One Piece x Pokemon story Prompt

Summary:

"Somewhere in the distant region of Galar, an Ultra Wormhole appears without warning at a countryside Pokémon Reserve. Elsewhere, at an unfamiliar place in a world far, far, away, a Wooloo wakes in the care of a cowardly young liar. One who dreams of becoming a brave warrior of the sea."

These are various details for a crossover fanfic idea that is up for adoption and in need of a good home.

If you're looking for a story idea, then feel free to check out all the optional information within. Anyone who likes this idea and want to run with it, please leave a comment so we can mark this as ADOPTED and check out your work when it's posted!

BEWARE: CONTAINS SPOILER MATERIAL FOR ONE PIECE

Notes:

I may not be able to focus on this story as much as it deserves, but the idea of cowardly Usopp being partnered with a cute gutsy Wooloo was too fun to just leave it shelved. I hope whoever adopts this idea has fun expanding on what is listed out and does a great job with it.

Story Details

Working Title Suggestion(s) [free to be keep or change]: "Always Know Where You Are" 🌟

Series Crossover (s): One Piece x Pokémon / One Piece x Pokémon Sword and Shield Versions

Main Character(s): Clover the Wooloo

Additional tags: Crossover, Crossover & Fandom Fusions, Canon Divergence, Humor, Adventure, Action, Action/Adventure, Friendship, Fluff and Humor, Nakama, Nakamaship

Other Additional tags (depending on adopting writer): Cross-Posted on Fanfiction, Pokéfic, slow-burn, Some Romance

🌟 Reason for Working Title Suggestion = While reviewing the details for this plot bunny, I was listening to a randomized playlist of music on youtube. Always Know Where You Are by BBMak from Disney's Treasure Planet soundtrack was included in the lineup. The positive tone/lyrics of the song made it seem like a theme song for everything that Clover and the rest of her friends go through. Naturally, the Adopting Writer is free to keep or change if they have another, more fitting title in mind.

WORKING STORY SUMMARY (can be used/rewritten/dropped by adopting writer)

"Somewhere in the distant region of Galar, an Ultra Wormhole appears without warning at a countryside Pokémon Reserve. Elsewhere, at an unfamiliar place in a world far, far, away, a Wooloo wakes in the care of a cowardly young liar. One who dreams of becoming a brave warrior of the sea."

AVAILABLE DETAILS

* About Usopp's Wooloo

  • Nicknamed: Clover🍀
  • Age: Maturity level suggests that she is in her mid-teens. Her shiny male counterpart is the same age. It's generally implied that Pokémon tend to live/age better than typical animals.
  • Life prior to meeting Usopp = As stated above in the summary, she, her shiny Wooloo friend, and an old Gogoat all lived on a free-range Pokémon reserve in the Galar countryside, home to a mixture of Pokémon that were wild/semi-domesticated, freed by their trainers, or sent there as a form of recovery/rehabilitation. She was born and raised on the reserve but dreamed of one day leaving it in order to explore and go on adventures. She ended up getting her wish when an Ultra Wormhole suddenly appeared one night and whisked her away to a world of Pirates, Marines, and Devil Fruits.
  • Personality wise, she can be curious, cheeky, playful, and very loyal to those who matter to her. She can also have a temper that ranges from pouty to fierce depending on whatever's bothering her. She has something of a bold adventurous streak in her but sometimes gets in over her head. Toes the line between being tomboyish and girly.
  • Likes: Her friends, Exploring, wearing ribbons/bandanas/small hats/etc, dancing to music, being groomed, snuggling, and being sheared when the weather's hot/her wool is too dense.
  • Favorite foods: Clovers, pumpkins, berries.
  • Is perfectly content with being a Wooloo and would not want to evolve. Does she have an Everstone or was perhaps bred to remain one?
  • As she's used to spending time outdoors, Clover doesn't have a problem with getting dirty (especially when it can't be avoided) but has since grown mindful of how hard it can be to clean her wool after meeting Usopp. She learned to enjoy baths and being groomed.
  • Often bleps her tongue, usually when she's bored.
  • She also blows razzberries when she's feeling cheeky/rude/disgusted: writ as "Beh" instead of her usual "Baa"s/translated dialogue.
  • If writer wants her to have a trademark laugh like the One Piece characters, it would be "Baahahaha!" emphasis on the "baa". The shiny Wooloo and old Gogoat would have their own variant of this laugh.
  • With Pokémon being naturally intelligent she understands humans easily (at least if they're speaking in a familiar language). Regarding the animals in One Piece, it just takes her a moment to properly hear/speak to them. Think of it as becoming familiar with someone speaking in a different accent.
  • Usopp, Nami, and later Robin take turns shearing her wool. Whatever wool/yarn/knitted material they don't use for themselves they trade/sell or occasionally give away. The rest of the crew proved too clumsy or questionable to trust with this chore (Zoro tried to use his swords instead of the shearing kit: Clover strongly objected to this).

