Work Text:
Rain is pouring heavily from the skies. Wednesday and Enid are completely drenched and Enid is shivering. It’s still the most romantic date she has ever been on. Far better than with any of the boys she has been with. Wednesday wraps an arm around her and Enid immediately feels a little warmer. She and Wednesday have been building up to this, to touching more. It thrills Enid every time Wednesday gets close to her like this. It means Wednesday trusts her and she knows that that trust is not easily given. It’s a precious gift and Enid cherishes it.
“We should probably find cover,” Wednesday says.
“Probably,” Enid agrees.
Wednesday stops walking for a second and looks into Enid’s eyes. Wednesday’s eyes are so beautiful. They tell a million stories. Enid can’t get enough of them.
“I don’t want you to get cold,” Wednesday says.
“It’s okay,” Enid says, “I have you to keep me warm.”
She places her hand on Wednesday’s cheek. A faint blush appears on Wednesday’s face. She’s so pretty, like this. They keep looking at each other for a few moments, just staring into each other’s eyes. Words aren’t spoken, but they are felt. They love each other, that much is clear.
“I could drown in your eyes and I would do so happily,” Wednesday says.
“Your eyes feel like homecoming, like safety, like love,” Enid says.
“Let me kiss you,” Wednesday says.
Enid nods and smiles, then Wednesday presses their lips together. Rain is still pouring heavily, continuing to drench them, but it’s hard to think or care about such things when you are kissing your girlfriend. A little rain never killed anybody and Wednesday’s kisses are worth everything to Enid.
Besides, now they have an excuse to cuddle up when they get back to their room. They have to stay warm after all and what better way to stay warm than to hug each other? It’s science. Obvious science. Enid is already looking forward to it. She loves every moment she shares with Wednesday. She loves Wednesday, period. It doesn’t get much better than this.
