Work Text:
Lambert honestly didn't notice the pattern at first, too busy being flustered by the whole of the action to pay attention to the specifics.
Leo would start every morning by peppering kisses across Lambert’s face. His cheeks, brow, hairline, nose, jaw, and chin all smothered in affection every morning, as though Leo couldn't bear to start his day without an outpouring of love. It was all Lambert could do to simply keep himself from hiding his face in his pillow, barely able to handle such open affection.
At the very least, Leo kept himself to more restrained displays around the others, understanding that Lambert was easily embarrassed by the attention.
Still, Leo would catch him in the lab, or the kitchens, or the training field, and press kisses to his skin.
It took far longer than it should have for Lambert to notice the pattern.
At least once a day, Leo would kiss his nose.
"Why?" he asked one morning, staring into Leo's deep brown eyes.
Leo smiled, pressing another kiss to the bridge of Lambert’s nose.
"'Cause it's there," he said, grinning. "And 'cause you need kissed as much as I can manage."
Lambert felt his cheeks flush, and turned to bury his face in his pillow. He heard Leo laugh, and felt arms wrap around his waist, and kisses began to rain down on his exposed neck and shoulders.
"You're such a fuckin' sap," Lambert griped. "You're an embarrassment."
Leo chuckled into his shoulder, and Lambert had to fight down a shiver.
"Want me to stop kissing you, then?"
"Don't you fucking dare."
