Work Text:
It was a normal Saturday after school and Bakugou was sparring with Midoriya while his boyfriend was out getting some field training in with Fat Gum and his crew. They walked with All Might back to the dorm where all of 3A lived. When they came through the door, they saw something none of the three expected.
A crying child.
"Who's brat-" Bakugou immediately yelled over the screaming until he saw the "brat" in question.
Uraraka was holding a black-haired toddler with sharp teeth who was balling his eyes out.
"Is that-" Bakugou started as he stopped dead in his tracks.
"Kirishima?!" Midoriya finished for him, continuing towards the, what looked to be, about 5-year-old child.
His lip quivered as he tried to bury himself deeper into the oversized hoodie he had on; a hoodie Bakugou knew to be Kirishima's because he'd stolen it countless times.
"Look! Look who's here, sweetie! It's Kat, your boyfriend; you remember Kat, right?" Uraraka bounced the child on her hip and pointed at Bakugou.
Bakugou was still stunned into a confused silence as he stood the farthest away from the puffy-eyed child. He peeked at the man in question and shook his head, tucking it back under Uraraka's chin.
All Might, who had been getting briefed from Aizawa since they walked in, suddenly flanked Bakugou and placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Aizawa said he was quirked by a villain while out with Fat Gum and they don't know how long it'll last. He doesn't seem to remember any of us, but apparently took to Uraraka when she opened her arms to coddle him; same as Yaoyorozu. Guess he's been crying for his moms since they brought him in. What I've heard from a select few, they're the most like them; probably why he was drawn to them." All Might filled him in.
Before he even got to say anything, the child was being walked over to him.
"It's okay, Kiri; it's okay." She hushed him.
As she approached Bakugou, she yelped an "OUCH!" As he accidentally activated his quirk from being scared and almost dropped Kirishima.
Thankfully, because of her quirk, she quickly recovered.
"His mothers have been notified and they're willing to help in any way they can, but they're unfortunately unable to get here." Mr. Aizawa joined his other side.
Uraraka was now standing right in front of him and all he could see of the child in her arms were two small fists clutching her shirt as tight as he could and the back of his head that was coated in the black-as-night hair he'd helped him bleach and dye twice a month for the last 3 years.
"No! He'th thcawy!" Kirishima whispered to Uraraka, louder than he probably meant to.
"He only looks scary, but he's a big teddy bear! You call him Kitty 'cause he loves to cuddle with you like a kitty cat!" She reminded him as she watched the blush spread across Bakugou's cheeks.
"Kitty?" He sniffles and giggles.
Uraraka giggles with him, nudging Bakugou's foot as she silently tries to get him to say or do something to make him less intimidating to the scared boy.
" Right, Bakugou?" She practically begs him to talk, speaking as sweetly as she could through her teeth.
"You -uh- yeah… " he falters, still trying to process his 18-going-on-5-year-old boyfriend.
"You want Kitty to hold you?" Uraraka asked him, but Bakugou stepped in before he could.
"Need to wash the sweat off." He looks away as he stalks off to the bathroom.
"It's okay, little guy. He'll be back after he gets a shower!" All Might smiles as he touches the boy's back, but it seems to do more harm than not by making him start crying again.
"Seeing him this frail at that age, I'd cry too." Bakugou thought as he spared a glance over his shoulder, seeing All Might trying to apologize profusely for making him cry.
Kirishima was not only surrounded by a bunch of tall strangers but also naked as the day he was born under the huge hoodie. The man that had talked gently to him was the second biggest in the room, but also looked like he smoked meth for a living, even though he gave off a comforting vibe. Bakugou, on the other hand, had the complete opposite effect. He started off scary, but he was the prettiest person in the room to the boy. He gave off an intimidating vibe, but something about his voice was oddly soothing to the child in a way he couldn't start to explain.
After he recovered from a mild panic attack in the shower, Bakugou came back out dressed in a t-shirt and sweatpants. Everyone was sitting in the common room on the couches, chairs, and floor. The only exception was Satou, who was in the kitchen cooking something that smelled a lot like pork. Kirishima had been standing on the cushion beside Uraraka holding onto her while bouncing slightly as they all watched cartoons with him until Bakugou came into his view. He stopped bouncing, his grip looked to tighten, and everything around him didn't matter anymore.
