1.

Draken couldn't find Mitsuya.

They had agreed to rendezvous at the personal care products aisle because Mitsuya wanted to supervise what kind of new shower gel they could use that didn't irritate him. Ever since his early pregnancy, his sense had heightened and became more sensitive, to the point that some smells made him sort of allergic to them. They split up to make grocery shopping more efficient. Draken went for cleaning supplies, while Mitsuya went to the baking and dairy aisle.

He knew his Omega always loved to take this sweet time to compare each product and brand but, Mitsuya was usually punctual whenever they split up during their grocery shopping.

"I wonder if he's contemplating way too long for what kind of honey he should pick," Draken snickered to himself. He adjusted several bottles and products in his arms and went to the aisle where Mitsuya might have trapped himself in a hard decision-making situation.

But he just walked out from their rendezvous aisle, when he spotted a familiar black-lilac hair in the baby care aisle.

Draken blinked, but he didn't say or do anything, as he watched from afar.

Mitsuya wasn't alone.

"Any particular thing that you like?" A middle-aged woman, the store clerk smiled at his mate. Mitsuya's hand flew automatically onto his middle. Draken pretended his own stomach didn't flutter at the gesture. The baby bump was quite noticeable, even with Mitsuya's habit to wear layers of clothes.

"Yes," Mitsuya smiled back. "I'm not really looking for anything, I'm just window-shopping." He reached out for the displayed baby blankets and swaddles. "I like this pattern."

The store clerk took the item off the shelf. "This is our best-seller. The material is very soft, and yes, the pattern is very cute. I could show you the other variations if you're interested."

Mitsuya waved his hand. "Oh, I would be—"

And that was when a bottle slipped off Draken's arm, rolling straight in Mitsuya's direction. His mate looked up at the small disturbance, but Draken didn't expect his face to turn red on a whim.

Mitsuya thanked the store-clerk, before he fetched the bottle, dumped it into the cart, and pushed the cart out of the aisle.

"Sorry, I was distracted," he mumbled, as he transferred the rest of the cleaning products from Draken's arm to the cart.

That was when Draken realized that the cart was still empty. Mitsuya hadn't visited the baking and dairy aisle as he intended to.

"You know, I won't tell you 'No' if you want to do more window shopping, right?" Draken caught Mitsuya's arm.

The black-lilac-haired man didn't want to meet Draken's eyes, as he answered in an incredibly low voice.

"It's still too early."

Suck that they were in public, and they wore their scent blockers because Draken wished Mitsuya could notice his scent right now. There was nothing, nothing but happiness, knowing that his Omega who used to be against the thought of having a child, now cared a lot about his pregnancy.

"Never too early to plan ahead," Draken pulled the Omega into his embrace, bringing him closer. Mitsuya tensed at the sudden act, but Draken didn't care. If Mitsuya was unable to scent how happy he was, Draken would gladly show him. He nuzzled the black-lilac hair.

"You are probably thinking of making those knick-knacks by yourself, eh?"

Mitsuya was quiet for a while before he nodded.

Draken took Mitsuya by his face and grinned.

"Our baby is gonna love it."

He couldn't scent Mitsuya either, but when those pair of amethyst looked up at him, he knew, Mitsuya agreed with him.

2.

Mitsuya was never the one who hyper-fixated on how he looked physically. He was aware that he wasn't buffed, but he wasn't that scrawny either. He was average, to put it mildly. He used to be more well-built when he was younger, despite the 'soft look' people had always depicted him to be. He didn't become Second Division captain, the only Omega captain in Toman for nothing. He was capable of fighting and strong enough to knock down several Alphas in one go.

It feels like thousands of years ago, he sighed as he watched his reflection in the mirror.

He certainly gained more weight since he was pregnant. His chest was still flat, but he wouldn't be surprised to see it grow bigger, once his body declared he needed to sustain another life outside his body. His stomach definitely had changed. And while Mitsuya had anticipated this, he didn't think he would feel the thrill of looking at himself in the mirror, and his middle was confirmed by the visual that he was carrying a baby inside of him.