🍀Reasons behind her nickname= Named so by Usopp to commemorate how he found her in a patch of clover. I can picture Robin being sentimental and thus even fonder of the little Pokémon with her sharing the name of an old friend. I can also see the Marines dubbing her as The Strawhat Crew's Mascot, “Lucky” Clover. Shares Chopper's frustration at not being deemed an equal member of the crew (him being mistaken for a "pet" according to his first wanted poster).

* Syrup Village- The Start of her Pirate Journey = One year before the Syrup Village Arc takes place, she is found unconscious by Usopp, who either goes straight to the local vet/farmer or to his friend Kaya (who uses her good influence to summon the appropriate help).

  • Usopp and the Wooloo become very attached to each other. He recognizes that she's unusually clever for a "sheep" and can usually figure out what she's trying to say to him (except, obviously, when he gets it wrong). When she didn't take part in his shenanigans with the "Usopp Pirates", she liked to accompany him on his visits with Kaya or did her best to keep him and the Veggie Trio out of trouble. She shares the groups' dislike/distrust of Khaladore (later revealed to be Captain Kuro). Often used her cuteness to lessen any annoyance the villagers had towards Usopp.
  • Random idea for the chapter(s) of her stay on Syrup Island= Sometime after she befriends Usopp, Clover's wool finally becomes so dense that it's hard for her move (resulting in her losing her balance while playing with the Veggie Trio and rolling down a hill). Usopp goes to a farmer with sheep (or perhaps Merry? Maybe he grew up working with sheep before he became a butler?) and promises to help do some work in trade for learning how to shear her. Clover was reluctant at first (in the past she just let her wool get pulled short by roaming through shrubs or asking a friendly Pokémon skilled at using cut/slash to trim it), but Usopp proves to be a very dept hand at the chore. He gives her a full shave and she is so relieved to have all that weight off that she scampers around playfully baa-ing "I'm a nudist!" 😆She's completely wooly again by the time Luffy, Nami, and Zoro arrive.
  • One day while they were visiting her, Kaya found some spare material/bits of old doll clothes and playfully dressed up Clover. This introduced the little Wooloo to accessorizing/dressing up and would go on to collect other wearable items throughout their journeys. She wears a bow Kaya put on her up until the events of Arlong Park.
  • Even without being there to witness Jango hypnotizing the Veggie Trio (along with himself), she knew better than to look at his pendant due to the action reminding her of a story she heard from the old Gogoat about an encounter he once had with a Hypno
  • Maybe Usopp entrusted her to guard Kaya and the boys during the battle with the Black Cat Pirates?
  • Initially her one (minor) complaint about the Going Merry is that the figurehead needs to look more like her. Sometime in the next chapter (when Usopp is helping design the Crew's flag) Zoro prevents her from using a dipped paintbrush she snuck off with to try and modify it. She pouts insisting that it would make it even better, but in the end is satisfied with sharing/playfully competing with Luffy for the "best seat in the house".

* Clover thought she was all alone, only to find out that isn't so.

