Five Nights at Nevermore's

Summary:

tyler just started his new nighttime security job at Nevermore's Outcast Diner, will he survive the week against every animatronic getting a little quirky at night? or will he succumb and die

or: fnaf au

Notes:

HEEYYOOO hi :] this isn’t the first chapter, that’s next, this is just me introducing some of the characters/explaining the animatronic dynamics that’s going to be displayed throughout the story instead of explained throughout the story! that was definitely a confusing sentence (sorry) but hopefully it’ll make more sense later.

ps: all the (notes like this) are notes made by phone guy. think of them like meta author notes LMAO

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

consider this like a job orientation.

             -phone guy ;)

Background Info
We hope you know all about the diner, but incase you don’t let me run you through some quick points:

-The Addams family owns and operates the diner, they even built and designed the animatronics

-The diner was originally built in the 60’s, burned down, got rebuilt and now we’re here

-The diner is designed after a gothic boarding school in Vermont (weird I know)

-The hall to your right is Ophelia hall, the hall to your left is Edenvale hall (not the most important but it’s funnier than calling them the right and left halls)

The Nightshades-

This is the main band, the ones who do all the singing and instrument playing. The main attractions, they play mostly during rush hours and usual mealtimes. For birthdays, or any special event scheduled, they’ll sing custom songs. This means they have a wide range of vocabulary programmed in their voice boxes.

The Siren- (Bianca)

She’s the lead singer. Her design is that of a human but with unnaturally blue eyes, webbed hands, talon-like nails, and shiny scale details along: her face, hands, arms, neck, and legs. She’s dressed in an iridescent blue and purple glittery dress with heels that make a clicking sound when she walks. She’s 6ft/183cm

Being the main attraction means you have to be responsible for starting the performances. Therefore she has motion sensors built into her eyes. When she starts to sing, it sends a signal to the other Nightshades to start their acts as well.

We’ve found that she has a mimicking feature, it wasn’t noted in the manual, but we don’t want to remove it in the case of a voided warranty. And besides, she can do a mean Judy Garland impression. So if you hear a voice that sounds like it might be yours, hide.

The Twins- (Divina and Kent)

The guitarists, Divina is the bass guitarist and Kent is the rhythm guitarist. Each of them have heterochromia, one eye is unnaturally blue, and the other is brown. Kent’s left eye is blue, Div’s right eye is blue. They have scale details along their faces and hands. When they smile they have a full mouth of sharp teeth. They’re both 6’1ft/185cm. Dressed in matching tailcoat tuxedos (i think they r cool).

Unlike the rest of the animatronics, their faces aren’t set to one look. Their heads can swivel to reveal four emotions in total: sad, neutral, happy/smiling, and (a secret fourth option) angry. The other faces are hidden by their “hair” (they’re animatronics; they don’t have real hair).

They get along well with each other. They enjoy telling jokes to the crowd, and to each other, while we are still not sure what they joke about, the fans find it endearing. There have been reports of them whispering and laughing at night when they wander too close to the security office.

The Nosferatu-(Yoko)

Keyboardist/pianist. She can do both, depending on the night. Functions as a security bot as well as an entertainer, her eyes are designed to be cameras but for some reason we can’t get them connected to the security office system. Designed with detachable sunglasses, they’re meant to be worn during the day, to reduce glares on the camera lens, but are typically kept on all day. It’s a hassle taking them on and off.

Our vibrant humanoid Nosferatu is a fan favorite. They have retractable fangs that are triggered every ten minutes, we’ve been trying to fix the “shing!” sound that comes from them. She has pointed ears that stick out of her long black hair. They are dressed in an arguably stereotypical vampire outfit. A dress shirt tucked into dress pants, and a cape that sparkles when the spotlight hits it. Occasionally we give her different kinds of shades, they have no purpose other than to be cosmetic. Approximately 6’7ft/200cm.

Has red eyes that can be seen in the dark, so watch out. Once you see these eyes it’s best that you act quickly- despite her loud personality- she’s a silent walker.

La Loba y El Cuervo

The dynamic duo. While there are human waiters employed at Nevermore’s Outcast Diner, we have a couple of animatronic ones as well. They aren’t built for entertainment but customers love them regardless. They take orders and deliver them to tables. These two are unique, they were created in the image of the relationship found in nature between a wolf and a raven. The Addams were very keen on these two, they thought they would be a nice addition to the “Nevermore Family”.

