Chapter Text

"Mamma said that when the Klaxosaurs first invadat if she ever felt small or hopeless, she’d look up at the stars. She said she wondered if there was life out there. Turns out she was right. She was just looking in the wrong direction.”

Within the deep black of the Pacific sat the Mariana Trench, the deepest known point on the planet. The deepest point of the Trench, Challenger Deep, was a relatively inactive place. Suddenly, that began to change as bolts of electricity began to illuminate the deep and leap between rocks. While a rift that resembled a burning fire opened deep within the trench.

“When alien life entered our world, it was from deep within the Pacific Ocean. A fissure between two tectonic plates, a portal between dimensions. a Breach if you will. Brother and I were only 2 when the first Kaiju made land near Coreopsis.”

Running through the foggy and arid landscape that almost entirely covered the planet sat a canyon with a bridge connecting the two cliffs and a heavily fortified structure with gun emplacements. The bridge led to one of humanity's many mines where they harvested magma, a substance they harvested from the planet's core for energy. 

Then suddenly, An enormous 300-foot-tall beast emerged from the fog and attacked the bridge to the magma mine. But unlike the biomechanical Klaxosaurs which were usually much bigger, this monster was an actual biological organism. It rammed its massive claws into the structure. It had two sets of arms, with a massive ax-like crest on its head. Two orange eyes glowed above a mouth that glowed of pure fire. It tore the bridge apart, sending vehicles spiraling into the canyon below. 

Nearby gun turrets began to fire upon the creature, only for the shells to detonate harmlessly on the beast’s tough hide. It then swung its tail using its diamond-shaped endpoint to destroy the emplacements. As smoke overtook the scene, only its haunting eyes and a gaping maw filled with thousands of shearing teeth could be seen.

“FRANXX were deployed to intercept the Kaiju. It took 3 units, 6 days, and 35 miles before it fell. Even then, 3 facilities had been destroyed. They mourned the dead, memorialized the attack, and moved on.”

At a different facility, parasites were pointing at a column of smoke in the distance, before a titanic monster appeared right outside, shrieking and sending everyone panicking.

“Only 6 months later, the second attack hit Fritillaria. Then the third hit Amaryllis. And then the fourth… Only then, did they catch on. The kaiju attacks weren't going to stop, it was just the beginning. The Klaxosaurs were creating a new strategy against us, these biological weapons, were an adaptation. To face this new threat, Humanity also needed to adapt. So humanity made a new weapon, a new type of Franxx. the Jaeger Program, the Doctor had called it. The last time I saw my brother, he would be the pilot of one of the first Jaegers…”

“And then what?”

Ichigo asked as she, Kokoro, Ikuno, Miku, and Naomi all sat around Zero Two in the girls' dorm room, waiting anxiously for her to continue her story. Zero Two simply shrugged with a disappointed sigh.

“I don’t know. I haven’t heard anything about him or the Jaegers since”. Most of them sighed with disappointment, while Ikuno simply adjusted her glasses. “While we’re on the topic, I have a question,” Ikuno asked. “What was your brother like?”

The rest of the girls lit up with curiosity and fascination at the question while Zero Two simply crossed her arms as she thought. “He actually looked a lot like My Darling, only his hair was a bit bluer and he was a bit taller. His eyes were a mid-tone cyan color, and instead of horns like mine, he had small light blue spikes running down his back.”

the girls began to piece a picture together in their heads while she continued her description.

“As for what he was like? His code was 054 but Mamma and I always called him (Y/N). He was a bit aggressive and standoffish, but he protected me and loved me” Her expression sank into one of grief and sadness, clearly missing him. As the girls sat and tried to put together Zero Two's description, an alarm went off as Nana’s voice came over the speaker.

“ATTENTION SQUAD 13! REPORT TO LAUNCH BAY IMMEDIATELY!”

As the girls got off the beds and stepped near the door, they heard clamoring and the patter of the boys' footsteps running past the door. They then opened the door and followed them towards the launch bay.

When the girls reached the launch bay in their drivesuits, they saw the boys watching in amazement as a new mech had been docked. The frame was humanoid like the FRANXX but lacked almost any facial features other than a robotic visor. It was much more bulky and armored than the slim and slender frames of the FRANXX. The main paint job was a deep sea blue paired with red accents. Meanwhile, the non-painted areas showing the simple gray of the machinery. The machine’s visor was gold with two antennae-like structures coming from the side of the helm. There were two large cannons mounted on the shoulders and two salvo launchers mounted on the chest.

“PARASITES! ATTENTION!”

As the squad formed up in a line, Nana came along with Dr. Franxx, along with someone else who few seemed to recognize, except for Zero Two. As her eyes widened in shock and amazement, she realized the newcomer resembled Hiro, only with dark cyan eyes and slightly longer hair. He was taller than them by a considerable margin and was covered in scars. The most prominent scar was one that started at the base of his eye and led down just above his lip. But most noticeable was the set of blue spikes, that shared an uncanny resemblance to Zero Twos’ horns, running down his back. Franxx nodded to Nana then stepped between them and the new mech with the newcomer at his side.

“Greeting Parasites, I’m sure you’re aware of this new ‘FRANXX’ so I won’t waste time and get to explaining,” he said dismissively, waving his hand in the general direction of the mech.

“This is not a FRANXX at all, but a Jaeger. A new line of dual-piloted mechs that have been created to combat the kaiju menace.” He then pulled out a device that projected a holographic image of a kaiju.

“We’ve contained several hibernating specimens in sites around the globe but little is still known about the beasts. We only know that they were created by the Klaxosaurs via unknown methods. their blood is toxic, they’re cannibalistic, and far too destructive and heavily armored for standard FRANXX to combat effectively. The Jaegers are the best-known counter to these monsters.” The squad's eyes scanned over the massive machine as he continued to talk. 

“While slower, they’re more heavily armored, armed with specialized weapons to combat the Kaiju, and equipped with a new operating system we call The Pons System. Both Pilots' minds are neurally linked, much like a FRANXX, but both pilots take up active combat during operation.” He then gestured towards the Jaeger with his cane.

“This one specifically is the Mark-6 Jaeger: Azure Defiant. It's one of the newest in operation.” He then placed his hand on the Parasite next to him. “And this is 054, the main pilot of Azure Defiant. He will show you how to effectively operate a Jaeger.”

Fifty-four nodded to the doctor before stepping forward, shooting a dirty glare at the old man. “Listen up! The Jaegers, while similar to your FRANXX, are more difficult to master. I’ve heard good things about Squad 13 so I expect your best, Understood!?” The parasites affirmed in unison. Nana then nodded and dismissed the group as she and the doctor walked off. Almost immediately, Zero Two rushed forward and embraced Fifty-Four in a hug.

“(Y/N)...Brother, it's you!”

Fifty-Four, or (Y/N), then hugged her back. 

“Hello Sister, it's been a long time. I’ve missed you so much.”

As Zero Two let go of (Y/N), he stepped forward to inspect Squad 13. “I do hope my sister hasn’t been of any trouble around here,” he chuckled.

“No sir, she’s been quite helpful,” Hiro spoke up, earning a smug grin from Zero Two and an appreciative smile from (Y/N). Zero Two stepped forward and from behind him, put her hands on Hiro's shoulders. “Brother, this is my Darling.”

Suddenly, all enthusiasm on his face vanished and was only replaced with menace as he stared Hiro in the eyes. The latter began sweating bullets as the former approached and seemed to examine him before speaking in a cold and calculated manner.

“Code: 016, Hiro, the Stamen of Strelitzia,” he said, extending his hand toward Hiro. “Can I trust you to keep an eye on my sister?”

Hiro gulped before shaking his hand and nodding firmly. Suddenly, alarms began to blare as Nana ran back to the group.

“Fifty-four, two kaiju have made land near the Gran Crevasse, we need Azure Defiant on the miracle mile to intercept”

(Y/N) then shot her a confused look before responding,

“With all due respect Ma’am, my co-pilot is dead, I’d need a new one to get out there”

Nana stood there, thinking for a moment, before staring at the group and uttering…

“Fifteen”

(Y/N) stepped into Azure’s cockpit or Conn-Pod while waiting for his new copilot, already donning his drivesuit, as he looked around the confined space and observed the age and damage. He’d been Azure Defiant’s pilot for about 4 and a half years now but with how much damage and chipping of the paint, you’d think he’d been doing this for more than 15. He sighed as he thought about his previous co-pilots who died because of his blood, because of him-
Suddenly he was snapped out of his thoughts by the hiss of the Conn-Pod door opening. He turned around and saw Ichigo in the same jet-black drivesuit he was. He cracked his neck and sighed before speaking,
“I’ll take the right side, you’ll take the left, that alright?”
she smiled and nodded before they both stepped into the boot clamps as systems hooked up to them and the HUD of the Conn-Pod sprang to life and the door was locked. Suddenly, Nana’s voice came through the radio,
“Azure Defiant, this is 007, prepare for neural handshake”
(Y/N) turned to look at Ichigo who was doing a good job at hiding the fact that she was nervous, she’d been briefed on the basics of Jaeger Piloting but she was still pretty new to all of this. “Listen Ichigo, remember, don’t chase the RABIT. Random Access Brain Impulse Triggers. Memories. Just let them flow, don't latch on. Tune them out. Stay in the Drift. The Drift is silence.”
Her face became determined and nodded as she took in the information. They both let out a deep breath as the A. I voice spoke…
“Neural Handshake Initiate''

You’ll be Zero Two and you’ll be Fifteen, Hiro gave me my name, Ichigo. I’ll become a FRANXX Pilot, took me away from sister and Mamma, I didn’t want to go. Saraba Tomoyo, it means friend. Hiro is my friend, why did Naomi get picked to ride with him? I’m a pilot now, 29 drops, 29 kills, still I think about my sister. Is she okay? Is she safe? Where is Zero Two, she calls him “Her Darling” that bitch, he should be mine. I think I love him. Why isn’t it me? Why? Eight-four-two died, Kaiju, why do I kill everyone I meet? I don’t mean to hurt anyone, Why can’t I save them, why?

Both Pilots snapped back to reality, Ichigo taking deep heaving breaths and gasping as she adjusted to the drift.
“Ichigo! Are you alright?” (Y/N) called out to her,
her breathing slowed as she smiled and nodded. Just then, Nana’s voice came through again “Azure, engage pilot to pilot calibration”
(Y/N) lifted up his Right arm and in his suit hand was a sensor of some kind with a button between the finger and the thumb.
“Right Hemisphere calibrating” He announced
On her own, Ichigo lifted her arm, seeing she had the same kind of sensor on her left hand, then without even thinking, words came out of her mouth.
“Left Hemisphere calibrating”
Then in sync, both pilots put their closed left fist into the open palm of the right hand which then closed around the fist, forming a fighting stance. Azure’s massive form did the same. As the pilots lowered their hands and the mech shook, Ichigo stared to her left in shock,
“H-how did I do tha-”
before she could even finish, (Y/N) explained.
“The drift goes both ways, I see your memories and you see mine”
She looked up at him in confusion and anxiety but he only nodded and smiled at her “you did good, I see why Nana made you team leader”
“Thank you” she responded
before looking out the view of the HUD to see they were being lifted into the air and off to the Crevasse.

“But… don’t call my sister a bitch again”

As the Jumphawks carried Azure Defiant closer to the destination, Nana’s voice came through the radio.
“Azure you’re up against two kaiju, Codenames: Acidquill and Copperhead, Categories: 3 and 4 respectively. Your job is to remain at the miracle mile and ensure they do not reach Cerasus, copy?”
(Y/N) confirmed the order but Ichigo answered back with concern,
“Ma’am there’s still a mining vessel in the area-”
but before she could finish, Nana cut her off.
“Fifteen, you’re defending a city of 3 million people, you will not risk those lives for a ship that holds ten, am I clear?”
Ichigo sighed before confirming the order and disengaging the radio.
“Man, that’s cold. ''
Ichigo turned to look at (Y/N) with a determined look in her eyes.
“You’re thinking what I’m thinking?” She asked,
(Y/N) only smirked and nodded, “Let’s go hunting”
He then spoke into the radio and hit a few buttons before Ichigo heard a loud clunk,
“Azure Defiant reaching target zone, disengaging transport”.
Both Pilots braced themselves before with a massive impact, Azure hit the ground and blared a large horn. As the dust cleared, they could see their opponents closing in on the vehicle, but they’d gotten their attention with the horn.

Acidquil was bipedal with seven limbs: two arms, two legs, two tendrils, and a tail. The Kaiju's arms seemed to be significantly larger and stronger than its legs, striding on its knuckles. The two tendrils seemed to be coated in a vivid blue acid with spines on the tail being coated in that same material.