He was focused on him and him only; eyes never looking away as he got closer.
"Kitty?" He whispered to Uraraka.
"Yeah, that's your Kitty!" She giggled as she whispered back, looking over the back of the couch to see Bakugou.
The people around them could hear, but Bakugou couldn't because he was still too far away.
"You want your Kitty, don't you?" She asked him and he got closer to her before nodding.
"Okay, sweetie, hold on. Bakugou, c'mere!" She called to him as he was walking their way.
Bakugou fought back, telling her to not tell him what to do as he saw Kirishima intensely watching him. He's still standing up beside Uraraka and trying to hide behind her as Bakugou rounded the corner of the couch, shoving Midoriya out of the seat beside Kirishima and sitting down.
"That'th not nith!" Tiny Kirishima gently scolded him for making Midoriya move.
"No, it wasn't nice, was it? He should say he's sorry, huh?" Uraraka prodded with a teasing smirk.
"Uh-huh!" He nodded.
"You gonna come sit with me or not, brat?" He asked, ignoring that he was about to be forced by a child to apologize.
"I think he wants you to apologize first, Kacchan." Midoriya teased from his new spot beside Todoroki.
"I ain't apolo-" he growled until he met the red eyes he's been used to sleeping next to for the last 2 ½ years.
He looked a mix of scared again, but also trying to put on a brave face.
"'M sorry, 'r whatever, c'mere." His apology was a scoff, but he patted his lap.
Little Kirishima looked back at Uraraka as he let go of her hand before he climbed onto Bakugou's legs.
"It's funny how, even though he doesn't know you, he still feels drawn to you, Kacchan," Midoriya spoke up.
Bakugou ignored his comment, too busy looking over the small child in his lap that had been a 6'2", 18-year-old man that he made out with this morning as he sat in his lap. Kirishima stood on both of his thighs as he stared at Bakugou, seeming to be doing the same thing Bakugou was. Kirishima's little hands reached out and touched the spikey, blonde hair. When he realized they were soft and not sharp, he smiled and pulled his head closer to rub his face on them.
"Not so hard, runt!" He remarked.
"Thowy," he let go and stepped back with a bashful, apologetic smile pulling on the corner of his lip.
"You eat?" He asked him, getting a head shake back. "Not even gonna ask if you're hungry; what d'ya want?" He asked.
"Dino nuggieth!" He raised both hands, letting the big, folded sleeves fall down his scrawny arms.
"Don't have any," he got a pout back that made him instantly smile before he dropped it.
Kirishima's pout was immediately replaced with wide eyes as soon as he saw his smile.
"What?" Bakugou narrowed his eyes.
His face was all red as he looked at him in amazement, but he put his head down and shook it instead of answering.
"Stay here, I'll find something." Bakugou put him on the couch and stood up before he could protest. "Make him some clothes so he's not butt-ass naked, would ya?" He asked Yaoyorozu as he passed her.
"Watch your language, Bakugou!" Iida yelled at him.
Kirishima crawled back into Uraraka's lap while he opened the refrigerator to see what he could cook for him.
"I got a thecwet! Wanna heaw?" Kirishima asked her, whispering louder than he intended.
"Yeah! What's your secret?" She loudly whispered back.
"I think Kitty'th weally pwetty." He stood up and had one hand on her shoulder to steady himself and the other was playing with the strings of the hoodie.
As soon as the words left his mouth, he giggled and turned bashful once again as he ducked his head into her neck to hide his face.
"Aww! That's so cute! You're so sweet, Kiri!" She held him closer.
He got off the couch and started coloring in one of the books Aizawa brought over from where Eri was staying. Kirishima was dancing and coloring as he watched the cartoons. They were looking over kids' clothing sizes online to see what size might fit him when they noticed he was pulling at the front of the extremely oversized hoodie.
"You okay, Kirishima?" Midoriya asked him.
"I nee-go pee-pee!" He turned around and grabbed Uraraka's hand.
"Uh, okay, h-hey Bakugou?" Uraraka looked up from him. "Go tell Kitty, sweetie; he'll help you." She recommended.
