Chapter Text
During Lunch, Nene was sitting at her desk, playing a first person shooter game that was recently released on her phone. Distracted by the game, she hadn’t realized that someone else had entered the classroom.
“Heya!” Quickly, Nene put her character somewhere where she wouldn’t get attacked and turned to the person. It was Mizuki, they didn't attend school much, and when they did, they don’t really talk to Nene.
“Hello.. er, Akiyama, right?”
“Yup!” Popping the p “Oh, that’s the new shooter game, supernatural.. vegans?” Nene sighed “Supernatural vengeance.” The taller giggled “That makes more sense, say, can I watch you play it? I heard it was good, but I’m horrible at shooters.” Nene looked surprised, but Mizuki didn’t seem like that bad of a person, especially from what Rui says about them. “Oh, uhm, sure.”
Mizuki grabs one of the chairs and puts it near Nene’s. They seemed interested in what Nene was doing, and gave little commentary. She enjoyed hanging out with them, and even though it was more just being by each other.
The two heard the bell ringing, Nene quickly put her phone away and Mizuki put the chair back. Before they head to their next class, Mizuki looked at Nene and asked “Wanna go to the Mall after school?” She wanted to say no at first, the idea of having to be in a crowded area frightened her, but she didn’t want to reject them, plus she did want to get new games, so. “Sure..”

Once Nene arrived at the Mall, she looked around to find Mizuki, but couldn’t see them.. “Maybe they’re late.” Nene thought. She stood by the front, waiting for them.
After a few minutes, she noticed pink hair running towards her. “Sorry about being late, Kusanagi,” Mizuki exclaimed, they pant softly “At least you waited for me, unlike someone.” They smirked, “Anyways, let's head in!”They walked in first as Nene followed.
The Mall was surprisingly calm. Usually they’re very busy, especially after school. Seems like they got lucky. “Oh! Let’s go that way!” Mizuki tried to grab her hand, but then stopped and just let her follow them. The two made their way to a clothing store.
The store screamed Mizuki, filled with lots of cute outfits. Immediately, they grabbed two outfits. One being a soft teal dress, with ruffles at the bottom, and bows at the wais, the other being a matching lavender one. The two Kamiyama students walked towards the dressing rooms. Mizuki handed Nene the teal one, and they went into separate rooms.
Nene put on the dress, and starred in the mirror. She felt like a different person, but thought it looked good. Sure, she wouldn’t really wear it much, but it made her happy. She lifted up the curtains and waited for Mizuki. Soon after, they exited and softly blushed. “Woah Kusanagi, you look super cute!” Nene blushed at the compliment. “Ah, thank you..” She looked at them and added “You look pretty too.” Mizuki's face turned bright red. “Aw Nene! You’re making me blush.” Mizuki then said “Oh right are you getting that dress!” Nene nods “Let’s hurry then!”
The two went to take the dresses off, and carried them to the cashier. Mizuki gave the dresses to the cashier. “I’ll pay.” Mizuki said. Nene signed of relief, thankfully she doesn’t have to talk. The cashier puts the clothes into the bag, and Mizuki hands the bag with Nene’s dress to her.
The two walked out of the store and Nene saw a gaming shop. She immediately went towards it, with Mizuki chasing after her.
Once the two arrived, Nene started to check the shooter games they had. She noticed that they had an animal crossing game, something Touya has been talking about lately. It’s not really her type of game, but she’s willing to try it. Mizuki noticed that she was looking at animal crossing and grins. “I didn’t think you'd be interested in Animal Crossing, Kusanagi!” Nene looked at her and said “Not really, but Aoyagi loves this game..” Mizuki thinks for a moment before suggesting “I actually haven’t played Animal Crossing before, how about we figure out how to play it together?” Nene starts to consider it “Alright then.” She grabs two sets, and starts looking for more games.

Nene had to get another bag to hold all her games, while Mizuki was able to hold it in their hands. She started to reach for another PVP game till Mizuki called out “Kusanagi! you’re gonna end up buying the whole store!” Nene paused and looked over to Mizuki, before stopping herself from spending more money, she already spent a lot on Gacha games, probably isn’t the right idea to spend all of it on even more games.
When they had went to pay, Nene handed Mizuki the money to pay for her games, and Mizuki paid for theirs.
“We spent so long there, I was sure we’d stay inside forever!” Mizuki teased, Nene and felt a bit embarrassed over how long she spent there. “Sorry about that..” playing with her hands. Mizuki was looking over at another store before looking at her, “I’ll accept your apology if we both get ice cream.” Nene looked over to the ice cream shop Mizuki was talking about and nodded. They walked beside each other till they reached the store.
The store was packed with people this time, making Nene continue to play with her hands, Mizuki walked up to the counter and looked at all the options. “I’ll get a two scoop strawberry and chocolate ice cream!” They said, Nene looked over the options until she noticed they had grapefruit ice cream. “I’ll.. uh, grapefruit, please..” she murmured, Mizuki repeated for her, “She’ll get grapefruit ice cream.” The ice cream man started to make their ice cream and gave them to Mizuki, Nene reached over to pay for it.
The two licked their ice cream as they walked out, the ice cream tasted pretty good. Mizuki looked outside and saw the sky had an orange hue.
“Oh! I’ll have to go soon.” Mizuki said. Nene realized how long they spent that it was now 18 pm. “Alright then.” The two walked to the exit. Once they were outside, Mizuki turned towards Nene and spoked “Well, that was fun. We should do this again!” Nene replied so quiet that you wouldn’t be able to hear 5 feet away, “Yeah, I’ll like that.” Mizuki then realized something “By the way, do you have Nightcord? It’ll be easy to keep in touch that way!” The shorter one quickly replied “Yeah, I can write it down for you?” They beamed, “Here.“ Mizuki dropped their shopping bags to reach into their pocket and handed Nene a handkerchief and pen. she writes down her Nightcord user on it, giving it back to the previous owner, Mizuki puts it back into their pocket and picks their bags up and starts to head back to their home, waving to Nene, “Bye, Kusanagi!” Nene slowly waves back, “Bye, Akiyama.” And walks to her house.