  • The old Gogoat she was friends with is found with Crocus and Laboon at the Twin Cape Lighthouse. Known to her as "Gramps" and nicknamed "Japeth" by Crocus. Much like Crocus and the goat character he gets his name from, Grampa Japeth is practical and wise in his own way, but can be a bit of a troll. In his youth he was originally the loyal companion of a man who often traveled the world before old age made them settle down in Galar. When his owner passed away, there was no one left to take care of Japeth. He was set free from his Pokéball at the reserve so he could live out the rest of his days in peace. He became attached to a pair of nosey, rambunctious little Wooloos (tiny Clover and Blackberry) who often strayed from their flock to visit and ask questions about his travels. He acts as a surrogate grandparent to them.
  • Her best (Pokémon) friend back in Galar was a male shiny Wooloo. Like Clover, he was born and raised on the Pokémon Reserve. While Clover ended up in the East Blue and Japeth a was at Reverse Mountain, he was further out in the New World. He woke up on an island that was under the protection of the Whitebeard Pirates. After a series of misadventures in the woods followed by him being chased by a farmer's dog (who thought the Wooloo broke away from the flock of sheep it was guarding), he's accidentally packed in a crate of produce that gets delivered to port, becoming an unintended stowaway on the Moby Dick. Thatch later finds him in the pantry and mayhem ensues. Once everyone calms down and the Wooloo understand he's not in serious danger, they decide to drop him off at their next stop. Thatch starts calling the shiny Wooloo "Blackberry" since he was caught eating all the fresh blackberries they had in stock and eventually wins the Wooloo over, so much so that he realizes that he wants to stay when given a chance to leave. He's gets along well with the Whitebeard Pirates in general (except for Teach), but is particularly close with Thatch, Marco, Ace, and Whitebeard. His cuteness also makes him popular with the nurses. Wears one of Thatch's spare neckerchiefs. He tagged along with Thatch and Marco whenever they went to Ace in their efforts to earn his trust, though he had his doubts Ace would join the Crew. He eventually grows to like him. Is he present when Teach attempts to kill Thatch for his Devil Fruit? And does he help his human friend avoid being fatally injured? 🫐
  • 🫐 Random Idea: Sour Grapes = What if during the scuffle to protect his friend and foil Teach, he accidentally swallowed/bit into the Dark-Dark Fruit? Teach was forced to run away and still poses some overall threat but lacks his Devil Fruit trump card ('cuz backstabbers suck and don't deserve nice things). Now Blackberry has extra superpowers and becomes a high-level target by the World Government. With Thatch in recovery, he travels with Ace to capture Teach (Ace tried to go it alone, but Blackberry bit him and refused to let go, unconsciously activating part of the Dark-Dark fruit's power so that Ace couldn't phase himself free).

* Are Clover, Grampa Japeth, & Blackberry the only Pokémon in One Piece? Or did a few others get scattered around? Some suggestions (keep or change).

  • Maybe during the Davey Back Fight or well after the competition is over, the Foxy Pirates gain a male Zoroak (and maybe some Zorua, Nickits, and a Thievul. Adopting writer could always have them show up later) in their ranks who was using his illusions to pass as a member of their crew in order to sneak around and watch the games. If his presence is discovered during the Davey Back Fight, he was slotted to be Clover's opponent: he's exposed as a Pokémon both by Clover being able to tell something was off about him and when the crewmember he was impersonating shows up. He insists on competing against Clover. If instead the adopting writer waits until later to reveal him, the disguised Zoroark is hinted at as the Foxy Pirates depart and isn't fully revealed until the Strawhats encounter Foxy and his Crew again after Thriller Bark.
  • When the crew encounters him at Water 7, Garp is accompanied by a male Stoutland (nickname up to adopting writer). Judging by a comment Garp made about him "going through a growth spurt", it was a Herdier when he met it and had since evolved (likely from participating in Garp's crazy work out methods). Maybe Koby and Helmeppo found some Pokémon buddies too?
  • A little Mimikyu for Brook the Skeleton! Is it already with him when the Strawhat Crew meet him as in canon? Or did they find the shy ghost type later during/after the events of Thriller Bark? (Gender and nickname for Mimikyu up to adopting writer).
  • A variety of strange creatures seen in the company of several of the Supernovas during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc? I can easily see a Morpeko gorging itself on food with Jewelry Bonney, a Galarian Meowth with Capone Bege (the mob boss with his cat trope), or perhaps an Obstagoon with Kidd Eustass (for it's punkish look - a steel type Pokémon seemed too on the nose). (Pokémon, their genders/nicknames up to adopting writer).
  • If writer does continue to write on until we meet the Yonko Charlotte "Big Mom" Linlin and her children, I'd imagine any Pokémon on the island or with any of her offspring (a good number of them are sweet/food-based ones) would all be instinctively wary of Big Mom and make themselves scarce around her.