Kirishima waddled, almost tripping multiple times on the hoodie, into the kitchen and tugged on Bakugou's shirt. He stopped tending to the pot and looked down.
"Kitty, I gotta pee-pee! Help?" He asked, distress filling his tone.
"Watch that pot," he looked at Satou, who got up and walked to the kitchen to take his spot. "Let's go before you make a puddle that I gotta clean!"
Kirishima grabbed his pointer finger, wrapping his small hand around the single digit to run towards the boys' bathroom sign. He guided him to a toilet and Bakugou lifted him to stand on the seat. Kirishima started trying to gather all the hoodie up so he wouldn't get pee on it, but he was starting to get desperate. Bakugou took it off of him and slung it over his shoulder while holding onto the child so he wouldn't accidentally slip. He finished and walked him to the row of sinks. Bakugou laid the hoodie down on the marble and sat Kiri on it, telling him to wash his hands and stay there while he went to ask for the clothes.
"Clothes?" He loudly asked as he came back into the room where they all were.
"Not yet; he probably needs a bath first." He was told.
"One'a you do that! I'm cooking!" He started going back to the kitchen.
"Dude, don't act like you two don't shower together every morning!" Kaminari told him.
" I shower with an 18-year-old that I've been dating for the last almost 3 years, not a 5-year-old crotch goblin!" He corrected.
"I've got it in here!" Satou yelled from the kitchen.
"Dude, I can tell you're stressed, but imagine how he feels. He's in a big house around a bunch of strangers he's never met without his moms. It's obvious he feels safe with you! They'll probably have the clothes and food done by the time he's clean." Sero walked over and set him straight, him being one of his closest friends since their first year. "It'll make him and you feel better."
"Everything better be done by the time he's clean," Bakugou growled as he turned around and walked back into the bathroom, ignoring everything people were telling him.
When he walked back in, Kirishima had plugged the sink and was letting it fill to splash his feet in. As soon as he saw Bakugou, he shut off the water and looked a little worried as if bracing to get yelled at. Bakugou noticed the mood change in the boy, not pinpointing exactly what caused it. Knowing Kirishima the way he did though, he guessed he was probably reading his energy and was thinking he was pissed at him.
Bakugou wasn't mad, he was worried and stressed about the fact that his boyfriend is now a child and they didn't know how long it would be until the quirk wore off.
"Thowy," he pulled the plug and tried to clean up the water around the sink with the hoodie he was still sitting on.
"You're getting a bath anyway." Bakugou walked up to him and he immediately opened his arms to be picked up.
Kirishima started chattering away while he was getting everything ready, telling him to sit on the shower stool. Bakugou found his lisp quite adorable, not even knowing Kirishima had one when he was younger but it made sense since he had to get used to the sharp teeth that only came in after his quirk manifested. He'd seen his baby scrapbook the first night Kirishima brought him home as his boyfriend instead of just his friend. Both of his moms were ecstatic and quickly brought out the baby book to show off their son, which Kirishima practically begged them not to. They gushed over how sweet and adorable their baby was, including the video of him ripping his diaper off and holding it up victoriously while laughing and dancing.
The memory made Bakugou smile as he looked back over at the child sitting on the stool that was only two years older. When Kirishima saw him smiling, his own face lit up with a blinding, shark-toothed smile.
"Can I thmell?" Kirishima asked as he pointed at the shampoo in his hands. "Thith what big me utheth?"
"No, it's what I use. Yours has hair dye in it." He turned the hose on and held it away from them so he could correct the temperature.
His eyes lit up like two bright Christmas lights upon hearing that his hair's not the color it is now.
"What colow ith it?!" He excitedly asked.
"Same color Crimson Riot's," he smirked at seeing how excited he was.
As if his eyes couldn't get any bigger, they went comically large with the cutest shine that Bakugou's seen many times before but never gets tired of. His eyes always shined the brightest when talking about something, or someone, he was passionate about.
"You know Cwimthon Wiot?!" He stood up on the stool to be face-to-face with Bakugou.
"Your hero name ain't Red Riot for nothin'!" The smirk never left Bakugou's face.