"Grow healthy, okay," Mitsuya couldn't help to smile as he caressed the bump. It was the clearest when he wore nothing like right now. The skin was cold against his palm, but the warmth was somewhere else. "Grow big and healthy like your Daddy."

Mitsuya chuckled at the thought of having mini Draken around. It was still too early to tell the gender of the baby and Mitsuya honestly didn't care whether he was gonna have a boy or a girl, but right now, the mental image seemed to be too good to pass.

"Girl or boy, I'm sure the baby's capable of some ass-kicking."

Mitsuya staggered back at the voice. Apparently, he had an audience sitting on the bed (seriously, Draken and his ability to watch him sneakily). Mitsuya didn't know why his first instinct was to cover himself. He reached for the towel he threw on the bed but Draken was faster.

"Ken—" Mitsuya whined, but Draken merely pulled the Omega to his open legs, hand traveling to his waist, entrapping him. The strong (and wonderful) scent tickled his nose. Mitsuya shivered at the happiness radiating from his Alpha.

"Have I told you, today, about how beautiful you are, and how much I love you with my entire being?" Draken grinned.

Mitsuya chuckled. "Not for the umpteenth."

"I hope you're not bored hearing it then." He leaned down to kiss the baby bump. Mitsuya's breath hitched at the gesture. He tried his hardest to contain himself, but let's be real, it was Draken's fault for being sappy.

"Someone's excited." His Alpha looked up, as he openly scented the air.

Mitsuya grumbled. "Your fault. Can't help it."

Draken smirked as he maneuvered the Omega gently to the bed.

"Let me fix it then, I can help."

3.

Inui was the first to voice his concern.

Sometimes, Draken wanted to knock his own head for being so oblivious. He didn't know why he could be so dense. He deserved to be flicked on the forehead for a million times.

"You're being overdramatic," Inui snorted, didn't bother to turn his attention from the bike he had been working on.

Draken palmed his face. "I can't believe, I didn't think of it, until you ask me."

Inui rummaged through the toolbox before he answered. "I regret asking already." He sneezed. "Damn it, Draken, tone it the fuck down"

Draken took a deep breath.

"I never thought we would need a car, you know," Draken tried to concentrate on the bike in front of him, but he suddenly didn't know why he held a wrench. "I mean, I bought one for the shop, but it was like the shop's property because I have Zephyr and Mitsuya still has his Impulse."

The Beta rubbed his nose aggressively in response. "And not everyone is obligated to have a car, either. It's just an idle question, don't overthink it."

Inui was the first to voice his concern but turned out it wasn't even a concern at all.

"You actually shine the light on the problems I have never considered before." Draken put down the wrench, giving up on trying to drive himself back to his work. "I take him to work, because, well, it's cheaper and more efficient that way. I don't mind the extra time I got to ride with him. But eventually, it won't be safe for him to ride on the motorcycle. And—"

"You can absolutely use the car to drive him to work," Inui cut him off, wiping his face with the towel on his shoulder. "It's literally just sitting there, you only use it to pick up spare parts."

Draken sighed. "But it's the shop's car—"

Inui finally turned his head only to laugh mockingly. "Damn, Draken, do you think Mitsuya would mind that? What do you take him for? Thinking he would prefer something fancier?"

The Beta stood up to fetch the air refresher. Draken knew Inui hated it when he was too agitated. Draken usually sprayed some scent blockers in case there would be customers, but he didn't apply some unless it was really necessary. The regulars always knew to call ahead before visiting.

The artificial summer breeze prompted him to sneeze.

"Can you fucking—"

Inui interjected. "I fucking can not."

It was Draken's turn to rub his nose irritatedly, trying to get the strong synthetic smell from entering his lungs.

