Work Text:

Ritsu winced as he walked by the kitchen window before sliding up onto the counter. A vampire had no place being awake this early and he could already feel the sun glaring down at him from the brief second he passed by it.

“Kuma-kun do you have to sit on my counter while waiting for the tea to boil?” Izumi was stopped in the doorway to their bedroom and leaned against it with one hand. He was dressed for the day save for his usual green coat that normally rested on his shoulders. Ritsu glanced at the way Izumi’s turtleneck clung to his body. He would say Izumi looked attractive if he was any less annoyed at him for waking him up this early.

“Actually, Secchan, it’s ‘our’ counter now,” Ritsu corrected. “And if you had to wake me up this early, then yes, I do have to sit on our counter while I wait.”

Izumi rolled his eyes. He opened his mouth to retort back, but then Leo came from behind him and squeezed through the small gap between Izumi and the doorway. Ritsu let out a laugh at the sight of Izumi stumbling while Leo rushed over to start making his morning coffee.

“Leooooo-kun,” Izumi complained once he regained his balance. “Warn me next time and I’ll move out of your way. Soooo~ annoying!”

“Sena’s always so grumpy in the morning. You should try doing a little dance, it always cheers me up!” Leo smiled. He hadn’t tied his hair up yet and it rested messily over both of his shoulders. Ritsu believed he was truly lucky to be able to see the famous composer like this. He would ask Leo to wear it down more often, but Ritsu would rather save this sight for just himself and their partner.

“No way am I getting all sweaty before my shoot today,” Izumi said in response to Leo’s suggestion.

Izumi moved into the kitchen and started preparing his breakfast and Ritsu looked away from him to watch Leo start up the coffee machine. Ritsu didn’t have an interest in coffee. It smelled too strong and did nothing to help with his usual fatigue. However, Ritsu did have an interest in his boyfriend and, after a few years of observing Leo, Ritsu had picked up on most of his habits. So, when Leo poured water in the back of the machine a little too quickly and some spilled down the side, Ritsu already had a towel to hand him.

Leo looked up at him with that grin Ritsu always loved to see. He accepted it and said, “Thanks Rittsu!“ before focusing back on starting his coffee.

Then, the tea kettle started to whistle.

Ritsu sighed. He didn’t want to stand back up, but, nevertheless, he moved to hop down from the counter.

A hand on his knee stopped him from getting down. He glanced up and was surprised to see Izumi who silently moved to pour the tea for the two of them.

“Oh? Secchan’s helping me out?”

“It’s the least I could do for making you get up this early,” Izumi said quietly as he finished pouring. He set the kettle back on the stove and started to make his way to the table to eat his breakfast while he waited for the tea to steep.

Right when he was about to pass Ritsu, he wrapped his arms around Izumi.

“Hm? What’s up, Kuma-kun?” Izumi asked, but he turned and reciprocated the hug anyway.

Ritsu pulled back slightly and he cupped Izumi’s face in a hand. “Thank you,” he said. A gentle smile was on his face underneath his half-lidded eyes.

“I didn’t do that much, why are you getting all mushy on me?”

“As much as I’m not suited to waking up this early, I know that you just wanted to see me and Leo before you went to work.”

Izumi’s cheeks turned a shade redder, but he smiled as he looked at his boyfriend. “Nothing gets past you, huh, Kuma-kun?”

“I don’t have as much work to do in Florence as you and Tsukipi, so it can get a bit lonely when you’re both gone. But, getting to see you before you left is kinda nice.”

Izumi opened his mouth to speak, but Ritsu interrupted him, “I’m not doing this all the time, though. Waking up this early everyday would probably kill a vampire like me.”

“Having a normal sleep schedule would not kill you.”

“It probably would, but you know what might give me some more energy?”

Izumi narrowed his eyes. As much as he loves Ritsu, he was not going to give him blood right before he had a modeling job. “What?”

“Giving me a kiss.”

Izumi laughed and shook his head. “I thought you were going to be asking for worse. You know you don’t have to ask for one at this point, right?”

Ritsu’s smile became smug. “What, did I scare Secchan?”

“Shut up,” Izumi said and leaned up for a kiss.

Ritsu’s hand moved from Izumi’s cheek to the back of his head to pull Izumi even closer as he met him halfway. The kiss was slow and gentle. His kisses with Izumi often got more intense, but he did not have the energy for that this morning and Izumi could tell. But, that didn’t stop Ritsu from lightly dragging his fangs along Izumi’s bottom lip as they pulled away. As he watched the blush spread across Izumi’s face a smirk grew on his own.

Izumi looked away. He didn’t want to give Ritsu the satisfaction of seeing his embarrassment. He muttered, “That was unnecessary.”

Ritsu giggled. “I love seeing Secchan get all flustered like this.”

Izumi sighed knowing there was no winning against Ritsu who understood him far better than he could even imagine. So instead he went to finish making their tea.

Ritsu hopped off the counter and headed to the table that Leo was already sitting at, drinking his coffee. He walked up behind Leo, wrapped his arms around him, and pressed a kiss to the top of his head before burying his face in Leo’s hair.

“Good morning, Rittsu!”

“Morning, Tsukipi.” He moved his face up and started to run his fingers through Leo’s hair.

“Ah! That feels nice.” Leo leaned back into his touch and closed his eyes. Ritsu smiled down at him while continuing to play with his hair.

Izumi brought their tea to the table and Ritsu kissed the top of Leo’s head one more time before he sat down.

“So, what are you two planning on doing while I’m at work?”

Ritsu sipped his tea and Leo responded, “I think today you scheduled for me to work on a commission that’s due in a few days, but it seems so boring! I keep thinking it over, but I can’t find any inspiration to capture what they asked for.”

“After Secchan leaves I’m taking a nap, but maybe after that I could help you take a look at that commission. I’ve been meaning to mess around on the piano anyway.”

“Composing with Rittsu sounds like fun! We haven’t played the piano together in a while.”

“Yeah, I don’t let just anyone play with me, so you’re pretty lucky.”

“I’m the luckiest person in the whole universe to be able to be with you Rittsu!”

Ritsu smiled as a light blush spread across his cheeks. He is very rarely flustered, but Leo expresses his love so easily and passionately that at times it makes him lose some of his composure.

Izumi finished the last of his breakfast and glanced down at his phone to check the time. “Shit, we should get going,” he said before going to put his dishes in the dishwasher.

Leo stood up and stretched before he went and gave Ritsu a kiss. “I love you! I hope you a nice nap.”

“I love you too. Drive safe and take good care of our Secchan, ok?”

“Of course! Sena always deserves the best.” Ritsu could already see the blush forming on Izumi’s cheeks as he walked back over, but Izumi said nothing and just gave him a quick kiss.

“Love you. See you tonight.”

“I love you too. Make sure you do your best.”

“Hah? You know I always perform my work perfectly.”

“Yeah, Secchan is pretty perfect.”

“You know that’s right,” Izumi said, a smug smile on his face. “Leo-kun, we should leave.”

The two headed down the hallway and Ritsu could hear them arguing over Leo wearing a jacket. Honestly, Ritsu had never imagined living such a domestic life, but with the two of them it was nice. They brought so much light into his life that he wouldn’t mind having to wake up this early everyday to see them even if such conditions weren’t fit for a vampire like him. After being filled with so much darkness for years, he was happy. He no longer had to fear loneliness knowing that these two would stay by his side whether he wanted them to or not.
