Chapter Text

The story starts with a pink-headed woman browsing through youtube at around 3:00 in the afternoon, lets see what's going on.

-IN MINA'S ROOM-

"Ugh, there's nothing to watch... MGmmm, I'm Bored..," said Mina. She continued scrolling through videos until something caught her eye, it was her classmate in a thumbnail, a thumbnail of a MUsic video, "What? What's Midori doing in a music video?" She clicked the video not really knowing what to expect(Though secretly hoping it was what she thought it was. The video started with Izuku sitting at a keyboard with a microphone,"Huh? Didn't know Midori could play piano." she continued watching and was pleasantly happy when Izuku started to sing.

*Izuku Singing*

It started with a soft tone from the keyboard,

"How are you feeling?

Do you like the show?

Are you tired of it, nevermind I don't wanna know."

"*Gasp*" Mina was ecstatic, quickly pausing the video she got up, and ran to her door. Throwing it open and running downstairs to the common area to find someone to share her discovery with. Luckily the whole class was down there minus Izuku, so Mina ran to the middle in front of the T.V. to announce her discovery, "Guys, guys, guys, you'll never guess what I found," Semi-shouted Mina, "What?" said Kyoka, "I just found Midori singing on youtube!!," "What!?" Asked half the class, even though the other half didn't say anything, they were interested. "Yeah! Here let me show you." said Mina as she snatched the remote from Kaminari, who was watching T.V. "Hey, I was watching that" but nobody heard or cared. Mina went home on the T.V. going to Youtube and typing in the video she found, many were surprised to actually see Izuku on the screen, especially with a Music Video. "Yeah, see, see, he's right there, and he sings, I mean I haven't watched the whole video yet, I wanted to watch it together." "Tch" Jiro said, if Izuku could sing why didn't he tell her, I mean she was the "music" person of the class.  "Yeah, here let me start the video."

The video started again, with the same soft piano,

"How are you feeling?

Do you like the show?

Are you tired of it, nevermind I don't wanna know."

"Oh, this sounds really good," said the resident FULL redhead, A.K.A. Kirishima, "Yeah, right! The name of the song is "Don't Wanna Know" I wonder what it's about?" Ochako and Todoroki were having the same reactions just expressing them differently, "Why didn't Deku-Kun tell me he could sing!?" pouted Ochako, meanwhile Todoroki thought, 'Wonder why Midoriya didn't tell anyone anything'. The song continued.

 "Are you finding it boring?,

Too fast too slow, 

I'm asking but don't answer cuz I don't wanna know,"

"I wonder why he's asking questions but then saying he doesn't wanna know" Said the resident robot, Tenya Iida. "Maybe it symbolizes something, or has a deeper meaning?" asked the rich Heiress, Momo Yaoyorozu. "Maybe" said Tenya, while Jiro just looked amazed, why shouldn't she be, she thought that Midoriya wouldn't be any good at singing considering how much he stutters.

The beat slightly changed, 

"Do I have your attention,

Yes or no,

I bet I guess the number but I don't wanna know,

Am I on in the background, 

Are you on your phone,"

Sero who was on his phone quickly looked up, a little surprised at what the T.V. said. "Woah, how'd he see Sero was on his phone?" asked Kaminari, "He didn't, idiot, it's just a verse in the song, "Oh" Kaminari said.

Song continues,

"I'd ask you what you're watching but i don't wanna know,"

The beat gets a little faster,

"Is their anyone out there, 

Or am I all alone,

It wouldn't make a difference still I don't wanna know,"

"I wonder why he's asking if anyone is out there," asked the resident Transparent Woman, Tooru Hagakure, "I mean, I get it's a part of the song, but seems a little weird," "Yeah, wonder if he was feeling lonely when writing the song," asked Ojiro, because he was obviously sitting next to Tooru. 

Song continues,

"I thought it'd be over by now,

But I got a while to go, 

I'd give away the ending but you don't wan-"

The song ends abruptly and the T.V. shows an Ad.

