Lestat’s out in the forest again. And Louis doesn’t dare go after him, scared of what he’ll find. They’d watched movies until dawn on his birthday, and Lestat hadn’t said a word once they started.
Those three sentences on his birthday are the only ones he’s said to Louis since Akasha died. The quiet unnerves him, worries him.
He’s never been a fan of Lestat’s reckless impulsiveness, but he wonders if maybe he wouldn’t take that over the silence.
They’ve got him back, Louis got him back, but there’s a distance he can’t seem to cross. Yet Lestat sleeps in his arms every day, and the bracelet glitters at his wrist when he moves.