Copperhead was much bigger, a quadrupedal Kaiju with six eyes, three on each side of its face, and a thick, craggy hide that resembled cooled magma. The skin of its underbelly and chest was cracked and underlined with red bioluminescence that resembled lava.

Both the kaiju turned and roared at Azure before Copperhead charged. Azure strafed out of the way and delivered a heavy rocket-powered punch to the side of the beast's head, knocking it to the floor. They turned around and saw Acidquill approaching, they reached and grabbed its left shoulder and threw a powerful punch to the kaiju's head, but without heavy armor, like its counterpart, Acidquill’s left eye ruptured and sprayed its blue blood everywhere. They reached again and this time grabbed its right shoulder and delivered another punch, this time to the creature's right flank with similar results. With the kaiju blinded, Azure Defiant grabbed the blinded Acidquill and threw it into a rock formation. They reached once more with the left fist but the creature caught its first attack, but without being able to see, the monster couldn’t see the next attack, the right fist delivering another rocket-powered punch that sent the creature reeling back in pain. In the cockpit, both the pilots spread their arms, triggering a mechanism on the front of Azure’s chest. Extending the Hornet Salvo Launchers forward before firing their payload, 18 K-Stunner Warheads directly into Acidquil. The warheads burrowed their way into the kaiju flesh before detonating creating enormous damage. Acidquill gave out one final before falling backward and collapsing dead, its tongue hanging uselessly.
The pilots then turned their attention to the mining vehicle and were about to pick it up before a roar from behind grabbed their attention, they turned around and saw Copperhead back on its feet. (Y/N) quickly reached down and grabbed the vehicle before turning to Ichigo.
“ADJUST THE TORQUE!”
“I’M ON IT” She confirmed,
and with her free hand, hit some buttons on the same stand that held the radio, rotating the Jaeger's upper torso so that the vehicle was just out of reach. Copperhead then charged at Azure Defiant, but the Jaeger strafed around and caught its head with its free hand, and set the vehicle down behind. They then spun around and delivered a heavy punch to the right side of its head, then the left side, and then lifted their arms above their head, locking the elbow joint, and bringing the fists down on Copperhead's skull. The enraged beast then leaped at them with its open jaw and tried to grab the Conn-Pod, but Azure caught its mouth with its left arm, the armor withstanding the shearing teeth of the beast. (Y/N) then, with his right arm, grabbed the Kaiju by the throat and held it up against the rock formation.
“I’LL HOLD IT! HIT THE THUNDERBOLT!”, he yelled
as (Y/N) held their opponent back, Ichigo looked around the Conn-Pod and saw a button on the ceiling stand that read ‘THUNDERBOLT’. She hit the button and moments later, the shoulder-mounted cannons slid forward and aimed themselves at the kaiju. With an electrical whir, the guns began charging. And after about 8 seconds, the guns fired off what seemed to be an actual lightning bolt into the head of the Kaiju as (Y/N) released the steaming carcass, or what was left of it. Both pilots took a sigh of relief before (Y/N) pressed the radio,
“Azure Defiant to command, both targets neutralized, requesting evac.” After a few moments, Nana’s voice came through,
“Copy Azure Defiant, evac en route, eta 5 minutes. Good work,”
(Y/N) let go of the radio before Ichigo spoke into the radio,
“Command be advised, we have survivors, possible medical attention may be required.”
Nana confirmed that medical teams were en route with their evac before (Y/N) turned towards Ichigo
“Not bad, kid.”

Chapter Text

Hiro folded his sheets, putting them neatly in a stack at the foot of the bed. Zero Two and the rest of the squad agreed to meet up in the courtyard. He Planned on joining them, he just had to complete his chores first.

Suddenly, the door to the room swung open, Hiro looked around and saw (Y/N) standing there with a menacing look on his face, his arms crossed and his fists clenched. He knew this wasn’t an amicable visit, In fact, he had a hunch he already knew what this was about.

“H-hello (Y/N),” Hiro started “Can I help you with somethi-”

Before he could finish, (Y/N) pinned him against the frame of the bunks, similar to how Zero Two would. Just with a lot less love and a lot more rage.

(Y/N) stared the Stamen in the eyes and he bared his teeth, revealing his canines similar to Zero Two’s.

“Hear my words 016…” He growled, “You will listen and not speak a word, understood?”

Hiro fearfully gulped and nodded quickly. (Y/N) squinted and sighed.

“Look…” He started, “You clearly make my sister happy…happier than I’ve ever seen her”

His gaze steadied as he glared at Hiro, his eyes began flashing an iridescent cyan.

“But if you EVER break her heart…” (Y/N) began, growling, “I will break…every bone in your body..” 

A cold sweat ran down Hiro’s neck.

“Am I clear?” (Y/N) growled.

Hiro swallowed in fear, composing himself before he responded with utmost certainty

“Crystal…”

(Y/N) took a deep breath as his face relaxed and the glowing of his eyes disappeared.

“Good” he growled, “I’m glad we could reach an understanding”

He patted Hiro on the shoulder before leaving the room, as well as leaving Hiro in confusion.

Ichigo sat in the launch bay, watching Azure Defiant undergo repairs and cleaning. As the crews were reloading the Hornet Launchers, she noticed they also seemed to be modifying the arms of the Jaeger.
“Beautiful, ain’t she?”
She turned around and saw (Y/N) standing, staring proudly at his Jaeger.
“Solid iron hull, no alloys. Forty engine blocks per muscle strand. Hyper-torque driver for every limb and a new fluid synapse system.”
He then sat down next to her.
“I just got off with the old man,” he announced. “You’re my new co-pilot now”
Ichigo stared at him in shock, her eyes widening.
“What about Goro?” She asked “Someone has to pilot Delphinium with him”
“Naomi will take over that part, they already tested and they’re compatible” (Y/N) assured her.
That answer seemed to satisfy her as her facial expression calmed before she went back to admiring Azure Defiant. The crews seemed to be loading blue fuel cells and some kind of particle accelerator into the arms.

“What are they doing?” Ichigo asked.

“Apparently, the brass didn’t think Azure was well armed enough,” (Y/N) explained “Those are prototype I-19 Plasmacasters they’re implanting into the arms.”
Ichigo just looked at him with confusion, as she had little to no idea what he was talking about.
“Plasma Cannons” He confirmed.
She nodded, before sitting in silence for a minute. Suddenly, Ichigo grasped her shoulder in pain. (Y/N)’s eyes darted to her in concern.
“Are you alright?” (Y/N) asked. She nodded in response, but he wasn’t buying it. He reached out to inspect the cause of her pain but was stopped by Ichigo,
“Seriously (Y/N)...I’m fin-”
“Ichigo…”
She looked up and her eyes shot wide open, his face was a cold glare with his eyes slightly glowing. Ichigo recognized this expression. Zero Two had a similar one after she’d slapped her.
She reluctantly relented and let (Y/N) continue. He pulled her sleeve up to her elbow and saw something that made his breath stop.
A blue tumor reached down her arm, stopping right before her wrist. (Y/N)’s expression sank into one of sadness and regret before he let her arm go. He knew what this was.

“How long has this been here?” He asked

“About a day,” Ichigo answered, her face also sinking.

“I’m sorry,” he muttered, “I should’ve told you”

She looked up at him in curiosity.

“It happens to everyone who pilots with…”

He looked down at his hand with traces of anger and regret-

“One of us…”

She put her hand on his shoulder, “It’s not your fault, I was assigned to you.”

“Even still,” he muttered, “I should’ve said something.”
Ichigo chuckled. “Do you really think Nana and the doctor would’ve changed their minds?”
He smiled and sat in silence for a moment.
“Actually, there were a few things I wanted to ask you,” Ichigo began.
“Go ahead” (Y/N) responded.
“During our drift, I saw memories of someone you called momma. Who was that?”
His face contorted in surprise before sinking into deep thought.
“I never really knew her name. But I guess you could say she raised me and Zero Two. She wasn’t like the others who just saw us as some experiment. Instead, she actually cared for us and raised us. But one day, she was taken away and I was shipped off to be a pilot, but I’ll never forget her. She taught me a lot of the stuff I know now, even an old language.”
Ichigo’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Oh really?” Ichigo stated, “What was it?”
“She called it Japanese,” (Y/N) smirked “Watashi wa okoru to nihongo ni suberikomi-gachidesu”
Ichigo’s eyes lit up with fascination as (Y/N) continued to think.
“Actually, I had a question for you too,” He started.
Ichigo turned and looked at him, waiting to answer.
“In the drift, you seemed to really hate my sister, why?”
Ichigo gulped as she saw (Y/N) begin to scowl a bit which would make sense, one of her memories WAS her calling Zero Two a bitch after all.
“I…don’t exactly hate her,” She explained, “She just…appeared out of the blue one day and started calling Hiro ‘her Darling’ and acting really-”
Before she could finish, (Y/N) cut her off.
“So it's all about Hiro, is it?” He asked.
She was silent for a moment before reluctantly nodding. But to her surprise, he didn’t seem mad. If anything, he seemed satisfied.
“You grew up with him, didn’t you?” (Y/N) concluded. “Hiro was the one who gave you a name instead of just your code. And when he failed to ride with Naomi, you hoped you’d get to pilot with him. You love him, don’t you?”
Ichigo hesitated before reluctantly nodding again, but then (Y/N) put his hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
“You know I used to love someone too,” He admitted.
Ichigo stared at him in surprise, his face sank into sorrow as he explained;
“Do you remember in the drift, I mentioned someone named Eight-Four-Two?”
Ichigo thought back and briefly remembered the fleeting memory before nodding.
“I called her Miki. She was one of my first co-pilots, and my first actual friend” (Y/N) explained. “I piloted with her for about 8 months, my longest record with any other pilot. Other crews called us “The Avatars of Destruction” with 8 drops and 8 kills under our belt, the highest record at the time. We were unstoppable…until our 9th drop. We were sent out against a Category 4, Tormentor. We…I underestimated the kaiju, and it cost her life.”
Ichigo's eyes widened as (Y/N) continued to explain, biting his lip.
“It pinned us to the ground and ripped her right out of the Conn-Pod. I…I felt her fear, her helplessness…and then…s-she was just gone” (Y/N) explained, but not before a single tear fell. “I fought it off long enough for reinforcements to arrive, but by then it was too late and the bastard got away.”
He held the bridge of his nose between his thumb and pinky as he mourned.
“I’ve been through 5 other co-pilots since then,” (Y/N) admitted as he wiped away his tear, “I never stopped blaming myself…not for any of them-”
Before he could finish, Ichigo grabbed his hand.
“Maybe..” She began, “We’re drift compatible because we were both denied love.”
(Y/N) smiled as he intertwined his hand with hers.
“BROTHER!”
They both turned around and saw Zero Two and Hiro walking up to them.
“Us and the rest of the squad were headed out to the courtyard” Hiro explained, “You wanna come?”
(Y/N) thought to himself for a moment.
“Yeah in a minute,” He explained before turning to Ichigo. “Go on ahead, I’ll catch up.”
Ichigo smiled and nodded. As the three walked off and left (Y/N) alone, he thought about Ichigo and blushed as he smiled to himself.