"What!?" Shouts Mina, "Is that it, that was too short, man, I wanted to listen to more," said Kirishima, "Ooh, maybe there is more," says Kaminari, as he grabs the remote and goes to the youtube channel of the video where the class see's multiple songs with Izuku in the Thumbnail,"Wonder which one we should watch next," asked Mineta, "I don't know." Said Tsuyu.

Kaminari looks at the music and says, "Woah, who woulda thought Midoriya would sing so much." "Yeah, he seems so shy any time he talks," says Sero. "Ooh, ooh, let me choose the next song!" said Tooru, the resident invisible woman, "Alright here," Kaminari handed the remote to Tooru, "Hmmm..." Tooru looked at the thumbnails, and song names, going past a song called "New Math", who wanted to listen to a song about math? She found a song with a thumbnail similar to the last song the class listened to, "Let's listen to this one, any objections?" "No" "Nah" "IDC" was the general reply, "alright," Tooru clicked on the song titled "Look Who's Inside Again."

Piano starts to play,

"Trying to be funny and stuck in a room,

There isn't much more to say about it,

Can one be funny while stuck in a room?"

"Is he grounded or something?" asked Mineta, "Maybe, I mean it's just talking about how he's stuck in this room," Said Sato, AKA Sugarman, "M-maybe he just feels stuck, like figuratively, not literally." said Koda, "Maybe, But what could Midoriya feel stuck with?" asked Iida, chopping the air. "Maybe it's just literally, I mean Midobro doesn't seem like the kind of guy to be all sad about something for long" Said Kirishima, "Yeah, he's always smiling and stuff," Said Shoji, AKA the octopus.

The song continues,

"Being in, trying to get something out of it,

Try making faces,

Try telling jokes, making little sounds, uh.

I was a kid who was stuck in his room,

There isn't much more to say about it,

When your a kid and your stuck in your room,

You'll do any old shit to get out of it,"

"Woah, he cussed!" said Kaminari, "What? Did you think he didn't know cuss words, I mean, he grew up with bakugou," said Kirishima, "What was that Shitty Hair?" Said Bakugou, "Nothing, it's just that you cuss all the time, so it'd be weird if Midobro didn't learn anything from you." "Yeah I guess, but wow, that's the first time i've heard him cuss," said Ojiro. "Shh, let's keep watching." said Tooru.

The song continues,

"Try making faces,

Try telling jokes, making little sounds,"

"Why would you make faces trying to get out of being grounded?" asked Mineta, "Making faces to make your parent laugh can put them in a better mood, which makes them more likely to un-ground you" said Momo, "Yeah, I guess that makes a little since"

Song continues,

"Well, Well,

Look who's inside again,

went out to look for a reason to hide again,

Well, Well, 

Buddy, you found it,

Now, come out with your hands up,

we've got you surrounded."

The piano play for a second longer, then the video ends.

"That one was pretty cool, though it's not the type of music I like" said Jiro, the "Rock Music" girl, "Yeah wonder if he has any raps?" said Mina, "Yea, Hey let me pick next," Said Jiro, "Hm, oh here Jiro," said Tooru. "Hmm, Ooh, this one seems like it might be good." Said Jiro, clicking a song named "All Eyes On Me"

I'm sorry.

And no I'm not abandoning the story, I just don't have my laptop with me so I can't update, so it'll probably take maybe 2 days.

Right after Jiro clicked on the video clapping could be heard with a single note of piano. "Hmm, I don't think it's going to be a rap video Jiro," Said Shoji, "Yeah seems like it's gonna be similar to the last two." 

The Song Began Too Play With A Close Up Of Izuku's Face.

"Get your fuckin' hands up,

Get on out of your seat,

All eyes on me, all eyes on me,

Get your fuckin' hands up,

The Class was a little surprised, "Dang, Midobro can cuss when he wants to huh?" Asked Kirishima. "Yeah, it's a little weird actually, I mean, he never cusses around us," Said Ochako, "Maybe he's just the kind of person to only cuss in his music, I mean you don't have to cuss in every sentence if you make music with cuss words in it." Said Jiro, "Yeah..." Said Koji.

The Next Verse Came On,

"Are you feeling nervous?

Are you having fun?

