“Th-That’s—” Ann stammers, then groans. “I’m sorry, Haru-chan… I’m being a total jerk right now, aren’t I?”
“A teensy bit,” Haru admits, never one to mince words, but she doesn’t seem especially bothered by it. She picks up her mug—a honey rose latte it was called on the menu, Ann’s not usually a fan of pairing bitter flavours with espresso which is already so strong but Haru seems fond of it—and takes a graceful sip, dabbing at her upper lip after with a napkin. “But that’s fine. We all have our jerk days, and you’ve weathered out a few with me too. Is it anything you want to talk about?”
“I…” Ann chews the corner of her mouth, kind of hating herself. Haru is so busy these days with college. Sometimes even more so than Makoto, who at least has a lot to study and thus a lot of time to spend sitting around and doing independent tasks together.
Ann shouldn’t waste the morning talking about her problems, even if Haru used to be one of her closest confidants back in high school.

Something about that makes Mukuro feel sick to her stomach. She staggers back one, two steps, then manages to regain her composure. Breathes in deeply. Upstairs Junko is wrestling Naegi into submission the way Mukuro was tasked with doing down here. It was supposed to be simple enough that even a failure like Mukuro couldn’t do it wrong. Instead her heart beats so violently she can feel it in the seats of her palms. She swallows past a dry throat.
“Some detective,” Mukuro chokes out, but Kirigiri shakes her head.
“I had a hunch. I’m surprised that it’s wrong.” Seemingly unaffected by almost a full twenty four hours of unconsciousness, Kirigiri uses a knuckle to brush her bangs from her eyes. She turns and sets her elbow against the desk. Her gaze is piercing. “I imagine you’ve been aiding her from the start. Haven’t you ever thought of doing different?”
“Everyone has ugly thoughts,” Mukuro responds.

Faith knows it, Willow knows it, Spike knows it, Dawn knows it, and—though it took her a while to figure out—Buffy knows it now. And she can’t say she’s over it exactly, but she’s moved on. Had two serious, emotionally devastating relationships since then. She’s not actively thirsting over the ‘crazy murderer chick’ anymore.
Really it’s Spike’s fault that her thighs clench at Faith calling her sir. Buffy could’ve lived out her life having boring sex with normal men, denying any sort of interest in freakiness but no, he just had to go and show her she likes handcuffs and chains and domination. And it’s Faith’s fault, too. Joking like that when she knows how crazy she makes Buffy. These two are evil and co-conspiring her downfall. Stupid Buffy, always falling for the evil ones with nice abs and that hungry look in their eyes.
