Work Text:
Raven supposed that Apple had always been passionate. Whether it be a student council meeting, some sort of school event or even the entire debacle with destiny, the witch had always noticed how headstrong and heartfelt the blonde truly was (even if the fervour was sometimes misplaced).
The avian, herself, never quite bothered with the whole school/responsibilities deal; sure she’d taken the consequences of not signing with an easy stride but it wasn’t like she genuinely wanted to start a revolution.
She just wanted to have a choice.
Because of this, chose to stay back in her dorm during the summer holidays (as much as she adored her family, spending her vacation in a cramped and dreary castle didn’t seem to sit well with her palette this year).
And since Apple was just so passionate, passionate about clinging to Raven, she too had decided to stay back and spent the hot summer with her introverted roommate.
At first, the princess suggested they go shopping, or go to that restaurant near Book End or even go to that new float contest they were hosting. But Raven only dismissed such an adventure, after the entire legacy day thing the witchling never really wanted to go outside (because of all the harassment).
Apple huffed and grumpily sat down in her bean bag chair, playfully glaring at her storybook counterpart. She had her arms crossed and face red, a sight that made Raven giggle.
“Still as fiery as ever after.” Raven thought as she stared at her princess, a red flush covering her pale face. It was the first time she had seen the fire in the blonde’s eyes properly, a lovely contrast against her ice-blue eyes. Her plump cheeks only made her face look even sweeter, no wonder no one could say no to this girl, it would be like kicking a puppy, really. The witch had teased Apple about her height in the past but, honestly, her short stature made her determination seem even more impressive; like a mouse standing up to a giant cat.
Raven looked away, a realisation popping into her head as she gawked wide-eyed toward the window.