It's almost over,

It's just begun,

Some of the class like Shoji and Koji liked this part, it seemed calm, and easy going.

The Song Continues,

The song Continued, But It Now Showed Izuku's Whole Body

"Get your fuckin' hands up,

The class was a little confused, "Didn't it just say that?" asked Tsuyu, as blunt as ever, "Yeah," said Mina, "I was expecting something new."

The Song Continues,

"Hmm, it said this earlier too," said Iida, "Maybe it's just telling us to not overthink the song? I mean that's what it's telling us." Said Kaminari, "That couldn't be it, it seems like there's a deeper meaning, but i don't know what it is," said Momo.

"Hmmm, with how the words of the last verse are phrased, Maybe Midoriya has told us to keep an eye on him to prevent us seeing the world, which is metaphorically ending," Said Iida, "That could be it," said Hagakure, "I figured it out!!" shouted Momo. This startled everyone so she quickly apologized. "I know what this song represents!"said Momo, "What?" asked Mina, "It's a representation of "Depression" or "The Struggle To Keep Caring", i mean he seems to just not really care all that much about what's going on around him, and if the worlds ending and he's singing about it, that seems uncaring, and Midoriya being uncaring for the world might be the cause of depression!" finished Momo, Most of the class seemed to be lost, all except one person, "Amazing Momo, it makes more since now!!" Complimented Jiro, whom listens to tons of music so it's easier to understand things like this.

The Song Continues,

All Of The sudden Izuku Starts To Sound Angry, Getting Up And Grabbing The Camera.

The class is a little weirded out by this, 'why would he get angry out of no where' most thought, "Well, with depression, a lot of the feelings with it can quickly turned to anger, so I guess he just wants to convey that part as well." said Momo, reply's of 'Sure' and "That makes since" came.

The Last Verse Of The Song Comes On, It Shows Izuku Dancing With The Camera In His Hand,

"Get your fuckin' hands up,

And The Screen Fades Into Black With Fake People Clapping.

"Dibs on the next song," said Kirishima.

"What!? Man, I wanted to choose next." said Sero.

"Well, you snooze you lose." said Kirishima. "Hand me the remote." Jirou handed him the remote.

"Hmm, guess i'll go with this one." Kirishima said while clicking on a song named "Comedy."

The songs starts with showing Izuku at a keyboard.

The song starts,

What the fuck is going on?

Rearranging,

It's like everything happened all at once,

Um, what the fuck is going on?"

"The first thing he talks about is global warming in a song called Comedy?" asked Tsuyu.

"Yeah, it seems a little weird." says Shoji.

The more I look, the more I see nothing to joke about,

Is comedy over?

"He's talking about problems in the world." says Ochako.

"Yeah, but we have to listen to rest to find out why he's talking about that though." says Momo.

And the fear is not unfounded,

Should I stop trying to be funny?

Should I give away my money? No!

What do I do?"

"OH, he's talking about the problems in the world and how he should help." said Iida.

"Yeah, that makes sense, but why doesn't he wanna give away his money? Seems like a good way to help, like, if you were to donate." said Toru.

"It seems that he wants to help with comedy, that might be why the song is named that." said Kaminari. Everyone looked at him weird, like he did something he shouldn't.

"What?" asked Kaminari. 

"Why were you just smart?" asked Mina.

"What do you mean?" said Kaminari

"You know what, let's forget it and continue watching." said Jirou.

The song continues,

The world needs direction,

From a white guy like me (Bingo!)

"So he wants to heal the world with comedy? How would he do that?" asked Mineta.

"Well actually, being a comedian can help lots of people. Helping people during troubling times by making them laugh." said Momo.

"Yeah, laughing when you're sad can help get you in a better mood." said Shoji.

"But how would laughing heal the world?" asked Kaminari.

"Making people feel good, or helping them feel better about something can help a lot, more than others though." said Momo.

"I wonder if Midoriya wanted to be a comedian when he was younger?" asked Kirishima.

"It was what he wanted to do if he couldn't become a hero." said Bakugou

"Really, I wonder what jokes he has if he wanted to do that?" asked Mina.

