A Week in the Life of Akaashi Keiji

Summary:

Training camp his first year he'd decided that in order to be perfect for the upperclassman he looked up to he'd need to improve his physique, specifically he needed to lose weight. None of the other setters were as big as he was (Even if that one Seijoh setter was taller) and he knew that Bokuto deserved the best.

Notes:

This is just the prologue! I'm gonna post whenever I remember really. I've been writing this for a while, I just need to go through and edit the chapters.
Anyways, enjoy Sunday!

~

Sunday marked the beginning of Keiji's week. Sundays were almost exactly the same every week too. As were Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays but that's how it is when you focus on perfection.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Sunday

Chapter Text

Sundays were always the same. As were the next three days of the week. Keiji just thinks this is how it is when you’re focused on perfection.

Every Sunday Keiji wakes up with a splitting headache, a sore throat, and full body chills. His knuckles still ached from biting them the previous night, hunched over a toilet and crying silently.

Ignoring his memory (that was yesterday, you can’t do anything about yesterday except overcorrect today.) the second year stands up and goes to the bathroom. After brushing his teeth it’s maybe a minute before he’s emptied his bladder and stripped down to nothing. He steps on the scale.

51.7 kilograms.

The majority of his Sundays were spent in the bathroom.

Go to the kitchen, get water. Run a cold bath, drink water, and chill himself to death. Grab more water. Drink more water. Chill his skin and his bones. Repeat.

At dinner his mother insists he eats with her, so he chokes down just enough to get her off his back, thanks her and tells her goodnight.

In his room he does sit-ups until he feels like puking, chills himself in the bath for a final time and reads until ten in the evening.

Crawling under his covers he smiles to himself.

Just a few more days, and he’ll have lost it. Just a few more days and he’ll be perfect.

Just 1.4 kilos and he’ll be perfect.
