With a casual ease that spoke volumes to the sheer amount of times they must've done this, Pearl greeted the blonde with a crooked smile framed by dimples on their face. To say that they were oblivious to the scrutinizing look Haley bent upon them would've been quite the understatement, but they were never one to think poorly of anyone. Their crooked smile took on a dopey quality the longer she wordlessly stared at them until—
"You know... I would think you were almost cute, if not for the fishy smell..." Her nose delicately wrinkled as if she'd smelt something rotten, and their dopey smile turned into one of pure confusion as they tilted their head.
"S'nothing wrong with smellin' like fish, Haley. Besides, just ya wait until I whip up sushi with the fresh catch of the day!" Their smile returned in full force as Pearl winked at Haley, then they turned on their croc-covered heel and leisurely walked off to their beach farm.
It was too bad they'd walked away so soon, otherwise they would've caught sight of the pretty pink shade that her face turned at their wink...
