She nodded, sighing once she opened her mouth to speak,"I just.. never knew you felt the same. I never knew you felt like that."

"Pomni, I'm sor—"
The jester's hand stayed firm on her arm.
"Don't apologize.. It's—It's okay," she replied, glancing down with a nervous smile on her face. Okay yeah, definitely no mind tricks then.

Ragatha and Pomni playfully wrestle as a means to solve a silly argument, until Ragatha pins Pomni into submission and they both suddenly forget what the argument was about. One thing leads to another, we all know where this is going…

"Do—y-y-y-you think we'd s-s-still… like each other in the—r-r-real world?"
Pomni lifted her head, staring up at Ragatha as she replied thoughtfully.
"If it were up to me.. we'd be married, Rags.."

It happened in privacy, solitude, where no one could see her fall. But someone had, if only she’d been there in time.

"..I hate her," Ragatha sniffled, grimacing at her own words. What an ungrateful little —
"W-Well, I don't—"

Caine's nightmarish mirage haunted Ragatha. She couldn't sleep, not when things slithered and stabbed her each time she closed her eyes. She couldn't live like this, just barely on the edge when a certain jester pulls her out.

Summary
There's an empty circus to perhaps rebuild, a lot of questions to ponder, and a lot of 'what-now's they'll all have to figure out. But right now, Ragatha's still trying to forget her mother's gaze. It isn't working.
She'll have to forget her, to move on, and to start 'conjuring' a new life here, not that she even knows how to do that yet. But, then, knowing how to do it isn't a requirement; she only has to be thinking about it hard enough, and the subject of her mind will find her.
Set in the immediate aftermath of Episode 8.

Summary
The memory replayed in her head, fresh yet fabricated. A part of her still wondered if maybe this was a dream. Being trapped in a videogame for eternity wasn’t real. Losing Gummigoo wasn’t real. That horrible mansion with all those ghosts and monsters wasn’t real. Abstraction wasn’t real. The words Jax had said to her weren’t real. They couldn’t have been.
Pomni felt her vision blur as something wet rolled down her cheek. Hot tears filled her eyes and she desperately tried to wipe them away. Hide them. Erase them. They needed to disappear before—
“Pomni?” came a soft voice from behind.

Summary
The exit was a lie. Freedom was an illusion. And the knowledge that Caine can reach inside their minds leaves a fear stronger than abstraction. Pomni doesn't know what to think. The tiny silver shred of hope she had always held onto was gone forever. Every thought feels suspect. Every emotion feels borrowed. When reality itself is artificial, how can she trust anything she feels?
Ragatha notices.
Always gentle, always patient, Ragatha becomes Pomni’s anchor in a place that refuses to stay still. The two begin to lean towards each other, keeping each other grounded when the world begins to tilt. They have each other, but there is a heavy question that makes them doubt everything they feel for each other:
If everything around you is fake…

Summary
Condemned to a life of eternal confinement within the Digital Circus, Pomni falls into a vicious cyle of anger, bitterness, and depression. Dark clouds swirl all around. Unless she can find something to live for — a single ray of sunshine to light the way — it won't be long before she reaches her breaking point. But when a single act of kindness from Ragatha finally gives Pomni a reason to venture out of her room, she quickly finds herself in the midst of a haunted house adventure with the redheaded ragdoll — and it isn't very long before she starts catching feelings.
2026 UPDATE: Guys. I won. I studied my butt off and earned all my certs. Quit my horrible, soul-sucking teaching job. Started SSRIs. Proposed to my girlfriend. We're engaged. We have a cat (she is cute). That has nothing to do with the story, but I love my fiancee and I love my cat and I love my life and I'm so excited and just felt like shouting it from the rooftops. ANYWAY. I finally feel like I'm ready to finish this little sapphic story. Will it take weeks? Months? Another year? I dunno. I'm still pretty busy, just...less depressed, I guess? But stay tuned. It will come when you least expect it, like a little gay thief in the night ;)