The Beta made a satisfied harrumph sound before he resumed his previous activity. He had just spurted oil to the gear, before speaking up, "If you ever think that Mitsuya wouldn't like to ride in that car, then you should see how he always sniffed the air whenever he came here. Your Omega is too obsessive."

Draken blinked.

"Speak of the devil," Inui mumbled, right before the automatic front door opened. Thursday was Mitsuya's day off, which meant he would deliver meals to D&D Motors (good thing, their apartment and the bike shop were within a walking radius).

"Sorry, I'm late," Mitsuya entered the shop with two bento wrapped in blue furoshiki. "I'm too caught up with designing, I almost miss lunchtime. Fortunately, I was able to whip up quick recipes."

"Oh, whatcha making?" Inui sprung from his seat, after giving Draken a sort of 'watch him closely!' signal.

Mitsuya seemed not to notice that Draken hadn't moved. He continued talking animatedly with Inui, explaining each dish he made as he unwrapped the furoshiki.

When it was Inui's turn to talk and respond, Draken saw it.

Almost so easy to miss, especially because it was done so surreptitiously.

Inui was right. There was definitely a smile Draken saw on Mitsuya's face as if his Omega did find something he liked in the air.

"Ken, you're not joining us?" Mitsuya's scrunched eyebrows entered his sight, sobering him up from quick observation. Next to him, a pair of raised eyebrows communicating without a word.

Draken grinned.

"Sorry, too caught up with how beautiful you are."

Inui snorted.

4.

Mitsuya had just turned 28, he was a healthy male, in his prime condition. He loved working out, he kept his body in shape, and he cared about his health just as much as he cared about everything else.

And yet, when he stood up from the chair, he couldn't help to prop his waist and groan.

"Shit," the curse escaped his mouth, as he leaned to the table.

Draken came to him like he was being summoned. His hair was wet, and he hadn't dried himself properly, judging from the way he was shiny from water droplets all over his body. Good thing, he managed to snatch training pants before he emerged from the shower.

"What's wrong? Are you okay? Are you in pain?"

While the concern was not unwelcome, Mitsuya couldn't help to sneeze at the sudden sharp scent coming off the Alpha.

"Can you sit down, Taka?"

At that, Mitsuya straightened his back and he could hear a crack upon doing so. And as in perfect synchronization, he could feel a soft kick in his belly. Usually, it brought him joy, knowing that the growing child in him, was healthy as ever. But, Mitsuya had been gotten kicked all morning, not to mention, it didn't help with the back pain and sore muscles all over him.

I'm not getting old, I'm just pregnant, he thought irritatedly.

Somehow it annoyed him enough to grumble.

"Your child's been kicking me all day."

A strong artemisia and mint spiked the air.

"Oh, so, now it's my child?" Draken grinned delightfully, as he went to help his mate to walk to their bedroom.

Mitsuya leaned to his Alpha, rubbing himself on his shoulder, uncaring that his Alpha was not fully dry. The skin was cold, and it brought him great comfort. Draken seemed to notice that Mitsuya's clinging to him, that he didn't attempt to remove himself even after they sat down on the bed.

"Do you need anything?" His Alpha asked as he combed his black-lilac hair.

Mitsuya shook his head, but he answered nonetheless.

"You, Alpha," he closed his eyes, unashamedly scenting his mate.

Draken laid a soft kiss upon his temple in return. "Then, you got me."

5.

"I'm starting to feel like this baby will have a lot of aunts and uncles."

Draken couldn't hide his amusement as the scene unfolded before their eyes. It was not easy to break the news to their whole friends, but a simple "Can you guys come over? We're throwing a party" apparently had been a great help.

It wasn't like he and his mate hiding the whole thing. Several people who lived close by knew. But most of them didn't know, especially because they had scattered all over the world. Literally.

Breaking the news was equal to conducting a small reunion.