* Some Ideas for the Baratie Park Arc of the story.

  • 🥐Does Zeff have a mated pair of very unique pets (and it's an open secret that all the Baratie chefs dote on them)? If so, this could make them the very first Pokémon Clover has seen in over a year. She (reluctantly) stayed on the Going Merry as she wasn't allowed into the restaurant. Then she spied one of the Pokémon walking along the upper deck balcony and snuck inside in order to confirm what she was seeing. Up to writer if she gets caught soon or after she makes it upstairs with the mystery pocket monsters. Either way a sympathetic Sanji convinces Zeff to let them interact with each other seeing how they all get along. Maybe Clover fights off some Don Krieg Pirates that managed to sneak inside the restaurant and defends them? After the battle the ever-stoic Zeff rewards her by allowing her in the restaurant and even serves her food. (The Pokémon duos' respective nicknames up to adopting writer).

* Some Ideas for the Arlong Park Arc of the story.

  • Clover is shocked and in denial when Johnny says that he witnessed Usopp getting murdered by Nami. When Nami shows up and claims that she did do it, Clover becomes enraged and tackles her down, biting her on the wrist before the others pull her off.
  • Once Usopp's reveals himself and explains that what Nami did was in order to protect him, Clover, still shaken from his alleged death, refuses to leave his side. When they go with Nojiko and learn about Nami's past, she quietly walks out of the house and sits under one of the tangerine trees to think. She is shortly followed by Usopp who sits with her. He says that Johhny & Yosaku just informed him of her reaction to Nami's "murder confession". He apologizes for his part in scaring her, but gently tells her that she needs to make amends with Nami. She begrudgingly agrees, but part of her still hurts from some of the things Nami said in her effort to make them leave. Her stubbornness ebbs first when Nezumi and his followers hurt Nojiko and steal Nami's money, then even more so when she witnesses Nami's breakdown in the village.
  • During the battle against Arlong and his Crew, Clover is prevented from running after Chew and Usopp when a couple of Fishmen recover and try to help Hatchan and Kuroobi with their battles, forcing her to confront them. She gets knocked down with the others when Arlong finally steps in.
  • When Nami emerges from having her tattoo altered, she finds Clover (covered with leaves and a little dirt) waiting for her with a bundle of wildflowers at her side. The little Wooloo removes one of the flowers from the bundle and places it before Nami, nudging it towards her with her nose. When Nami bends down to her level to accept it, Clover timidly licks at the bandage covering the spot where she bit her earlier. Nami smiles and hugs her, accepting the apology. Both of them cry in relief over being friends again.
  • The chapter closes with a parting description of Bell-mère's grave, mentioning Genzo's pinwheel and Nami's tangerine offering (as in canon), with the addition of Clover's bundle of wildflowers, tied together with her bow.🎀

* Some Ideas for the Loguetown Arc of the story.

  • Noticing that Clover misses her bow, Usopp and Nami both purchase something to cheer her up. Along with a saddlebag for her to wear across her back, Usopp buys two pairs of adjustable goggles in her size (matching his own), while Nami buys a variety of bandanas for her to wear.
  • This being the first time Clover meets the Buggy Pirates, she was briefly confused and wondered if Luffy did something to tick off a nearby circus. Does she encounter Mohji the Beast Tamer and his lion Richie? Does Mohji/Buggy/Cabaji note her and Blackberry's similarities when Ace & the shiny Wooloo later crash their party

* Some Ideas for the Reverse Mountain Arc of the story.

  • Would prefer to ignore the anime filler Warship Island Arc; stick to the canon part of the manga where the Strawhats cross into the Calm Belt by accident.
  • Being a Pokémon and with MoMoo the Sea Beast being the only significantly large sea creature she's seen, Clover didn't understand what all the panic was about when Nami said the Calm Belt was a nesting ground for Seakings; needless to say, she quickly learned the difference.
  • Clover (commenting on how Crocus installed doorways and set up an artificial environment inside Laboon): "I don't want him as my doctor! He might put a lightbulb in my skull and turn my head into a lantern!"
  • Once Crocus helps them out of Laboon the Whale's stomach, she is reunited with Grampa Japeth the Gogoat. He tells her that since the two of them made it in this strange new place, then there's a strong chance her friend the shiny Wooloo did as well. She promises to be on the lookout for him and to come back and visit Grampa Japeth. Whether or not he is the first Pokémon she's encountered since they were dimensionally displaced is up to adopting writer.