5 Weeks Since (Y/N)'s Arrival

Hachi and Nana were…confused to say the least. Dr. Franxx called them to his office for a meeting, but for the past 5 minutes, he’d just been scribbling away mathematic equations on a chalkboard.
“Umm…Doctor?” Hachi announced
Finally stirring the doctor from his trance,
“Ah good, you’re finally here” the Doctor grumbled to himself “Now as for why I called you here, as you are aware, the Kaiju have been learning our defenses, adapting, evolving. And now we’re losing Jaegers faster than we can build them. Well, I’m afraid I’ve made a grim discovery”
He stepped down from his stool
“I’ve analyzed samples of Kaiju and Klaxosaur blood, and when combined it seems they have a detrimental effect on all life, mutating it. This may be how the Kaiju are even created in the first place, But that isn’t all”
He then pointed at the equation-covered board with his cane
“In the beginning, the Kaiju attacks were spaced by 24 weeks. Then twelve, then six, then every two weeks.”
The Doctor turned to look at them, with actual panic in his eyes
“The last one near the Gran Crevasse was a week.”
He smacked his cane against the board to emphasize his point
“In four days, we could be seeing a Kaiju every eight hours until they are coming every four minutes.”
Nana and Hachi’s faces shifted from one of confusion to one of panic as the old scientist continued to ramble.
“And with the destruction of Amaranthus, Gaillardia, Macedonia, as well as the destruction of 8 more jaegers, I’m afraid this could very well be disastrous.”
“What do you suggest doctor?” Hachi asked
Before the Doctor could answer, an alarm began to blare as the A. I voice announced
“MOVEMENT IN THE BREACH!”
As soon as the announcement came, Nana received a video call from the control room
“Ma’am, kaiju and klaxosaur signatures hovering just over the breach”
The doctor mumbled expletives as he stormed off
“Where are they headed?” Nana asked the officer
Before he could answer, the A. I announced another kaiju emergence…then again…and again. As they all began to panic, Hachi counted about 16 signatures and counting, all ranging from categories 1 through 4…
And even 5…

The parasites were assembled in the launch bay, awaiting orders amongst the blaring lights and alarms
“PARASITES!”
Hachi then walked up to them with Nana and the Doctor
“The Breach was exposed at 2200 hours, we recorded several Kaiju and Klaxosaur signatures before the scanners went dark. And now those Klaxosaurs are headed this way. As for the kaiju, we should assume they are also headed here”

Everyone in squad 13, even (Y/N) shifted uneasily and began to show some form of panic
“You are to hold the line until reinforcements arrive, the FRANXX have been modified with more ranged weapons and heavier armor to better combat the Kaiju. Delphinium, Argentea, Genista, and Chlorophytum, you are to hold the miracle mile point. Strelitzia and Azure Defiant, I want you to hold back and form a guard around the Plantation. We CANNOT afford to lose you so only engage as a final option, understood?”
“YES SIR!” the Parasites all said in unison
Hachi nodded, “Good luck…and happy hunting.”
“LET'S GO!”

The modified FRANXX followed the one Jaeger out of Cerasus and onto the field. Strelitzia had been armed with a new plasma cannon on her left arm and built-in missile launchers; Delphenium had new salvo launchers on the arms, legs, and fireable explosive spears; Argentea had large shoulder mortars, electrically charged claws, and a new torso; Genista had homing salvo launchers in her shoulder, and her rounds in the gunlance replaced with anti-kaiju warheads; and Chlorophytum had a new waist mounted Vortex Cannon, as well as missiles.

“Command, Argentea’s got the ball and we’re on the roll” Zorome spoke cockily into the radio.
(Y/N) rolled his eyes as he began to speak into the radio
“Command, near position and awaiting your orders”
After a moment Hachi’s voice came through then followed by Nana’s
“Remain at the Miracle Mile and engage at your discretion”
“Guys, keep your eyes open. These Klaxosaurs are the biggest we’ve seen both in size and weight”

As (Y/N) and Ichigo hauled the mech forward, Ichigo looked over and saw (Y/N) clenching his jaw, he was nervous
“(Y/N), are you alright?” Ichigo inquired, concerned about her partner
(Y/N) blinked rapidly and shook himself out of his trance
“Y-yeah, I’m fine,” he answered, obviously trying to hide his fear
“I’m sure everything will be fine,” She said, trying to comfort him “We can handle a few Klaxosaurs”

Before he could answer, Zero Twos’ voice came over the radio
“Strelitzia to command, we have contact! 5 unknown Klaxosaur classes and closing fast!”
They looked out over the horizon and saw the colossal forms of the Klaxosaurs approaching.
But once they reached a medium distance, they slowed down before they stopped completely, hovering in place.
“What the hell are they doing!?” Mitsuru asked over the radio…and he got his answer.
Suddenly, rib-like panels on the bottom side of the Klaxosaurs opened up and released Kaiju, dozens of them, leaving the squad in shock and fear.
“KAIJU!?” Zorome shouted, “SINCE WHEN DO KLAXOSAURS CARRY KAIJU!?”
Then it clicked in (Y/N)’s head, those Klaxosaurs were transporters, carrier classes.

Then, emerging from one of the Klaxosaurs came an enormous beast that towered over all the other kaiju. The creature had thick, leathery skin, three triple-crowned tails, a symmetrical head like a hammerhead shark with two eyes on each end, protrusions on both its back and chest and massive forearms longer than its hind legs.
This was the first recorded Category 5 Kaiju, Codename: Slattern

Slattern let out a deafening roar as all the kaiju began to advance, seemingly being commanded by Slattern.
“ALL UNITS! WEAPONS FREE! FIRE AT WILL!” (Y/N) ordered
The mechs all fired their weapons simultaneously, resulting in an enormous explosion. But when the smoke cleared, they saw it did little to stop the horde of Kaiju as they charged and eventually overwhelmed the mechs.

Azure Defiant struggled through the horde to get a fix on their team, punching the jaw off of one frail Category 1, then blowing a hole through an airborne Category 4 with the Thunderbolt. As they were running, they were tackled and pinned from behind by an ape-like Category 4: Leatherback. Ichigo activated the elbow rocket on the left arm, burning a few of Leatherback's eyes before they shoved it off of them. The enraged kaiju charged them and began to push the Jaeger back with its superior strength
As (Y/N) and Ichigo struggled to hold back the Category 4, an idea sprang to Ichigo’s mind
“(Y/N)! THE PLASMA CANNON!”
He forced the right arm under the arm of the Kaiju before activating the plasma cannon and firing it directly into the beast. They fired once, twice, three times but Leatherback still kept pushing, it only relented after 8 shots… a severed arm, and evisceration.
They holstered the plasma cannon before being given a moment to breathe
“Good thinking” (Y/N) complemented his partner, “Thanks” Ichigo blushed brightly
But as they turned around, they heard a roar that stood out from all the other kaiju. It sounded not like a beast, but an ear-piercing shriek, one that shook them to their core. They turned around and saw it, and (Y/N)’s eyes widened as he went still as a rock, he’d never forget that roar. A kaiju with a tail like a scorpion, spines covering its back, and a three-way split jaw. Tormentor
Ichigo readied for combat, but the Jaeger didn’t budge. She turned and saw (Y/N) seemingly having some kind of panic attack.
“Azure! You’re out of alignment!” Nana’s voice came over the radio
Then the pieces clicked in Ichigo’s head, (Y/N) wasn’t having a panic attack. He was chasing the RABIT
“(Y/N)! STAY WITH ME!” She shouted to no avail
They were completely defenseless which left an opening for Tormentor to ram them and pin them to the ground, Ichigo tried to fight it off with only her arm but it wasn’t doing much.
“(Y/N)!” She cried, trying to irk a response, anything out of her partner
As Tormentor raised its claws and grabbed hold of the conn-pod. Over the static-filled radio, Ichigo could hear the cries and shouts of her team, the team she couldn’t save. As Tormentor's claws began to scrape and scratch through the hull, Ichigo braced
“NO”
Suddenly, the right arm jetted forward and punched Tormentor directly in the mouth. Ichigo looked over and saw (Y/N), eyes burning with rage.
“GRAB HIM!” He shouted, which she quickly obliged.
Ichigo grabbed the left lower jaw as (Y/N) grabbed hold of something inside the mouth of the demon. With a scream of rage and a gush of kaiju blood, they managed to rip out its tongue and throw it aside like a piece of old gum.
Ichigo then quickly shifted the left arm into a plasma cannon and fired off 8 more shots, not doing any fatal damage but critically wounding it before it again lept against them.
“What do we do!?” Ichigo asked (Y/N),
The Thunderbolts were overheated, all Hornets had been exhausted, and both Plasma Cannons were shot. It seemed they were out of options, then (Y/N) bared his teeth, showing his canines which weren’t dissimilar to Zero Twos
“We’ve still got one last trick up our sleeve,” He said confidently
He whipped his arm back and formed a fist as the A. I declared
“TESLA SWORD DEPLOYED”
An enormous blade jutted out of the arm before sparking to life with electricity
“Let’s get this bastard”
They swung the blade into the shoulder of Tormentor, cutting through part of the torso and severing the arm
“Kore wa watashi no pātonā no tamedesu, kono meinu” (Y/N) spat, full of venom and hatred
They then ripped downward, severing the monster completely in two as it let out its dying breath.

(Y/N) took a breath as they watched the lifeless corpse twitch. But as they stood to catch their breath-

“STRELITZIA TO AZURE DEFIANT, ON YOUR SIX! ICHIGO! BROTHER!”
Before they could even comprehend Hiro and Zero Twos' voices coming over the radio, the massive form of one of the Carrier Class Klaxosaurs slammed into them, grabbing both the right arm and part of the head in its jaws.
“THE HULL! IT WENT THROUGH THE HULL!” Ichigo shouted.
(Y/N) looked up in terror as its shearing jaw-like clamps began to rip open the pod, taking advantage of the damage that Tormentor had inflicted. He looked at Ichigo, trying to think of something, anything
“ICHIGO LISTEN TO ME!”
She looked over at (Y/N), her heart gripped by panic
“We’re out of options, there's nothing we can do,” He paused for a moment before he hit a button on her panel, “But there is something I can do
“Co-Pilot Ejection Protocol Initiated”
Suddenly, Ichigo was being lifted into one of the escape pods, she looked down and saw that (Y/N), with a remorseful expression, had activated her escape pod.
“(Y/N)!” She screamed
He looked up at her as the pod closed and through their communication system, whispered…
“I’m sorry, I can’t lose another pilot”
As the pod finally shut and with tears in both of their eyes, (Y/N) muttered one final message but with a sad smile on his face
“Goodbye, my Angel. I’m sorry”

With a loud hiss, Ichigo was ejected from Azure’s Conn-Pod and watched helplessly as the Klaxosaur tore off and threw away the right arm with the Tesla Sword still sparking, before ripping out (Y/N)’s section of the Conn-Pod and swallowing it whole…taking him with it

Zero Two and Hiro screamed as they thrusted the Javelin of Strelitzia through the head of a 6-limbed category 4 kaiju before pulling it free and slitting the throat of a blade-headed category 3. Zero Two was panicking, she’d just seen her brother be rammed by a Klaxosaur after exhausting all weapons, they needed their-

All of a sudden, she was shaken to her core as a deep gut-wrenching pain struck her, one she had never felt before. She looked behind her as tears flooded her eyes at Hiro grasping his chest and taking deep gasping breaths before he looked her in the eyes. He felt it through their neural link too.
She quickly slammed her hand on the radio
“Strelitzia to Azure Defiant, do you copy?”
Nothing but static, she tried again
“STRELITZIA TO AZURE DEFIANT, DO YOU COPY!?”
Again, nothing…
“AZURE DEFIANT! PLEASE RESPOND!”

After a few moments, finally she received a reply, but it wasn’t (Y/N). It was a female voice crying-no…not crying. A deep helpless sob. Hiro’s eyes widened as he recognized the voice,
“Ichigo…” he muttered.
“I-Ichigo to Strelitzia…to all units…we’ve been hit. Azure’s down. (Y/N)...
Silence
“(Y/N)...didn’t make it”

Goro and Naomi’s eyes widened as the latter stifled a gasp and the former’s eyes widened as he thought to himself
‘(Y/N) is gone? That can’t be true'

‘This has to be some sick joke she’s pulling’
Zorome tried to reason as Miku began to quietly sob to herself. Neither of them would admit it, but they’d begun to look up to (Y/N) in the following weeks he was transferred here…

They all did…
‘But he’s one of the best pilots humanity’s got…he can’t be’
Kokoro failed to convince herself as Futoshi tried and failed to comfort them both. He wasn’t just a brother to Zero Two, he’d become a brother to all of them

“N-no”
Ikuno stifled a gasp and tears as Mitsuru flew into a rage and began to fire their Vortex Cannon wildly with tears in his eyes too

“I say again…Fifty-Four…(Y/N) is gone”

Strelitzia collapsed to her knees as Zero Two released the controls, crying uncontrollably. She leaned back and released an ear-piercing, gut-wrenching scream of pain and rage, her eyes glowing a deep red

He felt burning everywhere, all over his body. Like acid on his flesh
(Y/N) came to, he was still alive. As he thrashed for a moment in the liquid, it all came back to him. The battle, the Klaxosaur, being eaten, everything…                                                          He looked around and his gut sank, everywhere around him was slimy blue viscous liquid. He’d seen it enough before to know what it was, Kaiju Blue. He looked up and saw dozens of kaiju in some kind of fleshy cocoon, but they weren’t like the ones he fought. They were fleshy and fragile like a kind of protoform
He then realized where he was, the belly of the beast.
The Carrier Classes both make and transport mass amounts of kaiju. The Kaiju aren’t born, They’re built like the Klaxosaurs…then who is building both?

Suddenly he let out a piercing scream as his head began to pound. His eyes and spikes flared and iridescent blue as everything around him went blurry and all the sounds went muffled. He heard a voice in his head but it was odd. It was speaking in a matter he’d never heard before, one he could barely understand, like that of a higher being, not only that but it was several voices speaking all at once.