" Weally?! That'th tho cool!! Cwimthon Wiot'th the manlietht hewo!" He jumped and landed wrong on the stool, knocking it and almost himself over.
Bakugou reflexively dropped the shampoo he was holding to catch him. Kirishima grabbed onto his t-shirt and held on for dear life as Bakugou held him close while standing the stool back up. His quirk activated and Bakugou's shirt got shredded, but he wasn't worried about it. Seeing the fear in Kirishima's eyes reminded him how much he hated seeing him anything but happy.
"Thowy," he gasped as his feet were placed down on the stool.
"Watch what you're doing!" He picked up the shampoo, the lid still luckily closed.
"I thowy, Kitty." He apologized again, ducking his head down but not letting go of Bakugou's torn shirt as tears streaked down his cheeks.
"Just-" he sighed, letting all the pent-up emotion out before he continued with a lighter tone. "Be more careful."
To not risk it happening again, he had him jump down onto the tile instead of being on the stool. Bakugou asked him if he could wash his hair without getting soap in his eyes and he vigorously nodded. Bakugou held the hose over his head while he let the child wet his own hair before pouring some shampoo into his hands.
"Lean your head back or it'll get in your eyes," Bakugou told him, tilting his head back for him by lifting his chin.
When he saw that there was a glob about to run into his open eye, he told him to close them so he could wipe it away. Bakugou made sure he rinsed out all the suds before he let him move on to washing the rest of him. The boy did about as good a job washing himself as Bakugou thought he would. He tried not to feel uncomfortable about washing all of him, but every time he thought about whose body it was, it made him feel awkward all over again. Kirishima rinsed himself off then Bakugou cocooned him in a towel.
He carried him over and sat him down on the sink countertop to use Kirishima's hairdryer on his hair so he wouldn't catch a cold. Kirishima was placed back on the floor and Bakugou told him he'd be back with clothes for him.
"Clothes?" He walked out and demanded.
"They left to get some; should be back anytime!" He was told.
"What happened to your shirt, man?" Kaminari asked.
Bakugou walked away to get both of them new shirts. He came back down in a black tank top, holding one of Kirishima's shirts to put on him until they got back with appropriately-sized clothes. He walked into the common area to see towelless Kirishima shaking his butt and dancing to music being played on the TV with a spoon in his hand.
"C'mere, gremlin!" Bakugou called for him.
Kirishima spun around and bolted over to the blonde. He unfolded the shirt and slipped it over his head. He thanked him as he grabbed his pointer finger again, pulling him along back to the couches. He went over to his bowl and scooped another spoonful of what Bakugou was cooking for him before his shower. Bakugou sat down on the end of the couch, where he usually sits, and Kirishima ran over with food in his spoon.
"Kitty bite?" The little boy offered as he held it up to Bakugou's mouth.
"And get a mouthful of slobber? Yeah, no, all yours!" He teased as he pushed his hand around to redirect the spoon back into the toddler's mouth.
He smiled as he ate it, bouncing as he galloped back to his bowl and started dancing to the music again. He ate off and on while dancing and playing with the few toys that were lent to him for the time being.
Jirou and Yaoyorozu came back with a few bags full of clothes, toys, and stuff like that. They had him try on an outfit, checking that it was the right size before they washed it all. By the time everything had been laundered, the child was asleep in Bakugou's lap. He had crawled up when he finished eating, yawned a few times, and went right to sleep against his boyfriend's chest.
All their classmates took pictures of Mr. I-Want-Nothing-To-Do-With-Kids to show Kirishima when he's back to normal. Kirishima loved kids and they absolutely adored him too, but Bakugou didn't share the same feelings. Even though he didn't much care for the "crotch goblins," most like him as much as they like his boyfriend. Eri being one of the many that absolutely adore him! She said that if Midoriya trusted him, then so did she.
Once Kirishima woke up, he was taken to his room to brush his teeth and pick his own outfit from the freshly-washed clothes. When they came back down, he had a new friend around his age to play with waiting for him.
"Kiri, this is Eri! Would you like to come play with us?" Uraraka asked as she was shuffling a deck of cards.
He excitedly ran over and plopped down by the little girl as he told them how much he'd love to play.
"Okay! Do you know how to play Go Fish?" Uraraka asked as the two kids chatted with each other.