* Some Ideas for the Whiskey Peak Arc of the story.

  • Clover opted to stay behind on the Going Merry while the others accepted the town's invitation to celebrate. When several Millions (Baroque Work grunts) came aboard the ship in an attempt to raid it, she took them by surprise and sent them all overboard.
  • After planting the bomb on Igaram's ship and sneaking over to the Going Merry to await the Strawhats and Princess Vivi, did Nico Robin remain in hiding and used her devil fruit power to briefly mess with Clover? After whooping bounty hunter butt Clover keeps hearing weird noises, has the feeling she's being watched, and it feels like someone, or something is close to her. Looks around/jumps at every move or sound but can't find the source. Scratches her head with her hand in confusion. Clover: "....Wait a minute. I DON'T HAVE ANY HANDS!!!" 😱 Naturally Robin vanishes the limb before the others can see it. Interaction goes on pretty much as in canon.

* Some Ideas for the Little Garden Arc of the story.

  • She may have grown to like the giants Dorry and Brogy in the end, but Clover never ever ever EVER wants to return to Little Garden, or any island inhabited by prehistoric creatures again. She was trembling with nerves the whole time they were on the island and passed out the moment the Island Eater spat out the Going Merry. Encountering the agents of Baroque Works again made the experience even more unpleasant.

* Some Ideas for the Drum Island Arc of the story.

  • If Adopting Writer goes with the idea of Teach not obtaining his Devil Fruit, does he and his crew still manage to cause problems for Drum Island? Was Wapol somehow still ousted from his kingdom and trying to regain power? Or is he still on the island and ends up overthrown thanks to the Strawhats and island inhabitants?
  • Clover wasn't impressed with everyone's' reasons for thinking Chopper was a monster. She's thrilled to learn Chopper can understand her and even provide direct translations to the rest of the Crew. She encourages the talking reindeer and tells him all about her homeland and all the unique creatures that inhabited it, particularly the deer-like Pokémon (making him realize that his blue nose and mutation as a Devil Fruit user is quite tame). They bond over being unique/intelligent animals and become very good friends with each other.

* Some Ideas for the Alabasta Arc of the story.

  • Does Bon Clay touch Clover's face along with the rest of the Strawhats in order to mimic her form? Or was she on the upper deck with Vivi? 🌈
  • Clover is sheared of her wool by the time they dock at Nanohana in preparation for the intense desert climate. Nami and Vivi purchase something akin to a doggie coat with a small head wrap. She wears these along with her goggles to protect herself from the elements. She does try to tough things out and walk, but still ends up sharing a ride with Chopper on his makeshift gurney or carried by someone else when the heat finally gets to her.✂️
  • Maybe she loses her temper at seeing the Kung-Fu Dugongs beat up Usopp and helps Luffy fight them?
  • When Nami asks what to name the camel, Clover chimes in after the boys that they should call him Sanji Jr. Her brilliant suggestion is ignored.
  • While grateful that the camel helped Chopper, she refuses to personally accept his invitation to ride (up to writer if he flirts with her or just being nice 'cuz she's a girl) because of his pervy attitude/refusal to carry the boys. When she later ends up being carried on Vivi or Nami's lap during their ride and is addressed by him, she responds that "I'm sitting on [Vivi/Nami's] lap. She just happens to be riding you."
  • Is she an observer or contender of pillow warfare? XD
  • What happens with Clover on their way to Alubarna? Does she stay and fight with someone? Or ends up fighting her own opponent?

* Some Ideas for the Jaya Arc & Skypiea Arc of the story.