As quickly as it came…the voice, the pain, and the feeling were all gone. Leaving (Y/N) with only confusion, dread, shame…and rage
He slammed his fist against the surface of the blood as his body burned from the acidic factor.
‘Why am I so useless?’ He thought to himself, ‘Why can’t I save anyone?’

No…
‘If I give up now, they’ll kill everyone’ he thought to himself, ‘The Squad…my sister…my angel…’
With another scream, he began to claw and scratch at the fleshy wall like an animal, not even noticing the light of his spikes growing brighter or the sense of power building with him. He reached out and began to scream which eventually developed into animalistic roaring

Strelitzia screamed as they chased after the Klaxosaur, Zero Two fired every weapon they had at the seemingly impenetrable hull of the Carrier Class. Hiro could only watch in sorrow and fear as she fell into this fit of sorrow and rage.
Suddenly, the hull of the Klaxosaur exploded, shaking Zero Two and Hiro from their trance almost immediately. The creature shrieked as it went down in a fiery blaze. Crashing into a mountain near Cerasus
“Darling…D-did we do that?” Zero Two asked, Hiro only quietly shaking his head
“Nice shot guys!” Zorome called over the radio, “Finally we got the bastard!”
Hiro quickly responded “We didn’t do that”
There was a palpable silence before it was interrupted by Goro
“What do you mean?”
Suddenly alarms in the mechs began to blare, the sensors were picking up something.
“We’ve got a problem!” Goro shouted “We’re picking up-’
Before he could finish, an enormous rumbling shook the earth and sky itself
“Did anyone pick that up?” Hiro asked through the comms
“I’ve got it!” Ikuno confirmed, almost immediately
“Where’s it coming from?” Hiro asked
There was a silence for a moment
“T-that's impossible” she muttered
“Ikuno! Where is that rumbling coming from!” Hiro shouted
She stuttered before answering, clearly confused
“It’s within 2 kilometers… it's coming from the Klaxosaur carcass”
As flocks of birds took to the air by the hundreds, all flying away from this rumbling, Goro interrupted, just as confused and worried
“Electromagnetic particles in the air rising!” He shouted before Ikuno cut in again
“W-we’re getting an underground heat source and a-a plasma reaction-”
Before she could finish, Nana’s voice came over the radio
“ALL UNITS! We’re picking up a massive spike in Magma energy, the cause is unknown. KAIJU SIGNATURE RISING!-”
“It can’t be..” Ikuno muttered as the radio cut out.
Suddenly, the Carrier Class Klaxosaur, the mountain, and the nearby area all but exploded like a lightning strike. Throwing clouds of dust and debris everywhere, hurling an enormous dust cloud into the air. Debris rained down upon both the FRANXX and the Kaiju and as both looked on in some form of fear, a shape could be seen.

Enormous jagged spikes began to rise out of the clouds of dust, slowly it became clear that they were connected to something else, a creature.
“Is that a…” Hiro began with Zero Two finishing “Kaiju…”
“Height over 100 meters and rising,” Goro called in, astonished “Vibration frequency measuring a mass of over 90,000 tons!” As he spoke, an enormous tail emerged from the rubble. spikes running down it and ending in a sharpened point like a whip. It then slammed back into the ground, shaking the earth again.

Dr. Franxx, Nana, Hachi, and all the control room staff could see the emerging creature, some 5 miles away. As Franxx overheard the Parasites calling in the statistics of the creature, his eyes widened as he dropped his cane and fell to his knees as the computer showed only four words: CATEGORY 7
“Impossible…”
Codename: GODZILLA

Ichigo watched the creature emerge from the ground, having just escaped her pod. Through the enormous clouds of dust, she could see the creature's head emerge, along with the rest of its body. It was dark gray, and covered in scales. It had a bulky body, a thick and short neck, large arms, jagged triangular dorsal plates, and a head with a relatively short snout. It had a very robust musculature, with muscles visible through his skin and pronounced abdominal and pectoral muscles on his chest. Its legs were long yet thick like tree trunks, while its feet were elephantine and possessed four claws. Its appearance reminded her of an entity from a book she used to read in the garden growing up. A 20,000-year-old god of the earth who punished an arrogant civilization. Without even realizing it, she began to recite the book barely above a whisper
“When those fleeting lives destined to die, become arrogant and sing praises of their own narcissistic glory. Such will shake the very heavens and split the earth. And they shall come to know the wrath of the divine. The Incarnation of Destruction”
She gasped as the creature fully emerged, towering over nearly everything and letting out a low bellowing growl
As the Doctor fell to his knees, a grim smile formed on his face
“It’s been a while…”
“Oh, King of Monsters”

SKREOOOONK

The creature then let out an ear-splitting roar, like a glove being rubbed against a stringed instrument. The Kaiju, contrary to everything humanity thought of them, began to flee in terror as the towering titan pulled itself free from the crater it emerged from and approached the FRANXX
Hiro and Zero bared their teeth, seeing this new adversary approach before Hiro called on the radio to the others
“ALL UNITS! PREPARE FO-”
Before he could finish, the beast walked right past them, not paying them any attention. Only staring at the mostly fleeing hordes of kaiju.
Then, a hiding category 4 leaped at the creature only to be caught by the throat. It stared at the squirming kaiju with its rageful amber eyes before grabbing its lower jaw with its other hand and ripping it right off before dropping the pitiful monster. As the category 4 tried to crawl away, the titan brought its massive foot down upon its head, splattering it in blood and watching the lifeless body twitch with some kind of satisfaction as a sadistic smile formed on its face.
It then turned its attention to the other kaiju running away, it set its sight on the fleeing airborne Klaxosaurs. Its teeth bared as a deep hum and glow traveled up the plates on its back before letting out a massive roar. So loud, it couldn’t be heard, only felt as the vibrations and sheer volume crushed the klaxosaurs, and everything else in its path.
“What was that?” Goro gasped, “A Super Oscillatory Wave?”
Ikuno then gave the readings of the attack, “estimated electromagnetic particles in the air measuring over 900 Gigawatts!”
It watched the kaiju attempt to scramble away to the ocean before it growled.
Enough was Enough

“Electromagnetic concentration rising again!” Ikuno shouted “Measuring over…3 TERAWATTS!”
It brought its foot down, arching its tail before swinging it and creating some kind of energy shockwave that eviscerated everything in its path; rocks, hills, and even the kaiju. Leaving only a massive explosion and a cloud of dust and smoke
After a few moments, it turned to stare at the FRANNX, Strelitzia in general. Something about the Titans' eyes felt very familiar to Zero Two.
Suddenly, Slattern leaped onto its back and shoved it to the ground. It used one hand to shove the head into the ground and the other to keep the rest of the body immobile, pinning it before trying to stab it in the back of the head with its tails. But when the jagged points of the tails made contact, they shattered off almost instantly.
Before Slattern could even comprehend what had happened, the titan leaned back and shoved its right hand against Slattern’s upper jaw. Slattern tried to stop the attack to no avail as the titan pushed the kaiju's upper jaw upward until the jaw broke and neck muscles tore, spraying blood everywhere. Slattern shrieked in agony, but as it tried to flee, the plates on the titans' back began to glow again. All the energy came to a point as it fired a powerful concentrated blast of electromagnetic energy and radiation from its mouth, destroying Slattern completely and leaving no trace other than the massive crater.
It let out another soul-trembling roar in victory as fires burned all around it

There was a disturbance…
This was the first time there’d been a disturbance in the colony since that…that human stumbled into her domain. But this was nothing like that, she felt it within her, they all did. She’d felt it before…when those demons laid siege to her home with their ‘god’. She remembered an ancient proverb from her race, from their golden age before the demons slaughtered them.
One of their ‘God of Destruction
“The land howls. The Burning Mountain will rise,” She echoed, “That breath is a storm, that rage is thunder” She looked down at her hand, peering at her blue skin. her hand seemed to radiate a kind of misty-blue aura, “Crossing over distant time, he commands the power of destruction…”

The land fell silent as the Titan watched over its battlefield of victory, the FRANXX and their pilots starred in awe. A kaiju fighting kaiju, something unheard of ever since the kaiju first emerged.
“Command to all units, status report!” Nana’s voice came over the radio, which Hiro quickly responded
“We’re alright! The Kaiju didn’t attack us”
There was silence before Dr. Franxx’s voice came over the radio this time
“What do you mean…it didn’t attack you?”
“MOVEMENT DETECTED!”

The ground rumbled as the kaiju turned to face them, looking down on them with a familiar yet ominous gaze, its pupils narrowed.
Suddenly, explosions detonated on its back as it roared out, not in pain but more like annoyance. The monster looked behind it and saw aircraft overhead, shooting at it. It squinted it's eyes in anger before swatting the aircraft with its tail like flies with a swatter, the vehicles exploding upon impact.
As debris rained down, the titan turned to look at the mechs
“What do we do?” Miku inquired over the radio
“Just stay calm,” Goro advised “he hasn’t attacked us yet”
The titan raised its claws above its head as it bared his teeth, aiming for Strelitzia
“You just HAD to jinx us!?” Zorome shouted
The mechs strafed out of the way of the beast's claws and away from him.
“Strelitzia to Command!” Hiro shouted, “Do you have a tactical scan of the hostile?!”
“An incomplete one, but yes,” Nana answered “Sending intel”

Category: 7
Height: 108 meters
Weight: 90,000 tons.

Hiro’s eyes widened in shock
“That heat ray alone’s got a blast yield of 150 megatons!” Mitsuru shouted, “How the hell are we even supposed to fight such a monster!?”
As the FRANXX bared their teeth and stared down Godzilla, the monster suddenly cocked his head back and turned in another direction, staring at Cerasus. He roared before walking east
“It’s changed course,” Nana reported over the radio “and it's headed this way!”
Hiro muttered and swore under his breath
“He must sense the magma energy powering the plantation” Zero Two hypothesized
“Either way,” Hiro growled, “we can’t let him reach Cerasus!”
Suddenly, a flash of pink dashed past Strelitzia as Argentea dashed past, claws sparking.
“ARGENTEA, STAND DOWN!” Hiro ordered, to no effect
“We’ve got this!” Miku shouted confidently, “GO FOR HIS EYES!” Zorome advised
As Godzilla turned around, Argentea leaped into the air and tried to slash at his eyes. But before the weapon could even touch him, Godzilla grabbed ahold of Argentea’s arm. He then began to swing them around before throwing them into a mountain like a 50-ton ragdoll and roaring before carrying on. 

“ARGENTEA!” Hiro shouted down the radio in concern and panic
Silence for a moment before coughing came through
“Argentea’s down, we’re pinned but alright.” Zorome coughed, “Don’t worry…about us. Stop Godzilla” Miku ordered

The FRANXX growled before they charged at Godzilla with Strelitzia leaping into the air and slashing into Godzilla's back, the titan roared in pain before ramming them away. While he was distracted, Genistea climbed up onto Godzilla’s back and stabbed the bayonet of their gunlance into his shoulder. They readied for another attack, but Godzilla swung his tail and tore right through their waist, flipping them onto their chest. Genistea tried to get back up, but Godzilla grabbed the mech in his jaws before throwing them away. Godzilla turned around as Delphinium ran up behind him and fired one of their explosive lances into his face. The lance detonated but did little to no harm as Godzilla ripped through the smoke and bit them on the torso before lifting them into the air. He then ripped off Delphinium's right arm and both their legs before throwing her away. He turned around and in a rage, roared at Chlorophytum, creating another super oscillatory wave. The blast didn’t kill her but did throw her up against a mountain. 

Strelitzia struggled back to their feet as Godzilla continued moving

“This isn’t working,” Zero Two hissed, “We need to find his weak spot”
Hiro then radioed in, “Strelitzia to command, do you have any idea where his weak spot is?”
Nana replied quickly, “The area around the targets organs and nervous system are too heavily armored, your weapons won’t be able to penetrate them”
“What about the brain?” Zero Two asked, “This Son of a Bitch has one, right?”
“The brain is also armored,” Nana answered, “But if you divert all power to the lance, you might be able to penetrate the dorsal plates”
Suddenly, Ichigo’s voice came over the radio
“15 to Strelitzia, I’ll draw his attention”
Hiro’s eyes widened in surprise, “Ichigo what are you going to do!?”

The wreckage of Azure Defiant was…rough to say the least. Both legs and an arm were gone as well as part of the Conn-Pod and one of the Thunderbolt cannons. The wreckage shook as Godzilla walked past, now only 80 meters from Cerasus. Suddenly the lights in the Jaeger flickered to life as Ichigo jumped back into her pilot’s cradle, she wouldn’t be able to move and she had no weapons but she didn’t have to fight.

