   Summary

   It’s been five years since Joel pulled Ellie from the hospital bed in Salt Lake and returned to Jackson in an attempt to live a normal life. Trouble soon follows when a wronged daughter seeks justice for one of Joel’s past victims: her father.

   After being taken hostage by a vengeful Abby and the Washington Liberation Front, Joel narrowly escapes Seattle and heads back East. Instead of returning to Jackson, Joel chooses to live in solitude in an attempt to protect Ellie and Tommy from further trouble.

   Mira Allen meets Joel outside of the Boise QZ, and they soon find solace in each other as fellow lone wolves. When an unexpected development has them fleeing the QZ to protect Mira, Joel reveals there may be a safe place for her back in Jackson. Mira uncovers the truth of Joel’s past that leads them back to his family, and a chance at a better future.