  • What's her reaction to Masira and, later on, his brother Shoujou? Do they have perhaps have a young male Grookey hanging around with them and Mont Blanc Cricket? (Nickname up to adopting writer).
  • Clover didn't explore Mock Town so she didn't (personally) meet Blackbeard. However, she does have a close encounter with part of his crew as she waited for the rest of their friends to return. Sitting dockside on a stack of crates, she notices Doc Q and his horse ambling by (he already met Luffy, Nami, and Zoro and is now heading towards a meeting point with the other Blackbeard Pirates) and can tell from both sight & smell that the pair are deathly sick. She feels saddened by their conditions at first, until Doc Q spots her staring at them and approaches. The smell of the explosive chemicals emanating from his basket of apples puts her on guard and she is horrified when he offers her a piece of fruit. She smacks it away her braid and runs back onto the Merry, bleating in fear. Doc Q just laughs and comments on how energetic she is as they move along. Back on the Merry, Clover startles Sanji, Usopp, and Chopper as she runs to hide under the kitchen table. Sanji and Usopp have Chopper translate as they ask her what's wrong, and when she tells them how "a super creepy dead man riding a dying horse offered her bad apples" on the docks, they peek outside only to see that he's already gone. Not seeing him, her description plus the mention that he carried a scythe makes them wonder if she had a nightmare about the Grim Reaper. When she insists that he wasn't made up, Sanji tells Usopp that all his lying finally started to have a bad influence on Clover. She jumps up on the table, affronted and with Chopper still translating "Hey! I'm a WAY better liar than Usopp!", launching them into a (harmless) squabble💢. She loses her temper and butts Usopp, making him chase her outside. Their tiff comes to an end when they see that Luffy, Zoro, and Nami have returned (with the first two beaten from Bellamy's assault at the pub). For now, her brush with the "Death God" of the Blackbeard Pirates is all but forgotten.
  • Silly Idea: When Sanji explains the copy of the fairy tale Noland the Liar, Usopp notices Clover keeps glancing between him and the image of Noland on the bookcover. Clover [squints eyes at him]. Usopp: "Hey, what's with that look?" Clover [turns face away]: "Baa (nothing)." Usopp: "Don't "baa" me! You just compared me to Noland, didn't you?!" She does this again when Luffy makes the same comparison later.
  • Later when the Strawhats are about to ride the Knock Up Stream, Teach catches a glimpse of Clover (Usopp was holding the Wooloo as they braced themselves for the journey upwards) as he and his crew try to capture Luffy & Zoro for their bounties. How does he react to seeing another "sheep" like Blackberry? Does Clover in turn spot Doc Q aboard their ship?
  • Once they reach Angel Island, Clover is reluctant to go to shore. When Chopper asks why, she insists that she doesn't feel safe leaving the ship without a parachute on. Chopper: "What's a parahute?" Clover notices Zoro and even Robin's blank expressions to this question, causing her to freeze in horror when it hits her that a basic piece of safety equipment for all manner of pilots and aeronauts back home is virtually unheard of in the sea driven lifestyle of this world (and thus wasn't included in their supplies). Clover (whimpering): "I regret everything about this trip!"
  • Since she stayed aboard the Going Merry, she was taken to the Sacrificial Alter in Upper Yard along with Chopper, Robin, Nami, and Zoro. She stays with Chopper while the rest go exploring. What happens when Shura comes to the alter? After Gan Fall's whistle is blown, does she try to hold the Priest off by Double kicking empty barrels and bits of wood/debris that fell from the trees while Chopper tries to put out all the fires? Does she end up knocked into the cloud river with Chopper, Gan Fall, and Pierre? Or does her natural fighting talent make Shura wonder if his fellow Priest Ohm, an animal trainer, will be interested in acquiring her?
  • If she ends up in the river, she is saved as in canon. If Shura takes her to Ohm, it gives the writer a chance for to write something else until Chopper and Zoro come along and have their respective confrontations with the other Priest. As much as she wants to hurt Ohm for what he did to Chopper, she settles for taking on his dog Holy while Zoro fights him.

* Some Ideas for the Long Ring Long Land Arc of the story.

