He’s getting out in a week and he’s lost, John. He’s got nowhere to go. No family, no anything. And I know if he doesn’t have something he’s just gonna go back to his old habits and land himself right back in prison, or worse.”
“So what, you want me to babysit him?”
“No, I want you to put him to work.”

He hasn't slept with a servant since he outgrew the need for a nursemaid. Henry turns out to be an exceptionally poor bedfellow. On the first night, he wakes Hans up by kicking the blankets off the bed, then by smacking him in the face with the back of his hand, and finally by shouting something about his parents. Hans retaliates in kind, waking him from his nightmares with knees and elbows, muttering furiously, "You're making noise again. Stop it."
"Sorry, sir," Henry says meekly each time, but he doesn't stop.
