Chapter Text
The Generation of Miracles is the star team of Teiko High School. A team in which each player has his own outstanding and exceptional talent. The Generation of Miracles was known not only for its excellent abilities and various quirks.
They were also known for their hair color.
Full color of the rainbow.
Initially there were 7 of them, the hair literally corresponded to each color of the rainbow. But only 5 of them were widely known. The ghostly sixth has never been seen, noticed or remembered. He was their little shadow.
The Seventh remained on the sidelines, so as not to overshadow the others. He stayed to help other players grow up and watch his team grow. He understood that the sun can never soar in the sky with the stars, so he gave his place to other players so that they could shine.
There was also a Gray one. Gray is completely faded and does not stand out in any way. The color with which others associated with theft, offenses and disobedience. But even the Gray could not compete with the Sun, for which the Seventh received his strong respect.
They all existed in harmony until the Captain of Miracles decided that the Sun was no longer needed. The Seventh was furious about this decision, but the New Captain remained adamant. Realizing that his old friends were no more, the Seventh hated the whole Generation of Miracles and left the world of basketball forever.
This event was followed as a domino effect by the collapse of the entire Generation of Miracles. After the Sun, the Gray One also left. As soon as a New Captain appeared, Blue and Purple disappeared. Green lost its meaning in this and also left, as well as Yellow. There was only a lonely Ghost with a broken heart and a fierce desire to save his friends from their own brightness.
Kuroko was able to gather 4 out of 5 of his friends, to show that there is more to basketball than winning. He was able to make their stars shine again. But how wonderful and joyous this event was, there was one more person who needed to be saved. The strongest player in the Generation of Miracles and the one who started it all. Akashi Seijuro.
And Kuroko had no doubt that they would be able to reach out and defeat him together with his team Seirin with other Miracles and his new light Kagami Taiga, but only
- Your legs are not in in good condition - said the doctor. Sitting here in the cramped office of the hospital, he, like Riko, listens with horror to the doctor's words about Kagami's leg problems.
- What do you mean? - Riko asked, not understanding what went wrong and how she didn't notice it.
To the girl's anxious look, the hospital doctor only sighed and began his monologue
-They're all right so far. But if you continue to jump like this in 3 years, there will be a lot of problems with your legs. You're a basketball player right?
When he received nods in response he continued
- My advice to you is either you change your jump, or get out of basketball, because otherwise in the future you will have a lot of trouble and maybe in extreme cases you will never be able to walk so well again. Of course, this is unlikely, but there is still a possibility. Do you understand me?
Kagami who was still in shock from his diagnosis could only answer
- Yes, Dr. Chihome.
After that, the doctor just patted him on the shoulder with a sad smile on his face and told them
- Well, then I wish you all the best. And now excuse me, I have to go fill out the documents.
The rest of the way from the doctor's office to the exit from the hospital, they all walked in dead silence, from which the sound of their footsteps became eerie. Throughout the journey, each of them pondered the words of the doctor and the search for possible solutions so that Kagami could stay in basketball. But as soon as they went outside, Rico was finally able to break the eerie silence among them
- Kagami, I'll try to do whatever I can with it, but I'm afraid if I don't come up with something, you'll still have to quit basketball.
After these words, Kagami stared at the gloomy sophomore with a shocked look. Riko only looked straight at Kagami with a gloomy expression on her face.
- But tr-
Suddenly Rico abruptly interrupted him, before he could say more than 4 words
-Don't you dare challenge my decision! I won't let another player in my care go to the hospital for life, do you hear me! As a coach, I just can't afford it, so please be ready for it, okay?
Kagami only sighed sharply in response, but through clenched teeth he said
- Yes, Coach.
To this, Riko only nodded sadly and turned her attention to Kuroko.
-Kuroko, I'm asking you to take Kagami home so he doesn't do anything stupid.
Kagami 's shout and Kuroko's quiet voice were heard at this
- I don't need a babysitter!
- Okay, coach.
After that, Rico's face relaxed a little. Exhaling, she simply said, ignoring Kagami's scream
- I'll meet you at practice. And Kagami – at the same time she pointed her finger at him – DON'T. OVERDO. IT.
And then she just turned around and walked away towards her house, leaving Kagami alone with Kuroko.

After taking Kagami to his home, and sitting already in his room, Kuroko could not help but think about what had happened. All this news was extremely unexpected, and no one knew how to deal with it. Kuroko had no hope that the coach would be able to find a solution in just a few days, so he needed to come up with something himself so that Kagami could perform against Akashi. Call him selfish, but he really wants to defeat Akashi with the help of Kagami and Seirin. He wants Kagami to fulfill his dream, and he wants his Old Akashi, who disappeared in the 3rd year of Teiko.
But he has no idea what to do and it's starting to drive him crazy. He wants to help, but playing and teaching are two different things. One of which he can do, and the other... not. Suddenly he was pulled out of his thoughts by the barking of Nigo. Realizing that Nigo was pointing at something, Kuroko turned his attention to the object. It was his phone. An old phone, a clamshell that he changed at the beginning of his first year of study at Seirin. But why does Nigo need it?
Suddenly something clicked in his brain. Miracles. His friends will surely be able to help Kagami, because they all want Seirin to defeat Rakuzan. Maybe they can come up with something to save Kagami.
With renewed hope, Kuroko picked up his phone and called Momoi. It took no more than 2 rings as a cheerful voice sounded on the other side of the connection.
- Tetsu-kun!
- Hello Momoi-san we need to talk…