She blared the horn and grabbed Godzilla's attention. He turned around as electrical sparks started dancing between the dorsal plates on his back

“EM CONCENTRATION RISING!” Nana called

“ICHIGO!” Hiro yelled, “GET OUT OF THERE!”

Ichigo glared at Godzilla, showing no fear in the face of her death. If she died, she’ll have saved Cerasus and she’d get to see (Y/N) again...it would be worth it

But suddenly, Godzilla's energy stopped building as he stared at her. He leaned down to look into the hole in the Conn-Pod, looking right at Ichigo. The space lit up as his face obscured the sun, and starred in. His eyes were an amber-yellow like an animal, yet also conveyed intelligence. As he stared in, his eyes widened as his slit-shaped pupils began to expand. Suddenly, she heard him roar, not in anger but in pain as sparks danced across his dorsal plates with audible crackles. He then looked in again, this time his pupils circular and dilated, like those of humans.

It was at that moment when Ichigo remembered why those eyes felt so familiar

“(Y-”

A screaming Strelitzia leaped into the air behind the distracted Godzilla and, with the fully powered lance sliced into him. They struck just below the nape of the neck as the wound erupted in blood and steam. Godzilla groaned in pain before falling on one knee.

The feminine mech landed on the ground while Godzilla fell over, then quickly turned around and landed a heavy uppercut on the reptilian titan, sending him stumbling backward. 

“This is for my brother, you monster!” Zero Two spat with venom

Strelitzia then powered up their plasma canon and fired a shot right into Godzilla’s face, causing him to fall and land on his back, seemingly unconscious.

Strelitzia stared down at the sleeping giant, vengeance in her pilots' eyes. On their opponents' face was a smoldering burn right above the right eye, forming a nasty scar. 

Suddenly their radio crackled to life, startling them

“Good work Strelitzia,” Nana reported, “We’re sending out a retrieval team. Just stand by-”

Before she could finish. The air was filled with the sound of thunder crackling like an explosion as a lightning bolt struck the body of Godzilla, enveloping him and everything around him in a flash of light. 

Hiro and Zero Two rubbed their eyes, blinded by the sudden phenomenon. But when their vision returned, they were met with a startling discovery. Godzilla was gone

“W-where di he go!?” Zero Two exclaimed, looking around with rage on her tongue.

“I’ll do a scan” Hiro announced, before pressing a combination of buttons, the mech began detecting for lifeforms. 

Moments later and results came in, there was something right in front of them. The mech leaned over to look and saw something bizarre. A young teenage human lying on the ground, however he had some rather identifying features, including blue spikes running down his back, a long segmented tail, his hands and feet covered in scales and armed with claws, canine fangs, and…a notable burn scar above his right eye…

Images flashed through the blackness of his mind, visions, memories from an unknown past.
“I REMEMBER ARMAGGEDON…”
“The world has changed much since my home was burned and taken.”
“Taken by HIM.”
“Consider HIM, the World-Eater, not of this realm.
I remember when HE first came here. The one's that covered the planet tried to fight him, but they were taken by HIM, twisted to his pleasure. “
“WE fought him with the very might of the Earth itself and yet HE was stronger. They were my brothers and sisters and they fought with storms and earthquakes, but now they are gone and I am alone.”
Centuries past and his home remains burned, the corrupt one's plague the surface. This world has no balance
But his reign has begun
And He is king…

The Doctor peered through the window into the medical room with a sort of twisted fascination as muffled beeps were heard. He’d sent Nana and Hachi to keep Squad 13 docile while he investigated and for good reason as there on the bed sat 054, but not as he once was. He’d overlooked the medical teams' scans of the Parasites' anatomy and genetic code. None of it made a lick of sense to the century-old scientist.

For starters, his yellow blood cell count was through the roof as was a foreign substance unknown to man. The substance, designated as G-Cells, was undeniably similar to the Klaxosaur DNA that he and Subject 02 were forged from. And yet the foreign DNA in his genetic code wasn’t Klaxosaur, it was something else entirely… 

On top of that, he had scales, more pronounced claws, a tail, more significant dorsal spikes, visible gills, and a mouth full of teeth made to grip, rip, and crush.

The Doctor grumbled to himself again, twirling a vial containing a sample of the boy's blood. This all had to do with 054’s transformation into that ‘Godzilla’ creature, that much was obvious to him. But what wasn’t, was the question of how he changed and why…better yet, what Godzilla actually was and why it was so powerful. Some of his less...professional colleagues had even begun calling him "The King of the Monsters"

He then remembered when he was able to infiltrate the Klaxosaur colony years ago and attain a sample of Klaxosaur DNA. But that wasn’t the only thing he’d taken from that failed expedition…

Then he began to wonder

“Does 001 have something to do with this? Did she know this would happen?”

Before he could ponder to himself more, the door to the observation ward hissed open. The doctor turned and saw Nana and Hachi entering the room, both with cold yet worried expressions on their faces.
“Squad 13 is getting restless,” Hachi reported, “especially Subject 02”
“We can’t keep this hidden from them,” Nana commented, “Zero Two almost attacked us”
Dr. Franxx didn’t respond, he merely kept staring through the glass as a grunt escaped him.
“Doctor?” Hachi enquired, “what is it?”
The doctor then repositioned his cane, before he began to speak
“Subject 054 is the most effective combat pilot on record, not to mention the most aggressive, having a long history of hostility towards us”
He then turned and walked towards the wall
“And Godzilla was the most powerful and deadly Kaiju on record, not to mention the first to utilize a biological weapon of that caliber”
He then tapped his cane on the ground to emphasize his point
“Now that we know the two are in fact one and the same,” He muttered, “I worry he may grow to become a possible threat”

Suddenly, the door hissed open again, this time letting in the entirety of Squad 13, unusually defying orders
“WHERE. IS. HE” Zero Two almost growled
“HEY!” Hachi shouted, “YOU WERE ORDERED TO REMAIN IN THE BOARDING HOUSE! GO BACK-”
Suddenly, the doctor raised his hand, telling Hachi to stop
“No need,” Dr. Franxx ordered, “I have all I need”
He then began to leave the room with Nana and Hachi. As he left, he noticed Zero Two shooting him a glare few others would even dare to, hardly a surprise for the hybrid.
As they left, the parasites almost immediately pressed themselves against the glass

As the Doctor, Hachi, and Nana rode the escalator downwards, Nana spoke up.
“Doctor, about what you said.” She began, “Why would you think that (Y/N) would become a threat”
The doctor turned slightly, staring at her out of the corner of his eye
“The foreign DNA in his system isn’t entirely Klaxosaur. It's from a time before mankind appeared on Earth”
Hachi then spoke up, “Doctor if I may… what are you saying?”
Dr. Franxx then turned back around, looking down at his metal arm, a gift from Her.
“Humanity once said that nature has an order,” He muttered, “A power to restore balance”

Back in the medical room, (Y/N)’s spines pulsed as his eyes snapped open, flaring a deep amber.

“I believe he has become that power…”

“Well…this is interesting…”
A voice in the darkness spoke to (Y/N) in the void of his mind, he spoke with a deep and tough voice but one that also seemed intelligent and wise. The parasite merely huffed and crossed his arms, between almost dying and getting used to his ‘adaptations’...he wasn’t in a very good mood
“I’ll say”
The voice then spoke again, “Can't say I was expected to be stuck with one of you”
This… this got (Y/N)’s attention, “One of you?” (Y/N) asked.
“A…uh…” His internal companion slurred, “What did you call yourselves again?”
“Human?” (Y/N) answered, “I’m not even fully human”
The voice then scoffed, “Well that explains how you can handle the strain of having two minds in your head”
(Y/N) frowned, he was growing more and more confused by the moment
“So…who or what are you?” He asked
“Don’t tell me you humans don’t remember me? I’m almost hurt”, the voice responded with a tone that almost sounded like an attempt at humor. “You wouldn’t happen to know what year it is by any chance?”
(Y/N) squinted his eyes in confusion before answering his ‘companion’, “It’s 2137”
The voice then growled to itself deeply. But whether in confusion or frustration, (Y/N) couldn’t tell
“So I’ve been gone longer than I thought”
(Y/N) then interrupted the voice, “You still haven’t answered my question. Who are you?”
The voice growled again, this time sounding more like some kind of animal
“You’re not like the rest of your kind, are you kid?” The voice poked again, almost condescending in a way
(Y/N) scowled and thrashed his tail, not even realizing his spikes began to flare a light-blue color. The voice chuckled again, but not in a way that was condescending, it felt more like he was impressed
“You’re kind has given me many names over the time you’ve known of my existence…”
Suddenly, a colossal form began to appear from the void in front of (Y/N). A large bipedal reptile that stood at around 11 feet tall, with dorsal spines running down his back and tail…he felt familiar
“But you can call me…”
“Gojira…”

As Hiro and Ichigo walked down the hall past automatic doors, the sound of something pounding against and tearing apart metal became louder and louder.
Was he still down here?
It had been about 3 weeks since (Y/N) woke up and the kaiju attacks had suddenly ceased almost completely. APE wanted to test (Y/N)’s capabilities, he couldn’t turn into a kaiju again, but his physical capabilities had increased tenfold. And yet, it wasn’t enough for them. They kept pushing him, barely even letting him rest. They could count the number of times (Y/N) had returned to the boarding house in the past 3 weeks with one hand. Ichigo hated how they treated (Y/N) like an experiment, and she wasn’t alone in this train of thought. Everyone in Squad 13 was angered by their comrades' treatment, it was one of the first times Ichigo could say she and Zero Two agreed on something
As they turned the corner, they saw Zero Two staring into a room through a glass panel with a concerned look on her face. This was one of the combat rooms the higher-ups had set up to test (Y/N)’s combat prowess.
Once they reached her side, their eyes widened and their jaws dropped.
Inside the room, was (Y/N) tearing apart humanoid droids of some kind like they were made of paper.
Hiro was reminded of when Zero Two briefly fought with armed guards during their second time piloting together. Her fighting style was swift and acrobatic, almost majestic in a way... (Y/N), while was definitely acrobatic to a degree, fought with pure strength and ferocity, almost like an animal. While his sister fought with quick jabs and punches or flipping over opponents and making it difficult to get their hits in, (Y/N) fought with powerful strikes from his claws, feet, tail, and jaws powerful enough to crush steel. And while Zero Two was most definitely powerful, it was like comparing a wolf to a bear
They watched him grab a droid by the ‘neck’ and choke slamming it into the ground before clamping down on its head with his jaws, tearing it off, and throwing it away before grabbing the torso and using it to smash the few remaining droids.
“He’s been at it for almost a whole day now,” Zero Two said quietly, her face sunken and defeated. “They’ve barely let him rest at all”
Ichigo mumbled under her breath, she knew who Zero Two was talking about. APE, she knew how they treated and viewed Zero Two, which meant they were probably (Y/N) just as bad, if not worse.
“Have you tried to get him to stop?” Hiro asked his lover, she only looked at him with the same facial expression.
“I already tried, Hachi and Nana stopped me” She growled, showing clear disdain for their superiors. Ichigo then stepped forward and tapped on the glass now that the room had gone quiet, getting her partner's attention.
He turned to look at them out of the corner of his eye. At first, he looked at them with a rageful expression, no doubt caused by the amount of adrenaline in his system. But then his face shifted to one of sorrow and regret. But before anyone could do anything, metal shudders began closing, blocking the groups' view of the room…and (Y/N). Once the shudders finally closed, the three parasites heard Hachi's voice over some kind of speaker, “Subjects 002, 015, and 016. return to the boarding house, or there will be consequences”
Seeing that trying to resist the doctor, let alone APE, was a hopeless endeavor, the three reluctantly decided to come back later as the sounds of ripping metal began again.
As they walked back down the hall, Ichigo thought to herself.
“Why wouldn't he talk to us?” She asked herself. She saw the look he gave them, he wasn’t upset with them, more likely he was upset at himself. She remembered when (Y/N) first woke up. She remembered the look on his face when he saw his claws and tail. His appearance repulsed him.
She didn't know if it was because he was scared to lose control, or if he didn't want to be rejected by the only people who seemed to look at him as just another person instead of some kind of bio-weapon or lesser creature.
Did he think he was a monster? Was he afraid of hurting them?
“You should try talking to him”
Ichigo was startled as Zero Two suddenly spoke up behind her, she looked at the pink-haired hybrid with a look of concussion. “What? Why me?”
Zero Two then faintly smiled to herself before answering Ichigos' question.
“I’ve seen the way my brother looks at you,” She stated bluntly, “It's the same way I look at my Darling.” Ichigos’ face then began to flush red as she blushed. She tried to retort, but all that came out was a stuttering mess. “Face it,” Zero Two remarked, “You love him…”
She tried to find an argument but the more she thought about it, the more she felt herself agreeing. She thought back to their talk in the hangar, their piloting together, and him putting her in the escape pod while he stayed behind.
"Talk to him. Please," She pleaded, a genuine look of desperation on the Klaxosaur hybrid face
“H-he called me…” Ichigo said to herself, “he called me his Angel”
Zero Two faintly smiled at her teammate's flustered face and started walking past her.
The pink-haired girl then interrupted, "You're the only one he’d listen to."
Before Ichigo could respond, Zero Two was already a fair distance away, Ichigo then turned to Hiro, who simply shrugged. Before Ichigo could say anything, Hiro started walking off with Zero Two. Ichigo sighed to herself as the sound of metal being torn apart rang through the hall