"Mommy play'th it with me!" He nodded.
"Does she? That's good! Do you like Go Fish?" She smiled at him as she started dealing out the cards to the three of them and Midoriya, who asked if he could join in as well.
He quickly told her how fun it was when they played and just carried on, happy to talk as much as anyone would listen to him.
Bakugou went to the kitchen searching for something to give his tiny boyfriend as a snack with a freshly-washed sippy cup full of milk. He saw that they, not only got clothes and some toys, but kid-friendly snacks and drinks to keep them happy too. Bypassing all the junk they got, he set up a spread of fruit and raw veggies for the two kids to share since dinner wasn't for at least another hour or so.
He set the plate of sliced apples, pears, grapes, carrots, and two small bowls that had a scoop of peanut butter for dipping in between the two little ones. Kirishima thanked him as he excitedly grabbed a grape and popped the whole thing in his mouth, happily wiggling in his seat while he chewed.
Bakugou noticed when Kirishima bit down on a chunk of raw carrot, the satisfaction on his face. The more he chewed, the more relaxed he seemed to get.
He studied his reaction as Kirishima opted out of grabbing any of the sweet fruit and eating all the chunks of carrot on the plate. The small child got up and walked over to him, climbing up him to sit in his lap.
"Kitty, can I hath mowe thoth?" Kirishima asked as he pointed to the carrot-less plate.
"Teeth hurt?" Bakugou asked as he pulled his bottom lip down with his thumb to inspect the sharp, pointed teeth.
He hummed out an "uh-huh," letting the older man examine his mouth. Bakugou nodded an acknowledgment of his answer and put the child back on his feet. He walked toward the kitchen, making Kirishima think he was getting him more food, but passed it and went up the elevator.
Bakugou brought Kirishima's cream he applies when his teeth ache, itching to bite something or someone , and his favorite extra-strength quirk/hybrid dog toy he chews on. Bakugou told little Kirishima to rub the stuff he squeezed on his finger into his gums, but he barely does so; eyes too focused on the bright red bone in Bakugou's other hand.
Knowing that Kirishima has told him he doesn't need both to feel relief, he didn't fight him on rubbing it in the right way and just handed him the toy. The gleaming eyes that had been focused on the bone turned into relaxed, half-lidded ones as he dug his aching teeth into the material. He plopped down on the couch, zoned out while looking at the cartoons playing on the TV through thick lashes.
You could tell his teeth had been bothering him for a while by the way he was in a daze; his little mouth never stopped working. He started drooling all over the toy and himself. Kaminari, who was sitting on the other side of him, tried to take the bone away, but it made the young boy whine and hold on tighter. Bakugou, being the smarter of the two, slipped the bib under his chin and snapped it behind his neck without making the boy stop teething.
The bone became his new security blanket and he didn't go anywhere without it. The only time it was released from his grip was when Bakugou was asked to hold it while the boy went to the bathroom.
Bakugou was in the kitchen with a few others helping cook dinner when Kirishima waddled in and asked to be picked up, bone still in his hands. After a few repositions, Bakugou situated him on his hip while still stirring a pot on the stove.
He heard a bunch of "awww, how sweet" from the others and started yelling at them, prompting Kirishima to try and redirect his attention to calm him down just like he usually would. After a bunch of secret pictures and videos were inconspicuously taken of them, they decided to leave him be.
Kirishima laid his head down against Bakugou's shoulder and watched him cook, bone still being gnawed on in between talking with the blonde about what he was making. Bakugou let him taste whatever he asked to; Kirishima was just happy to be perched on the other's hip and have his attention.
They all started to eat dinner together when Kirishima took one bite and scrunched up his face. Satou told him he had him covered, going in to bring out a plate of backup chicken nuggets just in case the toddler didn't like what was made. The only thing he would eat, besides the nuggets, was what he watched Bakugou make; making sure to tell him how delicious it was.
After dinner, they gave both kids a bowl of ice cream as the group put on a Disney movie for them to watch. Most of the class sang with the movie, making him laugh and dance around.
They got through 1 ½ movies before Kirishima crawled up the couch and asked to sit in Bakugou's lap to finish it out, the same thing Eri did to Midoriya.
