Chapter Text
Tomura lifted his head at the sound of a chair sliding in front of him. His eyes landed on a small figure pulling out the chair. They made eye contact; Tomura swore he had never seen eyes that big.
Was the kid a foreigner? Well, that was a stupid question, obviously he wasn’t.
“What is it?”
Tomura’s words came out as low grumbles, he didn’t want to scare the kid. The boy already looked on the verge of tears just standing there. He was meek, that much he knew. The boy didn’t have a scent, the only thing he could smell on him was faint detergent.
He must have not presented yet; he did look quite young. The boy stood next to the chair, his hands trembling slightly.
“I- I just, well I usually sit here about this time of day, and you were by yourself… so I, um, I thought that I’d ask if I could join you…”
Tomura’s eyes widened slightly; the boy was quite cute. He spoke with a studder, his eyes never fully set on making eye contact.
He gestured to the boy, watching as he sat down.
He had only come to this cafe because of Toga, the girl had sworn that their food was top tier. It was also a cat cafe, which the girl said, “would remove the ugly smile from his face.”
Though he couldn’t say the girl was wrong, the food was delicious. He bought the cheapest thing on the menu, and it was still as delicious as any expensive restaurant.
He watched the boy place his sachet next to him, pulling out a small notebook along with a few pencils and a textbook. Now that he thought about it, it was exam season.
“What’s your name?”
The boy looked up from his papers, his eyes steadying a bit. He smiled at Tomura, his eyes crinkling.
“Midoriya Izuku. What’s your name?”
Midoriya Izuku, it was an uncommon name. Though, it really fit the boy.
“My name is Tenko.”
Giving him his birthname was definitely not a good idea. He’d probably never see this kid again though. It didn’t matter whether he knew his name because they’d most likely never meet again.
He watched the boy flip to an empty page in his notebook, what was it that he was even studying?
“Ten-ko, I see. Do you mind me asking what your quirk is?”
Tomura’s eyes widened slightly at the boy’s question. He investigated the wide pools of green brimming with curiosity. There wouldn’t be any harm in telling him, would it?
“Decay, I can decay anything as long as I touch it.”
Maybe it was best to keep it vague, he didn’t know if this boy was some type of spy. He rested his hands on the table in front of him, fidgeting slightly.
“So, you decay things with your hands? Is it something that you can’t control well? Does it have any effects on your body? Have you tried decaying without your hands?”
Tomura paled at Midoriya’s fast words; the boy had his arms propped on the table leaning over towards him. He blanched at how close Midoriya’s face was, so close that he could have counted the boy’s freckles if he wanted.
“What are you,” Tomura couldn’t help the deep chuckle that surfaced at the energetic boy. “Are you some type of professional analyst?”
Tomura studied Midoriya, seeing nothing of the timid boy who asked to sit with him. It was really cute; he couldn’t ignore the thought. The boy would be a cute omega. He leaned toward Midoriya.
“How’d you know I could only use decay with my hands? What made you think I couldn’t control it well?”
He couldn’t resist indulging the boy, he could relax just this once.
Midoriya smiled bashfully, lowering his eyes to Tomura’s gloved hands.
“Ah- Well, your hands are covered and it’s not cold outside or anything. You’re not even wearing an outfit that needs gloves, it, uh, it stands out quite a bit.”
Tomura praised the boy; he was smart and he watched his surroundings. He would have loved to have him in the League, but the boy obviously had other plans. He looked down at the UA pamphlet sticking out of the boy’s textbook.
“You’re great at observation kid. Now I must ask what your quirk is. Some type of enhanced vision?”
The easy smile on his face dropped at the boy’s sudden mood change. His shoulders had begun to drop, and his head hung low. He opened his mouth slightly, licking his lips before closing them again.
“Well, I-““DEKU!”
Tomura turned towards the loud disturbance. Eyes red like his own glared at him. This kid was an alpha, definitely. But what did he want with him? There was no “Deku” around here.
He turned back to face the boy. As he was about to ask Midoriya to continue speaking he noticed him sliding his belongings back into his bag. He could even see a sigh escape the boy’s lips.
Midoriya looked up at him, the sparkle that was in his eyes moments prior nowhere to be found. This was the boy who had asked to sit with him. Tomura could only wonder what changed, though, when he heard the angry stomping get closer, he had a small guess.
“Midoriya, do you know this-““Of course he does!”
Tomura disregarded the blonde annoyance; he was starting to get tired of him interrupting.
“Uh, yeah, Tenko-San this is Kachan, my, uhm, my friend!”
Tomura had to say that he liked the way Midoriya said his name. He glanced at the blonde, the boy’s hand resting on Midoriya’s now standing shoulder. He just didn’t like this kid; he was annoying as fuck.
“Hah! That’s what this loser told you?” The boy, attempted, to glare menacingly at Tomura. Only getting an eyebrow raise in return. “I’m gonna be this nerd’s mate!”
Tomura’s eyes widened slightly at the revelation. Ah, what a waste, Midoriya was cute. He looked up at Midoriya, he really didn’t smell anything on him. Did he have some type of condition? He really believed the boy hadn’t presented yet, he smelled just like a newborn.
Now that he looked at him, Midoriya looked about fourteen. Perhaps he only had the UA pamphlet as motivation? It really doesn’t matter to me, he thought.
He watched as the blonde gripped Midoriya’s shoulder tightly, Midoriya’s slight wince startling Tomura. Honestly, why was the blonde acting like that?
“Yeah, this boy is going to be my wife and I’d prefer if he didn’t hang around with other Alphas!”
Tomura frowned at the boy, that attitude really wouldn’t get him anywhere.
“Mm, but we had such a fun time talking…” Tomura glanced at Midoriya, an easy smirk laying on his lips. He almost snorted when Midoriya’s face got hot.
They had only been talking for a few minutes, so what if he neglected to tell him that he was an alpha. He had neglected to tell him a bunch of things, like; that he was a criminal.
He lifted from his seat, scooting the chair back under the table.
“Well, bye Midoriya, would love to finish talking sometime.”
He smiled at the boy before turning around and walking off. He listened to the boy’s conversation as he walked away.
“Kachan, I haven’t presented yet. I could very well be an Alpha. Stop telling people that we’re going to be mates!”
Oh, so he was correct. Maybe he would be seeing more of the boy.
