("All too many times he'd dreamed up a hazy concoction of what his future would look like. He was rather embarrassed to admit to himself now, but back when the delusion had a strong hold on him, Chay had been convinced he and Kim would have a large family of their own. Maybe right after Chay graduated and Kim settled down in his Wik career, they could have their first child.
What a joke, he snorted humourlessly. It hadn't taken long for that love story built on paper cards to crumble down uselessly. But could one-sided love even be considered a full story? Chay was probably only a chapter in Kim's book, discarded away like a footnote no one bothered to read.