The scene in Lilo and Stitch when Lilo and Nani are sitting in the hammock and she places her hand on Nani's palms, Kirishima grabbed Bakugou's hands to do the same.
When Stitch leaves with the book and exclaims how lost he feels, Kirishima started crying and clinging to Bakugou. He tried to calm him down by rubbing his back, not the best at comforting kids but knew that no one knows his boyfriend better than himself. He would normally sit and listen to him talk it out, Kirishima being very outspoken about his feelings, but the little toddler obviously didn't have as good of a grasp on that as the adult he's in a relationship with. Bakugou went to the next best thing he knew worked when he was in an emotionally vulnerable state. He wormed his hand up the back of his shirt and, instead of letting off small pops with his quirk like he normally would, he tried to be as gentle as he could when massaging his tiny muscles. It seemed to work as well as it usually does, making Kirishima even more tired.
When he stopped massaging, Kirishima asked him to continue by wiggling his back. He picked him up and decided to take him to bed, both of them obviously tired. Just as he was about to leave the room with the toddler in his arms, Kirishima asked to get down and bring stuff with him.
Even after being told "no," Bakugou still caved and let him go. He was told he could bring 3 things and to meet him in the elevator when he was done. He walked over to Bakugou proudly showing him his bone, a cute little stuffed shark that they picked out on their shopping trip that he took a liking to, a coloring book picture he made for Bakugou (so it doesn't count in his mind since it's not his ), and a children's book. He opened his arms to get picked up again and Bakugou obliged, knowing they'd get to his room faster if he just carried him.
Once in Bakugou's room, Kirishima started looking around and saw a good bit of stuff with either his name, face, or just didn't fit the Bakugou aesthetic.
"Eijrou," Bakugou startled him out of his thoughts by calmly calling his name.
Bakugou was already in bed with his house slippers neatly placed beside the bed. He had the comforter drawn back and waiting for the child to join him. The first thing he noticed was the shark-printed pillowcase on the empty side of the bed, complete with red tinting from past staining after his hair was freshly dyed.
He put everything on the bed and climbed up. Kirishima handed Bakugou the book as he settled in.
"Wead pleath!" Kirishima asked as he cuddled his back against Bakugou's chest.
"You'll go to sleep after; no fight?" The man asked, noting to himself how much he sounded like his pops at that very moment.
Kirishima vigorously nodded as he held out his pinky as a sign of promise. When Bakugou agreed, he clutched the shark to his chest as he absentmindedly chewed on the bone.
Bakugou didn't even get halfway through the book before he was drooling down the bone and wetting the stuffed shark. He removed the bone as gently as he could and set it on top of the unfinished children's book he had placed on the stand.
He gave him a kiss on the head and decided to get some sleep too.
Kirishima woke him up much earlier than he was used to getting up on his day off. Usually, they spent their mornings cuddling and sharing sweet kisses that led to whatever kind of sex they were feeling that day.
Today, much like how yesterday ended, was different than his usual.
"Kit-ty!" Kirishima shook him awake.
"What time is it, Ei?" Bakugou grumbled, having been woken up one other time in the middle of the night due to him being thirsty.
"Kitty, I thow-wy!"
Bakugou now realized the child was sobbing as he was waking him. He snapped up, thinking he got hurt doing something he should've otherwise known he shouldn't… then he noticed how cold he felt.
Cold and wet…
"Did you piss the bed?!" He asked as he pulled the blanket to find himself laying in a puddle.
"I thow-wy!" Was all the toddler was able to sob out as he clutched the front of his pee-soaked pants.
He didn't mean to be as gruff with him as he was, he just didn't expect to be swimming in a bed full of piss at six o'clock in the morning! Thankfully, it wasn't the first time either of them have had an accident from, what he would later find out to be, a bad nightmare. Bakugou reassured him as he stripped the bed and cleaned the waterproof mattress cover. He gathered everything into their shared clothes basket and grabbed them fresh ones to put on after they get showers.
Bakugou waited until they got washed up to throw the load in. Since no one was up to switch them for him, he'd have to wait on those to be done before they could lay back down.
