Jane understood that romance was a thing valued by her peers- After they survived the Cyclone incident and knew each other a bit better, Ocean and Ricky had become partners, as had Noel and Mischa. Constance had also found herself a boyfriend- Some rapper named Corey Ross.
Jane knew that this was expected. It was expected for them all to find partners they could grow old with, but she couldn't seem to feel that for anyone, at least not in the same way they described.
Mischa halfheartedly reassured her one evening when they were both drunk enough for her to admit this dilemma to him that she wasn't crazy or broken or a freak. That maybe she'd find someone eventually, and maybe she wouldn't, and it wouldn't matter either way because she had the choir and they would love her no matter what.
She figured he was probably right. He generally seemed more in tune with how people worked than she did, at least.
She didn't need a romantic partner.
Her friends were more than enough for her.
