Eyes brimming with the sudden threat of tears, Harry can’t help but tilt his head. His lip feels as if it’s about to start wobbling, but he tries his best to prevent it. He’s cried in front of Louis more times than he can count, but the reason for it this time may be dumb to him.
”You think I’m pretty?”
Louis nods, one hand letting go of Harry’s to tuck a loose curl behind his ear. He all but preens at the action he’s come to love since his hair got so long.
”Yes, baby. I’ve always thought you’ve been pretty,” he tells him soothingly. “You’ve always been pretty.”
Letting a tear slip down his cheek, Harry blinks, “But I’m a boy.”
“So? You don’t have to be a girl to be pretty. Your gender doesn’t define that, H. You know that.”