  • In the Donut Race event: if writer follows the manga, Clover notices Captain Foxy sneaking off shortly after the race begins and follows him, witnessing Foxy using his Devil Fruit Powers to meddle with the Strawhats chance at winning. She either Headbutts him or sneaks up behind him then bleats at the top of her lungs, sending him over the cliff where he hangs on for a moment before crashing down onto one of his teams' boats. If written to follow the anime, she donkey-kicks something off the raft and nails Foxy, either knocking him out or off the cliff to be saved by one of his own competing teams.
  • However the Donut Race is written, Clover remains very moody and vocal about the Foxy Pirates' blatant cheating.
  • She's eventually called out as a competitor under the assumption it would give the Foxy Pirates an easy win, only for her to blindside them with her strength/special moves on them; whether or not this helps her/her team/partner win the game of choice is up to writer.

* Some Ideas for both the Water 7 Arc, Enies Lobby Arc, Post-Ennies Lobby Arc of the story.

  • As they sail on to Water 7, Clover is shown to be hard at work on trying to learn a new move. Their encounter with Kuzan shortly after the Davey Back Fight makes her all the more determined to better protect her friends.
  • Clover is instinctively afraid of Rob Lucci (and later on Jabra), hinting that she can sense the predatory nature of their Devil Fruits. Usopp notices her discomfort at the Galley-La shipyard, but the ensuing chaos from Usopp being mugged, Robin going missing, and learning that the Going Merry cannot be fixed makes her lose track of this (until the truth is eventually brought to light).
  • Clover stays with Usopp as the others beat down the Franky Family.
  • Her loyalty to Usopp shows when she follows him after he refuses to believe the Going Merry is beyond repair and leaves the Strawhat Crew. She hates the idea of saying goodbye to the rest of her friends, but is afraid to admit that she agrees with them out of fear that Usopp will reject her as well. Afterwards when they are sheltered at Franky's Hide-out, her depressed state is noted by Franky & the Square Sisters, causing Usopp to visibly show that he is feeling some guilt over what happened.
  • Does Clover manage to escape with Usopp during the rescue attempt on the Puffing Tom? Or is she hindered by CP9 and thus still held prisoner with Robin and Franky?
  • If written so that she ends up being taken to the Tower of Justice with Robin & Franky, she headbutts Jabra (who is holding her) in the face and is accidentally tossed overboard with Franky when the latter is pushed off the tower, just in time for Rocketman to pass under them before it crashes.
  • She joins Usopp in their search for the keys to Robin's seastone cuffs. Does she stick by him and Zoro when the pair are accidentally handcuffed together? Or does she do as instructed by going with Chopper in search for the key that will free them? Either way, Chopper's monster transformation, brought on by his patented Rumble Balls, causes her to be swatted/knocked outside of the Tower of Justice🪞
  • Trivia on Jabra says that his favorite meal is Lamb Roast ( 0 _ 0 ). Does Jabra threaten to hunt her down and eat the little Wooloo when he's moving to finish Usopp during their fight, enraging the other enough to fight back and make his escape rather than being saved by Sanji (though the latter does tag himself in so Usopp is able to follow canon and be of help elsewhere)? If written so that she was temporarily in CP9 custody, did the nature of his Devil Fruit cause him to harass her for being something his animal would prey on?
  • 🪞Because of all the fighting and witnessing how the CP9 agents fight, Clover has a breakthrough and finally acquires a new move: Copycat. It comes as a complete shock when this move enables her to use Shave in order to avoid falling to her death (she gets a brief glance at Kaku & Jabra or Kumadori using it before she loses sight of them, allowing her to copy it). She exploits the duration of the move to maneuver herself so that she's able to rebound between structures to slow her fall enough to avoid injury, then without breaking stride parkoured her way across the top of the buildings towards the Bridge of Hesitation in order to save Robin from Spandam. It peters out right when she makes her final leap, falling on top of Franky as Spandam's boobytrap sends him flying into the water.
  • What kind of side-adventure does Clover have before Usopp finally apologizes to the rest of the Crew and they all depart from Water 7? Did she encounter a variety of stray Pokémon and helped them find homes with several individuals around Water 7? Not just civilians but including some familiar faces from Galley-La or the Franky Family?