Kirishima voiced that he was hungry as he sat on the washer beside the one Bakugou had been filling; asking him for breakfast. The older of the two argued that it was too early and he wanted to go back to sleep, but the child insisted on eating.
He caved and took him in to see what he wanted, making him choose something that wouldn't take too long.
That's when a new problem arose… Kirishima absolutely refused to be put down. He was tired, just like Bakugou was, and the only thing that could settle the boy was the blonde holding him. He was still slightly shaken up over his nightmare and bashfully told him his concerns about going right back into it if he was to fall asleep on the couch alone. So he left Bakugou no choice but to find a solution to fix both problems.
He remembered his teacher had given Shinsou a scarf and taught him how to use it after introducing him into their class during their first year. Thankfully, he was as good at picking up after himself as most of the other students.
When he was still young and either of his parents needed their hands, they would swaddle him in this "long-ass blanket/scarf-lookin’ thing," as he affectionately called it. He thought the capture weapon would be close enough as he'd get to the same thing, so he looked up how to make the child wrap.
It took a few unwraps, but he got it so his toddler boyfriend was laying comfortably against his tank top-clothed chest.
"Well, look at you, Mr. Mom!" Shinsou teased as walked over to the kitchen, fully dressed in his hero suit.
"Fuck off!" Bakugou scoffed as he rolled his eyes. "Why you up?" He asked in a hushed tone as to not disturb the sleeping boy.
"Could as you the same thing. Or why you have my scarf…" he said as he pointed at the makeshift wrap.
"It's the only way I could get him to sleep!" Bakugou sighed as he pulled the top down a bit to expose a pair of closed eyes.
"Got scared?" Shinsou asked as he peered over the top.
"Nightmare," Bakugou kindly left out the bedwetting part.
Shinsou hummed an acknowledgment as he nodded, "poor kid."
"Made me make it. Pretty sure it was a distraction; more for him than me." Bakugou plated the food he’d been cooking.
"You saw nothing." He said as he handed the dish to the other, making it known that he didn't want this tender moment being spread amongst the class.
"Fine, but I need that back." Shinsou agreed as he pointed at his scarf.
" Really?! " Bakugou huffed as Shinsou nodded, telling him that he was going out to train.
He unwrapped him and Shinsou helped rewrap him in a big blanket, which he was thankful for since he had to keep more of a hold on Kirishima now that he couldn't help by holding on since he was asleep.
Bakugou sat down on the couch and waited for the washer to be done. The next thing he knew, the washer was buzzing and a naked man was sleeping on top of him. Little pieces of clothes were scattered all over his once tiny body and he was still fast asleep against his boyfriend's chest.
"I got it," a voice assured him from across the room.
"What time is it?" Bakugou asked the same man he'd been talking to before he dozed off.
"Still too damn early!" Shinsou called back as he went to switch the load for him.
"Fair enough," was all he said before going back to sleep.
The next time he woke up, Kirishima was picking him up.
"I made the bed, baby. I'll carry you up, okay?" He warmly smiled down at him.
Bakugou wasn't one to be carried around a lot, but this time he put up no fight as he let his boyfriend return the favor for all the trouble he caused this morning.
"When'd you change?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around the man.
"Dunno, woke up like this… just a little less dressed!" An embarrassed chuckle rumbled through his chest. "Good thing none of the girls were down there to get an eyeful."
“Not like they didn’t see enough of it yesterday. The little Vienna sausage was definitely a shock compared to the swingin' tree trunk you call a dick that’s usually there!” Bakugou chuckled back.
"It's not that big!" Kirishima laughed, use to his boyfriend proudly remarking on how big his length is.
They got up to Bakugou's room and he laid him gently in the clean, freshly-made bed. Bakugou immediately wrapped his arms around the man as soon as he slid in beside him.
"Thanks for takin' such good care of me, 'Suki!" He kissed his head.
"Didn't have much of a choice," Bakugou argued.
"I saw all the pics and videos everyone took. It was so cute! My fav. is the one Shinsou sent me of me wrapped up in the scarf sleepin’!” Kirishima showed him everything he received through texts while he was still a toddler.
"I know we disagreed on kids, but seeing you with little me… you'd made such a good dad, Kats!" Kirishima praised.
