Je T’aime

Summary:

A Cute TidalWave oneshot I made, might turn this into a series, who knows. Btw this is jrwi and complete fluff.

Work Text:

Tide gets out of bed and looks out his window in his bedroom. He opens the window, allowing the beach breeze to fill his room. Tide then gets changed out of his Pajamas and into a Hawaiian Shirt and a pair of cargo shorts. He walks out of his room and into the small space in his house, that doubles as a kitchen and lounge.

“Morning, Mark.” Tide taps Mark winters lightly on his cheek, waking him up.

“What time is it?” Mark asks groggily, sitting up off the couch.

“Breakfast time!” Tide says chuckling to himself. Tide grabs flour, eggs, baking powder, and butter. He lays them out across the counter and grabs a frying pan.

“Does Pancakes sound good to you?” Tide asks cracking an egg into a bowl.

“Sure” Mark replies.

Tide cracks the rest of the eggs and whisks them in the bowl.

“So, what’s got you in such a good mood today?” Mark asks, taking the dishes from the previous day’s meals, and washing them with a sponge in the sink.

“Nothing…” Tide replies, giggling to himself.

“Ok then…”

Tide finishes making the pancake batter and puts the batter into a frying pan. After that Mark finishes doing the dishes and makes his way to the door.

“I’m leaving the house!” Mark yells shutting the door behind him.

“Bye Mark!” Tide responds watching as mark walks away.

Tide quickly finishes making the pancakes and runs into his room, shutting the door behind him.

After about 3 minutes he exits the room holding a small cardboard box.

Tide grabs the plate of pancakes and puts them on a platter, as well as two glasses of water, two forks and knives, and a pitcher of maple syrup.

He puts the small box in his pocket, and while holding the platter, opens the door.

Mark sits on the beach, watching as the waves ripple to him and to the ocean.
He can’t tell what the time is, after all he doesn’t have a wrist watch, nor does the house have a working clock.

He feels like he’s forgetting something, something important. That’s the worst part of forgetting, you don’t know what you forgot.

“Hey, Mark!” Tide yells, walking out of the house towards Mark with a platter of food.

“Oh, didn’t expect you to finish up so soon.” Mark says giving Tide a smug grin.

“Hahaha! Funny, conning from you!” Tide replies.

“Thanks for returning the favor.” Mark laughs looking back into the sea.

A seagull can be heard cawing in the distance as the two sit on the beach, looking at the ocean.

“Here… I have something for you.” Tide says, handing the small box to Mark.

“Wha-“

“Just open it”

Mark opens the box to see a small wooden box with “Je T’aime” carved on it.

“What is this? French?” Mark asks looking over to Tide. Tide laughs a bit, and motions for Mark to open the box.

As he does a familiar tune starts to play a familiar melody. Tide hums to the tune of the song. Suddenly Mark realizes what the tune is.

“Happy Birthday dear Mark~”

“Happy Birthday to you!~” Tide sings, finishing the song.

“Tide, you shouldn’t have. How did you even make this?” Mark asks.

“Don’t worry about it, it’s your birthday today! You should enjoy it.” Tide smiles at Mark, causing Mark to laugh a-bit.

“Thanks, Tide.” Mark Says

“Your welcome.” Tide replies.

They both watch as the sky begins to get darker.

“Well would you look at that. Guess it’s a bit late for breakfast.” Mark says smiling at Tide.

“That’s alright, we can watch the sunset together instead.”

Tide lays his hand on Mark’s as they both watch the sunset go down on the beach. They are happy to be where they are right now. With each other.