* Random info

  • If written so that both Ace and Blackberry are taken to Marineford (I'd imagine the Marines are rigid/messed up enough where they'd stoop as low as to publicly execute an animal associated with pirates), Ace (and of course Blackberry) make it out alive. Maybe they're able to fake their deaths until the Strawhat crew reunites with each other?
  • Where is Clover during the events of Impel Down/Marineford? Did Bartholomew Kuma slap her away with Luffy? Somewhere by herself? Did she somehow make her way to Marineford to save Ace & Blackberry?
  • When the Crew witness Clover using something similar to one of Sanji's trademark kicks, she tells them through Chopper about her new move Copycat. She tries to copy Luffy's stretching at his prompting, only succeeded in audibly cracking her back/joints. Through trial and error, they come to understand that Copycat has its limits.
  • Her sudden ability to use highly developed techniques (however briefly) eventually leads to her becoming a target of interest by the World Government. Note: She can copy other Pokémon moves just fine, but with abilities used by humans in the world of One Piece, avoid making her version of Copycat overpowered by having it where she can copy anything/everything. She doesn't turn super stretchy like Luffy or spew magma like Sakazuki. However, she does find a unique way to utilize it in order to better pick up on certain things. Like if the adopting Writer goes with the Ice Hunter Arc from the anime, Clover uses Copycat a few times (since this move is new she doesn't pick up on everything right off the bat) on Arbell & Salchow's ice skating as a way to better maneuver herself across the ice. It can serve as a form of training wheels until she gets the hang of a certain physical tasks and in some cases gradually improve her stats.

* Random Ideas

  • 😆= Blame RHJunior for a line they wrote midway through this chapter of their MLP:FIM x Parahumans cross fic for the "nudist" comment. Also, if the writer wants to throw in some affronted normal sheep have at it XD
  • 🥐= If the adopting writer went with the idea that Zeff has two pet Pokémon, when the Strawhats all have their own Wanted Posters after the events of Enies Lobby and the chapter cuts to how their friends/allies react to them, it is revealed that the Baratie has since gained some new addition(s). (Gender(s) and nickname(s) up to adopting writer).
  • 🎀= If Bell-mère's gravesite is mentioned later on in the story during any previews of Cocoyashi Village, suggest that the bow is still around and is occasionally retied to the grave place marker/headstone by those cleaning/visiting it.
  • 🌈= With a great many Pokémon being of one gender, sexless/asexual, and various other identities, Clover wouldn't have any issue with Bon Clay's sexuality as she would him being a very odd and forward stranger. She would also be concerned about his outfit (initially fearing he did something unspeakable to a pair of Swannas ).
  • ✂️ = If the writer follows the anime where Ace travels with them for a while (as opposed to only having a quick visit on their ship), Usopp shears Blackberry's wool off before they begin their trek in the desert. He covers up in a spare scrap of fabric and borrows Clover's extra goggles.
  • 💢 = Some dialogue for Usopp and Clover's petty squabble at Mock Town. 🍀: "You couldn't lie your way out of a paper bag!" 🤥: "That doesn't make any sense!" 🍀: "Your lies don't make any sense!" 🤥: "Cotton Butt!" 🍀: "Chimney Brush Head!" 🤥: "Wool for brains!" 🍀: "Needle Nose!" 🤥: "Lint ball!" 🍀: "Lint ball?!? Why you-!!" [Headbutts Usopp].
  • Some filler chapters featuring the other known (or soon to be introduced) Pokémon that are in the world of One Piece.
  • A silly What-If Omake where Clover was instead found by Killer of the Kidd Pirates and has white KISS like markings painted around her eyes. Got this idea from Retsuko's Death Metal persona from the series Aggretsuko.......Now I'm stuck with the image of a Metalhead Wooloo singing Aggressive Girl.
  • Silly omake = Flee for your lives! Clover learns Dragon Rage! (Not possible for her type but still a funny idea).
  • Guide for what Sheep Can/Can't Eat = Wooloo is obviously an imaginary creature and as such certain rules don't have to apply (i.e. Poké Puffs and other Pokémon related foods if they're somehow made available, plus trainers are often seen sharing some of their own food with them). I just included the link to this list for writers that would like to have a dash of realism to work with.

Also, in a way, the classic fable The Boy Who Cried Wolf = Except in this case the boy also cried pirate/sea monster/marines/evil fishman/etc. and his sheep has the potential to whoop their butts.