It was difficult to collect their friends, but they seemed to understand that it had not to be just a regular party if it was initiated by none than other, Draken and Mitsuya.

The two were just not into social media, so people didn't get the memo about Mitsuya's being pregnant (Draken remembered the hassle when he wanted to announce that he and Mitsuya were finally mating).

Many friends of theirs didn't know it until they arrived at Mitsuya-Ryuuguuji's household and caught the pair in the act.

"What the fuck! You're gonna be dads too!"

("Pah-chin, language.")

"You're—with—a-a—child—oh my God. Tell me this is not a prank!"

("Tell that to my back pain.")

"I'm gonna be an auntie!"

"We're gonna be aunties!"

("This child would be delighted to have wonderful aunties like you two.")

"And uncles! We're all gonna be uncles!"

("Yes, definitely. So many uncles.")

Being one of the few first people who was expecting a child (Pah-chin had one already), Draken couldn't help himself to get involved to make the situation more exciting.

Now, they were betting on which uncle and auntie the child would favor more.

"At this rate," he whispered to Mitsuya, as their friends started to bet whose name the unborn child would call first. "We're gonna save so much if they do volunteer to spoil our kid."

Mitsuya smacked his Alpha's head.

6.

Mitsuya was restless.

He had been ordered to take an early official maternity leave, despite how much he adamantly refused and convinced his boss, that he was okay with working from the office. It was easier to work in his office where he could find all the materials for his design within the reach. Mitsuya loved being at home, but being at home at the time when he usually worked at the office, disorientated him.

He didn't know what to do.

Draken was at the bike shop. Mitsuya had done the house chores and even managed to do things he wanted to do when he didn't have time. He rearranged his bookshelf, he did some gardening, and he was finally able to fix clothes he always needed (and wanted) to fix. He even went to length, prepping the fresh products and groceries for a whole week.

Mitsuya tried to text Yasuda, asking her if there was any project he could help with from home, but Yasuda simply replied with: "Next project: take care of yourself and the baby (。・ω・。)ノ♡"

Mitsuya wished Draken was here because at least he wouldn't be this lonely.

Mitsuya surfed the TV channel idly, before he put the remote down and once again, reached for his phone.

"I miss works," he wrote.

The reply came faster than he expected.

"Stop being a workaholic and relax."

"I'm so bored. I've done all the house chores, and now I don't know what else to do."

Mitsuya waited for a while before he set the phone down. It seemed that Draken wouldn't able to reply so soon again.

He sighed, as he turned his attention toward the TV.

Mitsuya knew what the real problem was.

He missed Draken.

Mitsuya didn't want to admit it out loud because he thought he was being too clingy, but Draken had occupied his mind ever since his Alpha bid him goodbyes this morning.

He thought of him, as he rearranged Draken's subscribed automotive magazines. He thought of him when he fixed the spare D&D uniform. He thought of what Draken would enjoy as he did the prep meals.

Mitsuya also unconsciously snatched Draken's haori, when he finally settled himself to watch TV.

"It's ridiculous, he's just at work. It wasn't like I'm not gonna see him after work," Mitsuya chided himself. And yet, he still felt a pang of disappointment when he glanced at his phone and his phone didn't buzz with a notification from a certain Alpha.

Mitsuya sighed.

Ignoring his restlessness, he forced himself to focus on the trivia program on the TV. Mitsuya remembered he could do some knitting to spend the time, so he did exactly that too.

Pink and orange, he mused, as he picked the yarns and the needles. He had just begun the first stitch when he heard the front door open.

He hadn't even gotten up yet, but Draken had already stood there in his overalls. Sweats dripped from his forehead as if he had sprinted to come home.

Mitsuya scented the air.

It was amazing, how his Alpha's familiar scent instantly drove the restlessness away.

"Ken, what are you doing here—"

Draken stared at him like he hadn't seen Mitsuya huddled in the bed wearing his clothes. The scent getting stronger and Mitsuya found himself delighted at his Alpha's reaction.

