Work Text:
Jango Fett, Jetii Kyramud, Mand'alor, slave, beroya, buir, ad, vod. Jango is known as many things; but he has never known himself as a traitor till now.
Darth Tyranus, or as many call him, Count Dooku, is his employer—the same person who killed his aliit on Galidraan. Who helped kill his buir and vod. Left him to die and then was taken as a slave.
Is he betraying his aliit by working for the same man who killed them? Is his hatred for the Jetii so intense that he will work for the kyramud just to kill other Jetii?
He’s not dumb. He also knows the Chancellor of the Republic is also a Sith like Dooku. Oh, how the Republic and Jetii are oblivious to what’s in front of them. Then again, him and his buir were oblivious to the betrayal of Montross.
What would his buir think of him as he donates his blood to be used to make clones? The defective ones being killed because they are different? Mando’s are taught that children are essential, because they are the future. What would he think of Jango as he turns a blind eye to the slaughter of children, regardless of if they are clones.
He would be disappointed in him; he knows it. Maybe he can set aside his hate for Jetii for a while. Instead, maybe he can have some justice. Perhaps he can finally come up to the surface from the drowning of guilt.
Maybe he can finally kill that kryamud.
And why not take out another Sith while he’s at it.
Dooku’s dead; the last face he ever saw was Jango’s, as he looked down at him after stabbing him in the back. Quite fitting, actually, since he did it both figuratively and literally. He can only imagine Arla’s laughter at that.
Now, he’s on the roof of a building, right behind where the Chancellor’s office is. They really shouldn’t have put huge windows in the office, Jango huffs as he readies his sniper.
He takes a deep breath and uses his scope to aim. The bullet will immediately kill the Sith, he’s sure of it.
He takes in a breath and shoots.
Immediately, the Sith dies, his conscience gone, and his guilt flows away with it…
Now Jango can breathe.
