Chapter Text
Here, in Toulouse, people were very happy. Everyone was living their lives, having fun, and enjoying their day. You could say everyone was enthusiastic about today's event. What event? The exhibition of paintings from young artists. Every so often, an event would be set so people could acknowledge young artists' talents.
It truly was a blessing for them. Creators would get little to no notice for their projects. Only those who were lucky enough could get it, even then it wasn't much.
The exhibition was held in the heart of the city. A lot of citizens showed up for it. They gazed upon the works in astonishment. Who knew young creators had such skills?
One particular boy, however, didn't like any of the exhibits. They were boring to him. He didn't even understand the one he was looking at. What on earth did it even want to show?
A man walked past him. He noticed the little boy staring at the art and smiled to himself. He decided to talk to the kid.
"Hello there!" He greeted.
The boy turned around, looked at the tall man, and shyly greeted back. "H-hello..."
"I see that you like that particular art piece?" The man looked at the painting.
"Not...really. I don't understand it." The boy answered him, disappointment rising in his voice.
"Art doesn't need to be understood." The man put a hand on the child's shoulder and looked at him. "Art is meant to be enjoyed. Some people argue of that but... I personally think, for this exhibit is that it looks funky."
The tall man smiled at the kid and walked away. The kid looked back at the exhibit, now with a different view. It did look funky, the man was right.
The little boy smiled and walked back to his parents, who were talking to one of the owners of this exhibition.

"So, did you enjoy the exhibition?" The boy's mother asked. The kid look at his mother and nodded. "I see. I'm glad you did, Inky."
Ink looked back at the building where the event took place. He smiled and looked at his mother.
"Mommy, can I become an artist?"
The mother looked at her child with surprise. She smiled generously at him and nodded. "Of course, sunshine."
Ink's smile widened even more. He suddenly hugged his mother and thanked her. The mother kneeled and hugged her son back.
"Starting tomorrow, I'll teach you how to draw basic shapes. Does that sound good?"
The kid looked at his mom with excitement. "YES!" He answered.
The woman kissed her son's cheek and stood up. "Alright, let's get back home before you catch a cold." She took Ink's hand and they started walking.