They can communicate with each other without making verbal sounds, almost telepathically. It’s very helpful when taking orders, but we still have incidents of the food not getting to the right table, that’s getting worked on.

La Loba- (Enid)

When on all fours, she’s about four feet/121cm tall. When standing, about eight feet/244cm tall. (Absolutely horrifying.) She carries orders on her back out to the tables, sometimes she’ll be the one to take the orders but that’s mainly the Raven’s job.

She doubles as a security animatronic, she has titanium tipped claws that are to be used strictly in emergency situations. However, usually just her presence is enough to scare off anyone who would wish harm to the guests or staff. Kids typically color her faux fur with hair chalk that’s provided to guests 12 and under (instead of typical crayons and coloring sheets that other family restaurants offer, we’re cool like that). Due to this she’s known as the “Rainbow Wolf”, “Color Dog”, or maybe even “Cotton Candy Doggy” by grade schoolers.

When not on duty she can be found sitting, with Wednesday on her shoulder, in the kitchen awaiting a table. 78% of the time she is in the kitchen after hours, ironically she’s not one of our most active at night. (Funnily enough though she’s very active during full moons, must’ve been like a joke the engineers thought was funny)

El Cuervo- (Wednesday)

Decorated with pitch black plastic feathers with deep purple accent details, not much taller than one foot/30cm. A life size raven animatronic with remote control flying capabilities. First time customers may be confused when a raven lands on their table but they usually catch on after the first thirty seconds of silent staring. She never says anything other than the occasional “Order!” and “Nevermore.” Her two lines are short but sweet, the “Order!” dialogue is triggered after about 45 seconds of her landing on a table without receiving information. The “Nevermore.” dialogue is triggered at random intervals for ambience.

She has voice recognition capabilities and voice commands, none that would be useful in a fight, but enough for a waitress bird. There are magnets on the bottom of her feet to help her perch around the restaurant, and to sit on La Loba’s shoulders easier after hours.

Sometimes her free-roaming settings are turned on early and she’s allowed to freely fly around the restaurant or walk on the floor to hollowly stare at customers. Other times she flies too freely and ends up in the vents, some are suspicious that she’s doing it on purpose to spy on people.

Villain

Beastly Hyde-(my personal fav)

Only seen on rare occasions like Halloween, or Christmas. This 9ft/274cm tall animatronic was designed to be an antagonist character to the Nightshades, but is more of a boogeyman now. His design has been redone many times due to people complaining about the ugliness of it, after a few attempts to appease the masses the designers decided to stick with their original design anyway.

Huge bug eyes, gray leathery skin, stringy greasy hair, disproportionate lanky limbs, and gnarly sharp teeth.

When he was a regular character he would be seen interrupting a Nightshades performance, giving a roar, and then the Nightshades fend him off with the help of the audience’s cheers. Then they would go back to playing like normal.

He was considered for Scrapping multiple times, but was decided to only be used a couple days of the year. After the accident in ‘01, everyone decided it was for the best.

Scrapped

These are animatronics that were either scrapped because they weren’t very good, customers hated them, they were boring, or a multitude of other reasons.

The Pilgrim-

A 7ft/213cm tall rotted pilgrim with a wicked smile and a staff. He was meant to be a villain-type animatronic but it just didn’t fit the theme so his model was tossed out. He had a habit of catching on fire, and trying to swat at Wednesday the Raven.

The Painter-

Not much to him, customers didn’t care for him, he stuck out like a sore thumb, and there were constant complaints about him being the bad kind of creepy. He was the drummer in the Nightshades.

The Hive-

A swarm of bees, cool in theory but in practicality it wasn’t a very good design. They couldn’t figure out what they could’ve done with it entertainment wise, or how they could’ve designed it to be practical, so it got scrapped.

The Shapeshifter-

This was meant to be an animatronic that had features similar to the Twin’s changing face- but everywhere. They wanted them to be able to change their face, clothes, hair, voice, and height mid-performance. They were close a few times but there was always a bug starting from the neck and traveling all through the body, which would end with the entire robot falling apart.

(I hope they try this one again in the future)

Mad Scientist-

A plant scientist gone rogue, only grew poisonous plants/flowers. No recorded information of why this idea was scrapped.

DJ Bloodsuckaz-

He was a DJ meant for upbeat parties, he was a great addition until one night at a school dance he was rented out to had an incident with their sprinkler system. He’s in repair but they don’t know how long it will take for him to get back to full working capacity.
