With a loud chatter around the classroom — Loud talking, some were playing at the back of the class, mostly that boy at the back of the course, everyone calls him Yoru . Yoru was the jock of the class, he jokes with his friend, Jamie Adeyemi. They kept joking around with the class which cause a burst of loud laughter around the classroom. Suddenly, the class president stood up. “Can you keep it down? you’re going to disturb the other classes.” The boy with glasses said, Vincent Fabron. Jamie looked at Yoru, who just smirked and lets out a small chuckle, the blue-haired male tosed the ball that he was holding to Jamie before placing his hands inside his jacket and walking towards the president.
“And what you’re gonna do? Tell Mr. Brimmy? As if he’s going to do something to us.” Vincent clicked his tongue, glaring at the Japanese man. “Oh… I’m sorry if we’re not that PERFECT Class for you, Mr. Class President.”
Vincent looked at him. “Just because it’s vacant time doesn’t mean you can create a fuss already. Classes are still ongoing and if you create big trouble, we all get in trouble, you understand me?” Yoru chuckled, smirking. “Trouble’s my middle name.” He said. Many stares were on the two boys arguing. “I say it once again, Kiritani. Sit down before—” — “before what? Punch me? I’d like to see you try it. Go on, punch me like the man you are.” The Frenchman was already boiling in rage but they were stopped when Sabine stood up, clearing her throat. “Ryo, that’s enough. Take a sit.” She said as Yoru clicked his tongue and went to his seat with Jamie then the teacher eventually went inside the classroom, and Sabine calmed down the President since she was the Vice President of the class.
After classes — “Hey Yoru.” Jamie called the blue-haired man as he hummed in response. “Going to practice?” Yoru thought of it as he shook his head no. “Nope, something came up back home, have to be there.” Jamie nodded. “No worries, bruv. I’ll tell the coach.” He said and went off on his own.
Vincent has eavesdropped on their conversion, he followed the Japanese man as they landed at a flower shop, why would a guy like Yoru come here for? He hid and looked inside the Flower shop, it seems Yoru was talking to the Shop owner. Vincent noticed how soft Yoru was talking to the female behind the counter. He got some flowers from her and showed a smile before leaving the Shop, Vincent hid, not wanting to be seen — A bouquet of flowers, who was it for? Certainly one of the Cheerleaders, right? Vincent started imaging it as he snapped out of it before leaving his spot and leaving to go home.
At Fabron’s household, Vincent was doing his homework and receiving messages from his adviser from time to time, it was stressing him out — He groaned, removed his glasses, and rubbed his templates before he heard a knock on his door. He stood up, getting his glasses a, wearing them before he opened the door to reveal his mother with a bouquet of flowers. “Oh mother, you got a date?” His mother giggled but she shook her head no. “No, these were addressed to you, sweetheart.” She gave them to him. Vincent was confused, heavily confused as he received the bouquet of flowers from his mother. “I wonder who gave you these.” She left happy and left Vincent processing everything, he closed the door and looked at the Tag. It was the flower shop that Yoru went in. He suddenly blushed at the thought. “Yoru gave me these?” His face was red as a tomato. Vincent was processing everything — “why would he give me these?” Many questions in his mind, the flowers were beautiful as he also saw a letter, he read it.
“Here, I need to apologize for how I acted earlier to you knowingly you work hard and stressed a lot for our class.”
So this is how he apologizes to someone? Giving them gifts.
Tomorrow at class — Vincent was early as usual, when he entered the classroom, he already saw Yoru at the back of the class, he was wearing his headphones and his hair was down, he used to have it up but now, it’s a different hairstyle. Yoru looked up and saw Vincent sitting on his usual seat, he wanted to sit next to him but he hesitated at first before sighing, getting his things, and sitting next to him — Vincent knew someone sitting next to him, looking at that person as he felt his cheeks flushed red yet again just like last night, seeing Yoru sitting next to him. “What are you doing here?” He said after clearing his throat, returning to his note. “Tsk, what? Is it wrong to sit next to you?” Said the jock as Vincent just focused on his notes, Yoru then spoke. “You know you solved that wrong.” Said Yoru, looking at the Math equation that he was solving, he looked at yoru confusedly. “But isn’t this the formula that our math teacher gave us?” Yoru looked at Vincent’s formula card, sighing. “Vincent… You missed the division part.” He said, getting Chamber’s pen and adding the division part and then the fraction method before handing it back to the male. “Here, now redo it all.” Vincent felt like this boy was not just a jock but an intellectual one.
