Simon keeps teasing her about it, about the way Clary keeps going on about how much she likes his sister. She thinks he likes it, secretly, the idea that they could be an actual family one day. She hopes so, at least.
Clary knows she's young but she knows how she pictures her future and it's by Rebecca's side. Simon is still her best friend, of course. He always will be.
Her dreams about the future become reality when she turns 19 and Rebecca finally kisses her. It's better than all of Clary's dreams, the real thing. So much better.