(Y/N) growled as he plunged his fist into the machine's back and began to tear the metallic spine from the final droid. It had been about 4 hours since Zero Two, Hiro, and Ichigo had come and tried to stop him. But the APE higher-ups and the doctor intervened.
He clenched his fanged teeth in rage as he continued ripping the metallic bone from the machine. He hated being kept in a cage and poked at like a lab rat, but what the doctor said flashed in his mind.
“Subject 054, you will follow these tests. If not, I'm sure your sister would be MORE than enough to convince you…”
They saw them as a kind of toy, more specifically the Doctor. As far as (Y/N) was concerned, he’d break himself before he let them harm his baby sister. If they wanted a monster, he was more than happy to play along…
With a roar of sheer primal rage, he ripped the spine with the robot's head still attached to it from its body before throwing it down to the ground and crushing it under his foot.
As he panted, trying to catch his breath, the PA sprang to life with static once more with the Doctor's voice this time, “That concludes today's tests 054, you may return to the Boarding House”. As he left the test room, (Y/N) scoffed as he rubbed his wrists and thought to himself, ‘They’re letting me get some rest? Surprising’
“You could say that again”
(Y/N) jumped slightly before sighing. In his rage, he forgot about his “friend”. He had yet to tell anyone about Gojira, a wise decision in said reptile's opinion.
“You know…” Gojira began in his head, “I could always burn them alive”
The idea was tempting to (Y/N), but alas he knew better. “No,” he grumbled, “If they don’t, they’ll hurt my sister”
Gojira growled to himself, likely considering what his host had just said
“Besides,” he continued, “That would put the rest of the squad in a tricky situation”
“Like your mate?” Godzilla asked with a hint of smugness in his voice
(Y/N) sighed, “She’s not my mate”, annoyed with his counterpart but not surprised at his antics
“But you wish she was” Gojira shot back smugly, but he didn’t respond. (Y/N) couldn’t see him as he was just a voice in his head, but he could almost make out the shit-eating grin on the reptile’s face.
“(Y/N)!”
As (Y/N) walked down the hallway, a voice from behind called out to him. He turned around and his eyes widened when he saw-
“Ichigo…”
His partner stood there at the end of the hall, her jade eye piercing him worse than any kaijus’ claws had before. The hall was filled with a palpable silence other than the sound of Ichigos’ shoes clicking against the floor as she approached him.
“What…” (Y/N) began, “What are you doing here?”
“I came to see you,” She responded almost immediately, “Isn’t it obvious?”
(Y/N) clenched his fists and tried his hardest to avoid her gaze out of shame as his tail began nervously thrashing around. Not shame for her, but shame for himself. Shame for what he was
“(Y/N), we’re all worried about you,” Ichigo pleaded while clutching her arm, “Please, come home”
(Y/N) hesitated for a moment before responding, “I can’t” his words nearly falling flat on his tongue.
“And why not?” Ichigo shot back, a tone of desperation and frustration building in her voice. (Y/N) clenched his fists, his claws digging into his own flesh.
“What do you mean why not?!” He almost shouted, his frustration reaching a boiling point. Ichigo didn’t budge however, she only looked at him with sadness and pity in her eyes.
“LOOK AT ME!” He shouted, his dorsal spikes beginning to flash as a sign of his emotions, “I’M A MONSTER!” His amber eyes flared with his frustration. “I GAVE YOU YOUR TUMOR! I CHASED THE RABIT! I NEARLY GOT US KILLED!”
Tears welled up in Ichigos eyes as (Y/N) yelled about his “failings” but she knew they didn’t make him a monster, they made him human. But clearly, (Y/N) didn’t share that opinion. She wracked her brain for something she could do to help him, but then she remembered her mock fight with Hiro in Delphinium.
“I GOT MY CO-PILOTS KILLED!” (Y/N) continued yelling “I COULDN’T PROTECT THEM OR MY SISTER!” Tears began to well up in his eyes. But in his frustration, he didn’t notice Ichigo approaching him. “I AM AND WILL ALWAYS BE A MON-”
Before he could finish, Ichigo grabbed (Y/N) by the cheeks and smashed her lips against his and all activity in his head ceased. It took him a moment to react, but eventually, he wrapped his arms around her and curled his tail around her legs. They stayed like that for at least a whole minute, only separating for air.
“Listen to me,” Ichigo commanded, only a slight blush on her face, “You’re not a monster and you’re not useless either” (Y/N)’s eyes widened as she continued, “You’re my partner. You’re one of humanity's best pilots, and..” She paused for a moment, gripping his shoulders “You’re the one I love…”
(Y/N)’s eyes widened as he blushed, but he then set his forehead against hers as the glow of his dorsal spikes calmed and became a faint hum. “I love you, my Angel~” He muttered
“And I love you too, my King~”
The two partners then embraced each other, not caring for any outside force, only each other.

Chapter Text

It had been a whole week since Ichigo “confronted” (Y/N) and almost a whole month since the Kaiju and Klaxosaur attacks suddenly stopped. The Doctor wasn’t sure what to make of it, but he knew that this “Godzilla” had put a kink in the plans of Humanity's enemies.

It was early morning and the sun had only just risen over the Boarding House. All of Squad 13 sat in the dining area eating breakfast, all save for one. (Y/N)

Ichigo sat at the table, eating with her comrades. With an empty chair next to her…

She and (Y/N) had yet to reveal their “status” to the rest of the squad, and if she was being entirely honest? She couldn’t wait to see the looks on Zorome and Miku’s faces.

“Ichigo!”

She was suddenly snapped out of her trance by Ikuno, uncharacteristically raising her voice. Most likely, she’d been trying to get her attention for the last minute or so and was growing impatient.

“Sorry,” She apologized, “Yes Ikuno?”

Ikuno adjusted her glasses before responding, “How have the sims with (Y/N) been going?”

Ichigos’ stomach then slightly sank with the new topic. She and (Y/N) had been going through drift compatibility simulations, but for some reason, it wouldn’t work. Neither of them were chasing the RABIT, they’d just suddenly come out of alignment.

Ichigo cleared her throat before responding, “It uh…hasn’t been going great”

“Oh no,” Kokoro said, ever the empathetic soul, “Why’s that?”

“The techs aren’t sure,” Ichigo responded, “But I’m sure they’ll get everything figured out”

Suddenly, the door to the dining room swung open and (Y/N) walked in. He rubbed the back of his neck tiredly, and his tail drooped and dragged behind on the ground.

“Mornin’” He mumbled, to which he received drastically different responses. Some actual greetings like from Zero Two and Kokoro, while others were barely even grunts of acknowledgment like from Zorome and Mitsuru. 

He then walked up behind Ichigo from behind and pecked her on the cheek, all while having a very self-satisfied grin on his face. “Mornin’, my Angel~” He greeted her affectionately before sitting down in the seat next to her. 

The entire room went silent as reactions went from mildly surprised to eyes wide to jaws dropped in shock. And as Ichigo predicted, Zoromes’ and Mikus’ reactions were priceless

“I-I WHA?” Miku stuttered in a state of utter shock, not before her partner put in his own two cents. “YOU TWO!? SINCE WHEN!?” He shouted in a state of sheer confusion

(Y/N) then looked at him, that same smug grin still on his face. “Last week. Why?”

As Zorome stuttered to find a response, Ichigo could see Zero Two out of the corner of her eye. While she did have a smug grin that said “I told you so~”, her eyes told a completely different story. They were thankful and happy, they would’ve said “Thank you”

Ichigo simply nodded to her comrade before resuming her meal

As the midday sun shone on the Cerasus Plantation and the arid desert wind blew against its hull. Miles away, an enormous metallic claw struck the ground, kicking up a cloud of dirt and dust. A Mohorovičić Class Klaxosaur stared out at the structure from afar with a Transport Class hovering nearby. The Mohorovičić uttered a groan, to which the Carrier Class responded by opening its hatch.

As it did, two large forms fell from the Transport Class’ gestation chamber. One creature was smaller but had an impressive set of horns and bolstered several pairs of limbs, the other was a humanoid creature that stood anywhere between 300 to 400 feet tall and had a long tail.

As the latter looked out at Plantation 13, it bellowed a roar of defiance. A challenge

Squad 13 were assembled in the control room, all in their piloting suits. Eventually, Hachi and Nana entered the room and the main screen displayed a topographical map of the nearby area.

“Squad 13,” Hachi began, “At roughly 1600 hours, we detected a spike in Breach Radiation, originating from the western fringe of the Gran Crevasse.”

Nana then stood up, “With our discovery of the Carrier Class Klaxosaurs, we now know that they disperse Breach Radiation when deploying their cargo, not unlike the Breach itself. Given that information and subsequent seismic disturbances in said area, we can conclude one thing.”

Before she could finish, Ikuno spoke up, “A Carrier Class has deployed a kaiju in the area”

Hachi nodded to confirm the Parasites’ suspicion, “Or several kaiju, yes”

The map then displayed a wide path of lines, leading from the Crevasse and all leading to Cerasus itself. 

“All course projections point the creature or creatures are headed this way,” Hachi announced before continuing, “016, 002, you two will take Strelitztia and keep the kaiju off our backs. The rest of you, report to the hangar and await further orders”

As Hachi finished relaying his orders, he then stared right at (Y/N), “054, you will stay put until further notice” (Y/N) only responded by rolling his eyes. “Am I understood?” Hachi asked the squad, to which they all responded with a clear and confident “YES SIR!”

Hachi then smiled as he nodded, “Happy Hunting, LET’S GO!” He then clapped his hands as the whole squad stood up from their seats. As Hiro and Zero Two went to leave, (Y/N) stopped them.

“Hey, watch yourselves out there, got it?” He ordered. Zero Two then smiled at her brothers’ protective antics before embracing him in a hug, “Brother, you know you don’t have to worry about me” She almost laughed

“Iota..” He almost whimpered, exasperated by his sisters’ confidence. Zero Two then blushed wildly as her eyes shot open before she tightened the embrace, “I’ll be careful, Kyōdai ~”

The hangar doors slid open with metallic thuds as facial features appeared on Strelitzia’s face. The mech then walked out of the hangar before the door closed and their radio sprang to life. “Strelitzia, listen up,” It was Nana, “We have confirmed two specimens but are unable to identify their category. One seems to be holding back while the other is headed your way. Stay Sharp!”

“Copy!” Hiro spoke into the radio before the communication device fell to silence.

“Keep your eyes open, Darling” Zero advised as she moved Strelitzia’s helm around but not seeing anything. Hiro then checked a feed on his right, “Radar’s clear, I’ve got nothing”

Then suddenly, the ground began to shake. Strelitzia braced herself against the tremors before the ground below them exploded in a cloud of dust, obscuring both their view and view of them

“STRELITZIA, DO YOU COPY!” Nana’s face appeared on one of the holo-panels of Strelitzias’ cockpit. Before they could respond, they shook wildly, making it impossible to send a message. Strelitzia’s massive but frail frame was thrown from the dust cloud. They stabbed their lance into the ground, slowing them before stopping them completely and leaving a large trench-like indentation in the ground. The mech then bared her ‘teeth’ before getting to her feet and bracing herself for combat.

“Control,” Zero Two growled through the communications device, “We’ve been engaged..”

Their assailant then emerged from the dust cloud, revealing itself. It was a large creature, about 107 meters tall. The creature's back and the top of its head were covered in an armored carapace that went from the tip of its snout to the end of its tail. Its skin was cracked and gray and it had four eyes on both the left and right sides of its face. The bioluminescent glow visible in most Kaiju emitted from its mouth and the cracks of its skin. On its back were multiple spiked protrusions, and on its head two horns nearest to the rear of its head. The creature also bore at least four pairs of limbs, two pairs of legs in the back for locomotion, and two pair of arms in the front for both combat and assisting in movement.