"Inupi kicked me out," Draken shook his head, trying his best to not smile, but Mitsuya saw the corner of his mouth twitch anyway. "Told me, he could handle the shop by himself without me mooning over you."

Mitsuya chuckled. He remembered how Inui always complained that Draken drove him crazy with his 'spicy and irritating scent' whenever his Alpha was agitated.

"I'm just a block away, Ken," Mitsuya said with a smile.

Draken seemed like he just wanted to climb to bed and just joined the Omega, but thinking better of it.

"Always too far," Draken grumbled, as he glanced at the bathroom. "I'm gonna shower first, then I'm gonna cuddle you to sleep. I need the daily dose of my Omega."

Mitsuya pretended he didn't feel the warmth all over his body, as he resumed his knitting. "You're one weird Alpha, Ken."

Draken laughed in agreement when he walked to the bathroom. "Yup, your one weird Alpha's gonna cuddle his one wonderful Omega so hard."

7.

Draken's excuse was that he wasn't entirely tired and that he woke up instantly.

At first, he wasn't sure what had woken him up. He was disoriented for a full minute before he realized that what interrupted his sleep was rubbing himself on him.

While he was unconscious.

Draken blinked, too stunned to react.

But it was definitely Mitsuya grinding himself on Draken's thigh. His hand fisted the henley, and he was in an incredibly awkward position, with his baby bump and the blanket tangled between them.

Draken and Mitsuya hadn't had sex for a while. It was surprising that Mitsuya was the one who almost couldn't restrain himself in the early stage of his pregnancy. Draken prided himself as good Alpha for not easily caving in when his Omega tried to rope him for some skin-to-skin intimacy. Here and there, Draken still indulged him until eventually, Mitsuya was too tired for any complicated action.

Of course, Draken didn't find Mitsuya less desirable, but he prioritized his Omega's comfort and the baby.

Draken could say that he was proud of his self-restraint.

So far.

"Alpha—" Mitsuya grunted in his sleep.

Draken's breath hitched. The tantalizing smell of his Omega permeated the air. He was pretty sure Mitsuya's leaking slick if the strong scent was any indication.

It had been a while and Mitsuya had always been attractive to Draken, even more so, now.

"Fuck," Draken hissed, feeling one of Mitsuya's hands travel toward his boxer, groping him.

"Taka, wake up," he yelped when the hand seemed to know where to touch him based on muscle memory alone. "Fuck, if you don't stop—"

Draken half-expected Mitsuya to retract himself and just left him hanging. That way, he could finish what Mitsuya had cruelly started in the bathroom. But the Omega didn't even remove himself from him. He nuzzled Draken's chest and, oh God and all that's holy, he used two hands—

"Fuck, Taka—" he threw his head back, suppressing the moan that threatened to escape his lips when the ministration went further than just touching.

Draken didn't expect Mitsuya to kiss his jaw.

"Alpha," the sultry voice nearly didn't convince Draken that Mitsuya had fully awakened, until it spoke more. "Want you to touch me."

Draken mentally wracked his brain for the info on how to do a safe sex during the pregnancy. It was incredibly hard to think amidst the 'I'm gonna get some' that clouded his mind, but well, Draken always prided himself to be a good Alpha, didn't he?

+1.

"Ken."

"Hm?"

"What if I can't be a good father for this child?"

"Then, you can learn with me because I have no idea how to be a good father either."

"Do you think we can do that? Being a good father despite not having a good father figure in our life?"

"I'm not gonna lie, it will be hard, but it's not impossible. We can do this."

"We're together in this, huh?"

"We're always together from the start, Taka. We're on this together. You and me."

"Ken."

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

"I love you too."

"Um—"

"What is it?"

"Sorry, for waking you up like that."

"Are you kidding? That's one of the most intense sex we've ever done. We should do it again."