"Guess you don't remember me yelling at you earlier for pissin' the bed…" Bakugou quietly reminded him, unhappy with how he handled that.
"One fuck up while you're exhausted doesn't mean you wouldn't be a good parent, Katsuki. No one's perfect, especially when you're not expecting to have that big of a responsibility like a kid thrown at you. For as unprepared as you were, you handled it really well, baby!" Kirishima continued to praise him, making him meet his eyes before continuing. "I'm so proud of you!"
Bakugou leaned forward and kissed him, eagerly accepting the praise that made his heart flutter. It made him feel good that, even with his inexperience, he was able to take care of a child well enough that his partner still wanted a future with kids of their own.
" So, dealing with little me make you want more…?" Kirishima asked, smile evident in his voice.
“Just what the world needs, more dads with anger issues.” Bakugou sighed a chuckle, even though he was only half joking.
“We’ve both grown a lot since our first year, love. I think it’s safe to say that neither of us have anger issues anywhere close to that anymore.” His smile softened thinking about their growth.
Kirishima ran his fingers through platinum spikes, gently scratching over his scalp to relax him.
“What if I fuck ‘em up, Ei?” Bakugou asked, any quieter and he would’ve missed it.
“I know you’re worried, baby, but I trust you’d make good decisions! I’ve seen how you are with my little sisters and Eri! They all love you!” Kirishima ensured, reminded him how much he’s already dealt with kids. “Plus we’ve all dealt with our share of bratty kids during hero training. I could see them startin’ to grow on you!”
“Those kids are all assholes! ” Bakugou corrected him, making Kirishima laugh.
“They kinda were though! But they also were told to be like that for training purposes.” He watched him bounce on his chest with every chuckle. “At least, that’s what ‘Kura and Chi’ said when mom brought them in to help out. ‘Course, they do tend to have a bit of a mean streak in them…” Kirishima noted how alike his twin sisters are to himself at that age.
They lay there talking back and forth about kids for a little while until it went quiet again.
“It doesn’t… worry you they might turn out bad? ” Bakugou broke the silence.
“I think that’s a common fear when having kids. I remember my moms talking about it with one of their friends who had been wanting to expand their family beyond her husband. Mommy told her that fear never goes away, you just get better at figuring out what your kids need from you. Teach ‘em they can come talk to you about anything and mean it! She said that’s where most parents fuck up; they say it and don’t actually provide a safe space for them to openly do that.” Kirishima told him, using what his mother that raised all 5 of his siblings, himself included, said about the topic.
“You really think we could do that?” Bakugou asked, raising his head to look him in the eye. “Seriously?”
“Honestly, yeah! I mean, I’ve been helping my moms raise my sisters since they were born. They’ve, obviously, done more of the work than I have, but I know at least the basics. On top of that, we’ve had to do class stuff based on kids and I do better with that than most of the other classwork.” He reasoned.
Bakugou moved over and laid his head on the pillow beside Kirishima’s, prompting him to turn on his side to face him. Kirishima stroked the backs of his fingers against his boyfriend’s clean-shaven face.
“I really think we could do this, Kats!” He whispered to him, eyes bouncing back and forth between the red eyes in front of him. “I know we could!” Kirishima smiled.
Bakugou leaned in and pressed a sweet kiss to the scar over his eye, then one to his lips just as softly.
“Not anytime soon, but I’ll at least humor the idea in the future,” Bakugou admitted that he’s considering them raising kids when they’re older.
“Yeah?” Kirishima’s eyes lit up at the thought of him caving, even slightly.
“You were cute when you were little! An absolute terror, but cute!” Bakugou joked.
“Oh, please! I’ve heard the horror stories about toddler you! You weren’t a walk in the park either!” Kirishima joked back.
“What d’you mean? I was a goddamn angel! Fuck you very much!” Bakugou playfully corrected him.
“Sure you were, baby!” Kirishima cackled. “Just ask Midoriya, right?” He teased.
They kept joking and laughing; just basking in each other's presence for a few hours on their one day off. The rest of the day, kids were the main topic everyone was talking about. Couples discussing if they’re in their future or not; some disagreeing the same way Bakugou and Kirishima had.