"Well, with these songs he probably wanted to become a comedy singer." said Jirou.

"Let's keep listening. I want it to be my turn." said Sero

The song continues,

"That's it!

"Maybe this song is talking about healing the world, but something else too. Why would he want all the attention to be on him?" asked Iida.

"Yeah. Maybe it's his personality as a comedian, I mean entertainers often do what they do because they want attention on them." said Momo.

"The meaning to the song, I mean, it keeps talking about healing the world but then says something very small that they did, so maybe it's talking about how people do the bare minimum and then go talking about it like they donated a million dollars to charity." says Jirou.

"That makes sense, I mean, it seems like something Midoriya's song would talk about based on the other songs we've listened to." says Momo

"Yeah, although that makes me wonder, why is Midoriya the one singing all these songs. He doesn't seem to be the type that would talk about these topics."says Tokoyami.

"Well I don't care about that right now, give me the remote so I can choose the next song." exclaims Sero. He gets the remote and looks through some songs, like "I'm Bo Yo" and "Oh Bo" before seeing a name and clicking. The name of the song was "Welcome to the internet."

After Pressing play on the video everyone started to watch the video.

The song started by showing Izuku sitting at a keyboard.

"Welcome to the internet,

Have a look around,

Anything that brain of yours can think of can be found,

We've got mountains of content,

Some better, some worse,

If none of it's of interest to you, you'd be the firs t."

"That's true. there's something on the internet for everyone." said Rikido Sato.

"Yeah, you can find just about anything, if not anything, on the internet." said Mina.

The song continued.

Would you like to see the news or any famous women's feet?

Momo looked scandalized.

"Why would you want to see famous people's feet!?" asked Momo.

"Well, some people are into that stuff Momo. And the internet has it." said Tooru.

Would you like to fight for civil rights or tweet a racial slur?

Kirishima looked offended.

"Why would you want to tweet a racial slur!?" asked Kirishima. Mina had told him about some of the times people had been mean to her because of her skin, it made his skin bristle.

"That's just how people are dude. Some people just want to watch the world burn." said Sero.

"Was that a reference?" asked Kaminari.

"What?" asked Sero.

"Uh... Nothing" said Kaminari.

The song continued.

"WHAT!?!?" asked Momo. Harry Potter was one of her favourite books.

"Why would someone do that!?" asked Momo.

"Well, some people draw it for fun, and others will do it for money. But a lot of people are just degenerates." said Jirou.

"You know. This has been an accurate representation of the internet so far. The part about the pasta especially. The internet can just be so random at times." said Ochako.

The song continued.

"Wow, that escalated quickly.*Ribbit*" said Tsuyu.

"Yeah, but he isn't wrong. W-W-Well, he is wrong about the 'Liking' part, but yeah, random people will send stuff like that." said Jirou, when she would try to talk to people about pre-quirk era music there was a chance for that to happen. It'd happened twice now.

The song continued.

"WoOooOw..." Kaminari seemed to be overheating with the steam coming out of his head.

The song continued to say the same thing again.

"Why would apathy be a tragedy?" asked Iida.

"What does apathy mean?" asked Kaminari after recovering from the previous verse.

"It's a lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern." answered Momo.

"Well, maybe it's talking about how everyone has 'anything and everything' all of the time because of the internet. and if you're bored or whatever. You shouldn't be, I mean, you have everything at your fingertips." said Iida

"Woah, I never thought of that." said Mina.

The song continued, but it wasn't really singing now, sure it still had a beat and everything, but now it seemed to be talking straight to the viewer.

"You know, it wasn't always like this,

This was catalogs,

Travel blogs,

A chat room or two,

We set our sights and spent our nights,

"That was weird." said Shoji.

"Yeah. Ooh, ooh. I think I might know why it did that." said Mina.

"Why?" asked Momo.

"Well, the internet is huge, but there's also dark parts to it, maybe that part is about the dark part of the internet." answered Mina.

"Maybe..." said Iida.

The last verse of the song plays.

Izuku was in the gym working out when he suddenly sneezed.

"*Achoo* Huh, wonder who's talking about me?" he said before going back to working out.