“Target confirmed,” Hachi’s face appeared on one of the panels, “Category: 4, Codename: Insurrector”

The creature then let out an unholy shriek as it raised its frontmost pair of arms before charging Strelitzia. She grabbed its first pair in an arm lock, as the second pair wrapped their claws around her waist.

Strelitzia then raised her head and smashed it into the multi-limbed kaiju skull in a headbutt, dazing their opponent. In its dazed state, Insurrectors’ grip loosened, allowing Strelitzia to pull her right arm free. She then delivered a powerful punch, knocking Insurrector back and freeing her from the kaijus’ grasp. 

The creature shook its head and growled in annoyance before whipping the enemy mech with its spiked tail, sending Strelitzia stumbling back with several gashes on her chest. She held a hand to her cut-up-chest and gritted her teeth

“Bastard” Zero Two growled through the mech. They then looked up to see their hulking opponent charging at them on all eights.

“Strelitzia, fall back!” Nana shouted from the control room, but the mech didn’t budge. She muttered on her breath and continued trying to get them to fall back, to no avail. (Y/N) only watched the fight with a determined look on his face, he had faith in his sister.

“Come on, Imōto… ”

 As the kaiju was about to ram the Franxx, she grabbed the monster by its neck and shoulder and lifted it. The monster's own momentum then carried it over the mech's head and sent it crashing down like it was thrown.

It then got back to its feet and roared before charging Strelitzia again. This time, she grabbed it by the head. Her hands were clasped around the upper and lower jaws, holding its crushing mouth shut. As the creature struggled against its mechanical opponent, Strelitzia then lifted Insurrector over her head and brought it down right at her feet. 

As the creature squirmed, Strelitzia then thrusted the Queen Pike mounted on her left arm directly into Insurrectors’ neck. The creature howled in pain as its blood went everywhere. It grasped the pike with all four hands, trying to pull it free but to no avail. Suddenly the kaijus claws went limp as it took its last breath and died. Zero Two and Hiro both breathed a sigh of relief as Strelitzia pulled her blood-stained weapon free from the carcass

In the control room, Nana sighed a breath of relief as Hachi watched the monitor, his face cold and stoic as ever. (Y/N) had a proud smile on his face. Suddenly, the map segment of the map began beeping as seismic activity was detected, almost twice as powerful as the tremors that proceeded Insurrector. Everyone's eyes widened, as Hachi spoke through the intercom.

“Strelitzia, you’ve got movement. Three o’clock!”

The parasites’ turned the mech to look in said direction, the hole where Insurrector had crawled out of. Suddenly, a four-clawed hand reached out and grabbed the ground to begin pulling the creature out of the sinkhole. The creature that emerged was colossal at about 120 meters in height, smaller than Slattern but still extremely large. 

The creature was a black bipedal kaiju covered in cracked, osteodermal armor on its abdomen, shoulders, and head, with a tail for stability. The abdominal parts of the armor were segmented like vertebrates before converging into a prominent spine on its chest. Patches of Kaiju Blue also resided on the pectoral regions of its chest, and veins of it ran throughout the armor and the body. It had two sets of forelimbs. The more extensive, prominent set possessed large palms with four zygodactyl claws. The smaller set, which appeared to be withdrawn, looked like those of a human skeleton, such as the palmar area branching into two before each claw. The armor of its head extended as three inward-curling horns on the top and two on the bottom akin to tusks, while its face was flat with a muscle fiber-like texture, two blue eyes, and exposed teeth.

The creature's skeleton-like mouth opened and released a chilling hiss as it looked down at the mech.

In the control room, everyones eyes widened as the intel for the massive titan came in

Codename: Breacher, Category: 6

Hachi then sprang on the radio, “Strelitzia, be advised!” he shouted, “The kaiju is a Category 6”

Before the pilots could even respond to his message, the Breacher grabbed Strelitzia by the head and threw her aside like a ragdoll, sending her crashing into the ground. It then picked up the Franxx again and held her by the ‘throat’.

“IOTA!” (Y/N) shouted from the control room

Strelitzia then thrusted the Queen Pike at the creature's chest and into one of the patches of Kaiju Blue. The weapon pierced the armor of the creature and sprayed its blood all over the weapon and the kaiju itself. The Breacher then howled in agony before it stared into Strelitzias’ eyes

Zero Two and Hiro could only watch as the monsters' soulless eyes stared at them. The creature then grabbed the mech's left arm by the wrist before it pulled and ripped the arm off completely before throwing it away like trash.

Zero Two screamed in agony as she felt the pain of her Franxx being dismembered as Hiro contacted the Plantations’ control room

“STRELITZIA TO COMMAND!” He shouted, “WE’RE HIT, LEFT ARMS’ GONE COLD!”

Nana and Hachi stared at the monitor in horror as the kaiju manhandled the Plantations’ Flagship Franxx, throwing the mech into the ground as it then pinned Strelitzia to the ground with its foot.

Suddenly, the lights in the room began flickering and a low hum sound began building in the room. Nana and Hachi looked behind them and saw (Y/N), looking right at the monitor. His fists and teeth were clenched as his spikes were glowing with electrical sparks dancing between his dorsal features. His eyes too were glowing and his pupils were dilated in rage like an animal

In his head, (Y/N) saw flashes of images, memories. Not his own, but of Gojiras. He could feel the titan within hims’ rage building with his own, creating an unmatched whirlwind of fury. He growled to himself before turning to leave the room. 

“054! Get back here!” Hachi ordered. His orders, however, fell on deaf ears as (Y/N) continued towards the door. As he was just about to leave the room, he heard the sounds of guns loading. He turned to see four armed guards pointing their rifles at him, their aiming lasers all pointed at him. Suddenly, a fifth guard grabbed him by the shoulder, 

“054, stand down!” The guard ordered. (Y/N) glared at the man with an untold rage before growling a single phrase

“ GET OUT OF MY WAY! ”

He then threw his arm back, sending the guard flying into the wall, denting the metal upon impact. While the guards were distracted, he kicked the door off the wall and ran

“054!”

In the hangar, the rest of Squad 13 sat in silence, waiting for their new orders. Suddenly, they were startled by an enormous metal crash from outside. They looked out the hangars’ viewport and saw, to their horror, the one-armed Strelitzia land with a heavy impact. As she tried to get back to her feet, the Breacher roared into view and, using its massive forearm, backhanded her away before giving chase. 

“We’ve got to help them!” Goro shouted, “They can’t hold that thing off for long”

“What could we even do!?” Zorome exclaimed, “We couldn’t even handle (Y/N)!”

Suddenly, as if Zoromes’ words summoned him, the door to the hangar from the hallway burst off the wall as (Y/N) rammed through it with his shoulder. The squad turned to see the rage-driven pilot, their confusion turning to fear just from his sheer presence.

“(Y-Y/N)?” Ichigo stuttered, concerned for her partner. He looked at her, his expression softening for but a moment before he dashed past them. (Y/N) braced his shoulder and shoulder-checked another door, leading to an outside platform.

“(Y/N!)” Ichigo shouted as she gave chase with the rest of the squad in tow.  They followed him onto the platform as he lept up and onto the platform's railings, looking down at the massive fight. “(Y/N)!” Goro shouted, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?”. (Y/N) turned to look at Goro, his spikes flashing and tail thrashing. “I won’t let that monster take my little sister from me…” He growled, his claws digging into the railing itself. Then with a scream of pure rage, he threw himself off of the platform and plummeted towards the ground below. As he fell, he looked to the kaiju manhandling Strelitzia. He felt the energy building within him reach a boiling point. Electrical sparks began dancing between his spikes wildly as he gritted his teeth.

“GET AWAY FROM THEM”

With a thud, Strelitzia landed on the ground again. She looked up to see the Breacher approaching, its enormous shadow casting over them. Zero Two and Hiro groaned as, through the mech, they stared into the kaijus’ cold soulless eyes. The creature hissed as it reached out and grabbed Strelitzia by her only remaining arm. As it lifted them into the air, it then let go and it grabbed them by the throat. Strelitzia growled as the Breacher stared right back through the Franxx’s eyes at her pilots, hissing while it did so. 

Suddenly, a massive explosion caught the creatures’ attention. While still holding Strelitzia, it turned around to see an enormous dust cloud at the base of the Plantation. It squinted its eyes in suspicion as it let out a roar.

“W-what was that?” Hiro wondered aloud, “Reinforcements?”

“No..” Zero Two denied as she tried staring into the dust cloud from afar, “They would’ve engaged by now…”

As the dust cloud lingered, a massive thud shook the ground, sounding like a thunderclap. Then there was another…then another…then another…then a low rumbling growl shook the air itself. Then, as the dust began to clear, a form that was almost as big as the Breacher could be seen. Zero Two and Hiro squinted to try and make out what the form was, but then they gasped and their eyes widened as a familiar reptile emerged into view.

“Godzilla…” 

Godzilla emerged from the dust cloud as his dorsal plates flashed an intimidation display. He then slammed his tail into the ground before roaring a challenge to the category 6. The Breacher then dropped Strelitzia before roaring a reply, flexing its massive dominant forearms. 

The two then glared at each other before roaring again. Godzilla then charged the Breacher, his massive footsteps shaking the very earth like an earthquake. Anything in his path was swiftly crushed. The two then collided as Godzilla rammed into the creature’s chest. He then reached up and grabbed the kaiju by the shoulders, spinning it around before he shoved it away, putting himself between the Breacher and Strelitzia.

Strelitzia looked up at the massive titan standing before her, his tail thrashing around slowly. As she attempted to push herself up, the Breacher charged again. Godzilla growled as he swiftly spun around and batted his aggressor with his sledgehammer of a tail. The impact knocked the kaiju off-balance as the Breacher stumbled and fell to the ground. Godzilla then turned around to look at the mech before him, looking down at her. Zero Two looked up from her mount in the cockpit, Godzilla’s amber eyes staring directly into hers. “Brother?” She spoke through Strelitzia, uncertain of how the titan would respond. Godzilla then leaned over towards her and bellowed softly before nudging Strelitzia's cheek with his snout.  (Y/N) was the one in control. “Yup,” Hiro confirmed, attempting to comfort his partner, “it’s him”

As (Y/N) turned around, he was struck by a powerful blow to the face as the Breacher delivered a powerful punch. He reeled over from the Breachers’ attack as the kaiju went to attack again. As (Y/N) was hunched over, he spat out a broken-off tooth. He then looked at the Breacher and let out a vicious snarl. He then reared back up with his hand spread open, showing his claws. He then slashed the Breacher in the face, breaking off one of the kaijus’ horns. The kaiju howled in rage and agony as it threw itself against (Y/N). He grabbed the Breacher by the shoulder, stopping it in its tracks as it continued to try and attack him. (Y/N) then began to try to push the kaiju back, getting the two Titans caught in a power struggle. 

(Y/N) then slammed his head into the Breachers, dazing it before biting the kaiju on the shoulder. The Breacher punched the attacking titan in the neck several times to get him to release it, only a punch to the gills finally releasing (Y/N)’s grip. The Breacher then threw itself against (Y/N), but in their struggle, neither noticed Strelitzia sneaking past the Breacher.

As (Y/N) pushed against the Breachers' assault, a voice called out to him. “BROTHER, HOLD HIM STILL!” He looked behind the kaiju and saw Strelitzia holding her disembodied arm, the Queen Pike still attached. (Y/N) bared his teeth and tightened his grip on the Breachers’ claws, the kaiju unaware of the oncoming attack. Then, using her rocket boosters, Strelitzia leaped into the air and threw the arm at the Breacher, the Queen Pike lodging itself in the creature's left shoulder. 

The kaiju howled in agony as it attempted to pry the weapon free before (Y/N) bit down on its left arm, grabbing the kaiju by the wrist and biting down with an earth-shattering bite force. The Breacher shrieked as it pounded (Y/N) on the head, attempting to get him to release his grip. (Y/N) then tightened his grip and, with a focused snarl, pulled with all his might before ripping the kaijus arm free from the body. As the kaiju screamed in agony, its blue blood spraying from the wound, (Y/N) threw the disembodied arm away as the Breacher did with Strelitzia’s.

The Breacher then turned around, attempting to flee, only for (Y/N) to grab it by the shoulders and the neck with his claws and jaws. As he pulled the kaiju back to him and kicked out the creature's knee, making it kneel before him, he heard Gojira speak to him in his mind. 

