards, brushing a strand of hair behind cyno’s ear, then settling it on his jaw. he leaned in, eyes half lidded as his lips met the corner of cyno’s. cyno let out a small noise of contentment, eyes fluttering open as alhaitham pulled away.
‘thank you,’ cyno signed. ‘haitham’s eyes crinkled a bit at the corners, his allusion of a grin.
‘anything for you.’