Vincent didn’t mention the flowers that were sent by Yoru as he didn’t want Yoru to remember them, he might tease him for liking them — “The flowers… Did you receive it?” The boy suddenly stopped solving as he gulped, looking away with red color spread on his cheeks, nervously chuckling, he simply answered. “Y-yeah… Mother gave it to me. I thought she was going on a date with someone then she told me it was for me.” HYoru chuckled, his arm around the male’s chair which surprised the President, looking at Yoru — When he looked at him, they were close to each other. He was internally panicking, he didn’t know what to do at this point. Suddenly, the door swung open which made Yoru back away as he saw the others entering.
“Oh? I didn’t know you would sit next to Mr. Glasses President, Yoru.” it was Jamie. Yoru chuckled as he didn’t answer. “Did you do the math homework?” He asked his friend as Yoru looked up and sighed. “Of course, I did. You need the answers, do you?” Jamie started pleading to his friend as Vincent smiled at this moment before going to his own assignment and he was done — “Thank man!” Jamie ran towards behind them as he started answering his assignment, Vincent looked at his answers as Yoru chuckled. “You got it all correct, Mr. Class President.” Said the Japanese man, looking at the President before presenting him with a small smile. Vincent smiled at him before thanking him. “Thanks… You’re a lifesaver, Ryo.” — “Don’t mention it.”
The other class started entering as the school day started.
During classes, Vincent started feeling Yoru’s hand brushed against his, whether on the table, exchanging notes or notebooks — He feels safe whenever when he’s with him. He literally got tutored by him earlier and he was grateful that he was able to tutor him before the quiz was given to him during Science.
Half of the classes ended and Lunch break was given to them, Vincent entered the cafeteria and ate alone but before he could eat, he suddenly felt a presence beside him, looking and it was Yoru again. “Hi Yoru.” He said, trying to engage in a conversation with him — Yoru hummed as he smiled at Vincent. “You don’t mind me sitting here?” Vincent didn’t mind as he knew that Yoru would at with the Varsities and the cheerleaders at their own big table. “Nah, I rather am with you,” Yoru said with no hesitation and so casually, his statement made Vincent blush and created butterflies inside his stomach, it made him feel… so safe.
But things get weirder. Every Tie Vincent needs help, hYoru was there. The library, Chamber getting a book and Yoru would be there to get the book for him. Almost tripped during P.E. but Yoru caught him in time — Not only that, he walked him home all the way until he was inside the house.
Vincent was laying in bed, hugging the pillow as he started imagining those things that just happened one day. Yoru was really sweet and gentlemanly like to him, he blushed at that memory and buried his face in the pillow, screaming. But Vincent knew, he has to confront Yoru about this.
So Tomorrow, he will.
Tomorrow came, Vincent enter the classroom and saw Yoru there. The coast was clear and started walking toward the blue-haired boy. “Yoru.” He called as Yoru was wearing headphones, who looked up and removed them. “Vin? What’s wrong?” Vin. He called him a nickname — He blushed and shook his head, clearing his throat. “I know you’re very sweet and gentleman-like but I don’t know what’s with you. What’s with your deal with a class president like me, Ryo?” Vincent asked.
Yoru was quiet as he chuckled, standing up and walking up to Vincent. “ Because I’m interested in you, Vin. ” Vincent’s eyes widened, was he hearing this? He’s not dreaming, right? “What? You’re interested in me?” Vincent didn’t know what to say, his heart was beating fast — He couldn’t speak the words that he wanted to say. “I’m saying I like you, idiot.” Now it was Yoru’s turn to blush, this just made Vincent blush more. The Frenchman cupped both his cheeks as he couldn’t believe that Yoru likes him. “You like me? I– Yoru… I…” Yoru chuckled. “Your’e adorable, Vin. It will take time to process… You don’t have to answer me now.” He said, placing his hands inside his pockets and turning away.
“WAIT”
Yoru looked at him, the Frenchman gulped and sighed. “I’ll be honest, I followed you last time when you went towards the Flower shop … I thought you were gonna give those flowers to someone from the Cheerleaders because I knew you were out of my league, you’re a varsity player and popular among the girls here, so I kept my feelings away. I always liked you since the day we started bickering at each other like a married couple.” Vincent said, blushing and smiling, giggling at the memory of where they bickered about their group project back last semester.
Yoru smiled at the confession and placed his bag on the other table beside Chamber. “I think this would be my seat from now on, now that you’re mine.” Vincent giggled and nodded. “Up to you.” He said as Yoru looked around then before the bell rang 10 mins before class started, Yoru took this opportunity to kiss the president — Vincent was surprised but kissed back, he pulled away then sat down — They went to their own business as everyone was already inside.
During class, Vincent was listening attentively as he felt a hand brushing against his, he looked at Yoru, who was also listening attentively. Vincent chuckled, holding his hand and they listened to class.
Vincent can’t believe that Yoru is dating someone like him but the Japanese man didn’t care, he can date whoever he wants and he chooses Vincent because he wants him and choose him. Vincent considered himself lucky.