“Pry its mouth open”

(Y/N) did as his companion advised as he felt a power within him rise. As the kaiju grasped and clawed at his neck, he fired a blast of his atomic breath directly into the mouth of the creature. After a few seconds of concentrated firing down the throat of the creature, its neck burst open from the creature's internal organs combusting, decapitating the Breacher. (Y/N) then stopped firing as he held the Breacher's head in his claws, its scorched spinal cord flopping uselessly as the creature's body slumped over. 

As he stared down at the lifeless carcass, an enormous roar cut through the air. Both (Y/N) and Strelitzia looked to the far away mountains and saw the Mohorovičić Class closing in fast, “BROTHER!’ Zero Two shouted from within Strelitzia. (Y/N) simply branched himself and raised his claws, growling as he did so. Then the Mohorovičić Class rammed him at full speed…

But (Y/N) didn’t budge…

He held onto the Klaxosaur, tearing up small pieces of its armor plating with his claws. He let out a roar as he struggled to hold back the mechanical monster, the Klaxosaurs claws slamming against the ground in a mixture of frustration and confusion. The Mohorovičić Class then opened its “mouth” as an energy ball began charging within its “jaws”. (Y/N) growled in rage as power built within him again as his plates and eyes began glowing. He then fired another blast of atomic breath into the mouth of the Klaxosaur, piercing the energy ball and the monster itself. The blast of pure atomic energy pierced the Mohorovičić Class’s core and ignited several explosions within the mechanical monster. The creature then let out a collection of dying shrieks as (Y/N) released his grip and the Klaxosaur fell to the ground, its lights dimming along with its life. (Y/N) then let out a roar of victory as Strelitzia and those at the Plantation watched in awe, his roar echoing for miles around.

Miles to the south of Cerasus sat an idle volcano, undisturbed for hundreds or even thousands of years. But as the reverberations of (Y/N)s’ roar filled the air around the idle mountain, the ground began to shake. A sound then came from the volcano, a kind of low croaking or bellowing sound. Then suddenly, the volcano erupted with a bloom of smoke and ash, the cloud extending hundreds of feet into the air.  As magma spewed from the mouth of the erupting volcano, a massive three-digit hand sprang from the magma itself, steaming as it was exposed to the cool air. Another hand sprang from the magma and planted itself next to the first hand. Then the creature's head emerged from the magma, its horns towering over the rest of its body. Its eyes flashed open as its beak opened in a grin.

Chapter Text

In the days following the double event, the Plantation was a center of nearly unceasing activity. APE scientists traveling to and fro to study the remains of the Breacher, the first category 6 in history. But whilst they were doing that, Squad 13 had other concerns on their minds.

“Where is my brother!?” Zero Two shouted as she and the rest of Squad 13 followed the Doctor, Hachi, and Nana as they made their way outside.

The Doctor simply shook his head and sighed in exasperation, “So demanding…” Hachi then turned and answered her question. “054 is currently stable,” he answered. “None of the injuries he received during his fight with the Breacher were serious. Although, it seems his radiation levels have plummeted” Zero Two growled as none of her questions were answered, if anything she had more questions now.

“But where is he?” Ichigo asked as Hachi opened the door to the outside platform with the group still following them, “Is he okay?” Nana then turned around and gestured her head outside, “Why don’t you see for yourself?”

The Squad then looked from behind the rails and saw, (Y/N) lying on the ground, his dorsal plates just barely reaching over the platform. The group stared in awe, they’d seen him through their cockpits when they briefly fought with him. They saw his fight with the Breacher, but they never had the opportunity to see the titan up close and personal.

As they stared in awe at the sleeping titan, Hiro scarcely noticed a group of Franxx in the distance, surrounding the Breachers’ carcass…or what was left of it at least. Zero Two also saw the group of Franxx and scowled to herself, as if she recognized them…

“Doctor,” Nana announced, reading notifications from her holopad, “The Nines are in position”

The century-old man huffed, “Finally, tell them to begin extracting the creatures’ secondary brain”

The three adults then left for the interior of the Plantation as the Parasites continued to look at (Y/N). 

“Look at him…” Futoshi gasped in awe, never having seen a creature so massive up close before. In fact, (Y/N) was so large, that the Parasites could nearly reach out and touch his towering jagged dorsal plates. 

“Do…” Miku began, her words momentarily dying on her tongue, “Do you think he’s awake?”

And, as if her words were heard by some higher power, (Y/N) let out a snort of air as he began to rise.

He set his hands down for leverage as he slowly rose from the dirt, quickly coming to tower over the Parasites once again. As (Y/N) sluggishly shook his neck to rid himself of dust that clung to his scales, his comrades stared up in awe and a slight bit of fear. After he scratched his neck, he then noticed the presence of his fellow Parasites, leaning down to look at them. 

The squad was unsure of what to do, having the King of all Monsters stand just inches away from them. “(Y/N)?” Hiro called out, unsure of how the titan would react, “You there?”

(Y/N) then huffed a bit, blasting the group with a gust of hot air and getting a startled squeal out of one or two of them. (Y/N)’s lips then curled upward as he let out a low bellowing noise. He was laughing at them.

“Yup,” Zorome huffed annoyed as he brushed his shoulders, “That’s him”

Ichigo then stepped forward and laid her hand upon his giant snout, his eyes relaxed as she did so. “(Y/N)...” she murmured

He then let out a low croak, as if to respond to his ‘Angel’. But as he began pulsing with blue light, he winced as he stumbled a bit, as if he was in pain. The squad could only watch in concern as he lowered himself to the ground again and laid down

‘Hey, Gojira!’ (Y/N) thought in his mind, calling out his companion. The only response he received was a low yet inquisitive bellow.

‘You said you’ve been around as long as humanity, right?’

The voice chuckled, “Kid, we’ve been around for so much longer”

(Y/N) considered what he said, ‘So there used to be more of you- or us?’ He asked

“Yes,” Gojira responded, "we ruled over the surface and dominated everything beneath us. Even coming into contact with your ancestors.”

(Y/N) pondered before continuing, ‘So you were there during humanity's collapse?’

“Yeah,” the reptile began, “I think…”

This…this confused (Y/N). ‘What do you mean you think?’ He asked the creature

“My memories of the past few eons are a bit…fuzzy. I remember my home being destroyed and brief silhouettes of individuals and conflicts, nothing much else.”

As he considered his companions' words, another feeling of pain shot through his body. He squinted his eyes and clenched his jaws in pain.

‘What’s wrong with us? Why do I feel so…weak?’ He asked the entity within his mind

“We haven’t regained energy,” the voice spoke to him, “the planet's energy does not flow here”

(Y/N)’s reptilian face then twisted in confusion.

“We must feed” Gojira continued, as if what he was saying was obvious to his host. 

‘What are you talking about?’ (Y/N) responded, ‘The planet's energy? Do you mean Magma?’

Gojira simply huffed, “I don’t know what your kind calls it. But it is what sustained my kind, what powers our Starfire”

‘Well I hate to break it to you,’ (Y/N) huffed, ‘but there’s no Magma we can get to around here’

Gojira growled in irritation “Then we will have to find…other ways to feed…”

Just then, (Y/N)s’ amber eyes went from round and dilated to slender and constricted…

Dr. Franxx watched in disappointment from his shuttle as the Nines in their Franxxs’ struggled to break through the Breachers’ armor. Just then, a voice came through the radio, 

“9’Alpha to Dr. Franxx, it's no use. We can’t pierce deep enough into the kaijus armor, it's too thick”

“APE will not accept failure Alpha! Try again!” The doctor shouted back. Alpha grumbled to himself, what APE and the old man wanted with the kaijus’ secondary brain was beyond him. Just then, the ground began to rumble as a heavy impact shook the earth. Alpha and Zeta turned their 9 Model around and gasped in shock and fear at what they saw, as did the rest of the Nines.  Digging into the dirt with his sheer weight and leaving a massive footprint, (Y/N) stepped forward towards them, baring his teeth.

“It’s him…” Zeta muttered, a hint of fear in her voice, Alpha growled in response. While they’d never met before, the Nines knew of (Y/N)’s fierce reputation. They knew about his combat abilities which surpassed their own, his unmatched aggression, and his newfound ‘capabilities’. Even before he became the creature called Godzilla, Zeta, and her twins called him The Apex Predator.

As (Y/N) approached the carcass, he hissed and lunged at Alpha and Zetas Unit. They stumbled back in surprise, just barely avoiding his crushing jaws.

He then approached the carcass, leaned over, and clamped down with his powerful jaws. With his four-foot-long teeth, tearing through the kaijus’ tough skin wasn’t a problem. He then ripped a chunk of flesh from the carcass’ shoulder and swallowed it whole. As he continued eating, Beta and Etas’ Model approached him from behind. (Y/N) noticed as he stopped eating and growled before lunging at the second Nine Model. As he hissed at his current focus, Alpha and Zeta attempted to approach from behind again, resulting in another lunge and roar from (Y/N). Then the doctor's voice came through the Nine Models radios, telling them to stand down. As the Nine Models backed off, (Y/N) ripped another chunk of flesh free, his jaws stained with the blue blood of the kaiju.

The Doctor could only watch in amazement as 054 fed on the carcass. He began to realize that (Y/N) seemed to have two personalities within Godzilla, one that was more sapient and rational, while the other was more savage and animalistic. Not only that, but he was immune to kaiju blood's acidic factor. In his scientific amazement, he completely forgot about the kaiju brain, The council would be irritated, but Franxx couldn’t care less. But in his mind, he knew one thing.

(Y/N) may be able to chase the Nines off, but a carcass as large as this would undoubtedly attract more formidable competition…

As (Y/N) leaned down to take another bite, a sound from the air caught his attention. A kind of screech that sounded like that of a bird. He turned and looked up and saw a massive form overhead, obscuring the sunlight. A giant pterosaur-like creature with a large beak, and two horns protruding from the back of its head. The creature possessed a massive rounded wingspan, at least 250 meters, and its wings seemed to be laced with molten rock. Its chest was covered in spikes, and it possessed a flat fan-like tail, also tipped with lava.

The Doctor watched from his craft as the winged titan landed on the ground behind (Y/N), standing on all fours and walking like a bat. (Y/N) let out a warning growl to the creature, but it didn’t even budge. 

This was intriguing, as even the kaiju usually hesitated with challenging (Y/N). But this volcanic creature seemed to be an exception. He watched as the creature watched (Y/N) in turn, if it was looking to kill him, it would’ve attacked by now. This creature was analyzing him. It wasn’t another mindless brute like the other kaiju, it was intelligent. He then saw its eyes dart away from (Y/N) and towards the carcass, then back towards its opposer. It then croaked at (Y/N) with a collection of squawks and cries. It was trying to communicate. Just then, it snapped into Welkers’ mind what the creature was after. 

It was competing with (Y/N) for the carcass. It wasn't looking for a fight, it was looking for food. 

(Y/N) growled as the creature croaked at him, spreading its wings to make itself look bigger. He couldn’t put his finger, or claw on it. But there was something about the Big Bird that felt familiar to him, probably a remnant of Gojiras memories. (Y/N) hissed in response, thrashing his tail as his dorsal plates began flashing. But before he could act, the winged creature leaped into the air, taking flight while slashing (Y/N) in the face with its talons. As (Y/N) recovered from his opponent's attack, he turned around and saw the bird had landed and perched itself on the carcass. 

He growled to which the creature responded by letting out several cries as it spread its wings again, doing well to avoid (Y/N)’s crushing jaws. As he lunged at the flying titan, trying to slash at it with his claws, it leaped into the air again and avoided his attack. The creature circled him and began slashing and pecking at his dorsal spines. Growing frustrated, he growled before swatting the creature out of the air with his tail. The bird hit the ground with a thunderous impact, landing on its back. As the creature croaked and flapped its wings around in an attempt to get back to its feet, (Y/N) rushed forward and placed his foot upon its spiked chest. The creature let out a shriek of pain as (Y/N) stomped on its chest.

(Y/N) then leaned over and let out a deafening roar, screaming in the creature's face. But as he stopped roaring and took his foot off the titan, the bird's eyes widened as it stared at (Y/N), tilting its head in confusion.

It wasn’t a look of aggression or fear, it was more like the creature recognized him.

His face squinted in confusion as the creature pushed itself off the ground and got back to its feet.

Gojira,’ he thought to the voice in his head, ‘do you know this thing?’

“No…” the voice grumbled in response, “but something about it does feel…familiar”

The creature then huffed as it received no reply before backing off, leaving the carcass to (Y/N). As he began to tear into the carcass, the bird took flight and flew away. It then perched itself on a nearby mountain, watching the reptilian titan with its hawk-like eyes glowing like fire.
