Work Text:
It’s dark, one lamp on by the bedside and as the two get ready for bed. Nick sits in bed, tablet bring light onto him as he scrolls through and it doesn’t take long before Charlie walks in from the en suit bathroom with damp hair and pajamas on.
It’s late, and after one big dinner and a sweet, romantic bath, valentines day is almost over. It isn’t their first valentines day, Nick considers them experts, so they know they have one more ‘tradition’ to do before the end of the day.
“Sleepy?” Nick chuckles as Charlie yawns, grabbing some lotion from his bedside table to rub into his dry hands.
Charlie nods as Nick puts his tablet to the side, plugging it in and giving his full attention to Charlie.
He’s wearing his normal over sized hoodie along with some pajama pants while Nick sticks with being shirtless in only his boxers already halfway under the blankets.
“I do not want to go to work tomorrow” Charlie groans, flopping onto the bed next to Nick.
Nick smiles fondly, moving his hand to run through Charlies hair softly as he relaxes into the mattress.
“Let’s not focus on that now, let’s focus on tonight” Nick shuffles closer, bringing the blanket over the both of them and pulling Charlie closer.
It’s not every night they go to bed at the same time, sometimes doing work or having too much energy. So on valentines day they make sure the evening is just for them, specially done so they can spend it all together.
Nick curls up next to Charlie, holding him close to his chest as they both breathe out at the contact. They’re warm and comfortable as they lay together in each others arms.
“I love you” Nick whispers as he looks into Charlies eyes, both tired but not ready to let their relaxation end.
Charlie smiles, pressing a soft but passionate kiss onto Nicks lips before laying his head onto his chest. “I love you too.”
It’s a magical feeling, slowly drifting off in your loves arms. The two quickly relax into each other, closing their eyes and falling asleep.
It’s love, even the smallest things feel like a dream.
