Work Text:
Upon getting home, Ango just wanted to collapse into bed, and not get up again. However, Oda was sitting at his desk, writing notes for his book. He wanted to get the base idea down before he started writing it, so, since he was waiting for Ango to get home, he started working on it. When the front door opened, he looked over and saw how his boyfriend seemed to droop tiredly, dropping his bag by the front door.
Closing and locking the door, Ango then toed his shoes off. Before stumbling over to Oda, falling onto the taller man’s lap. Getting an amused chuckle in response, as arms snake around his waist.
“Welcome home, would you like me to make supper?” Oda asked, glad to see that Ango actually made it home.
“Supper sounds amazing, but after that I am totally going to crash for the night,” Ango mumbled, leaning on Oda more.
A soft kiss was pressed to his cheek, “Of course, you can even stay here while I make supper.”
Making a sound of disagreement, he tiredly mumbled, “You’ll make curry, and it will be so spicy that I can’t eat it. I know you don’t notice if it’s spicy or not.”
“It’s not that bad,” Oda laughed, “but you can join me if you want.”
Ango grumbled something, and stood up, letting Oda get out of his seat. Walking into the kitchen together, Ango leaned against the cabinets. While Oda walked past him, and pulled a pot out of a cabinet. Placing it on the stove, he then went to the fridge and pulled out the ingredients he needed.
After chopping some ingredients up, and getting everything into the pot, along with putting some rice into a pot of water, he turned back towards Ango. The other was practically falling asleep standing up, and Oda softly brushed some of his hair out of his face. Tiredly, Ango opened his eyes, leaning towards Oda, who held him carefully. Rubbing his back while Ango rested his head against his shoulder.
“I'm going out for a smoke while supper cooks,” Oda told Ango, kissing him on the forehead.
“Can I come with?” Ango inquired, not wanting to let go.
That got him a soft chuckle, “Of course.”
Going to the door to the deck, Ango kept leaning lightly into Oda’s space. Once outside, they closed the door to keep smoke from getting into the house. Setting off the fire alarm was not what they wanted to do.
Pulling out a box of cigarettes, and a lighter, Oda put one into his mouth and lit it. Sliding the lighter and cigarettes back into his pocket, before taking a drag. Smoke spilling out of his mouth as he breathed it out. Ango was still close to him, wanting to be as close as possible to Oda at that moment.
“Do you want a drag?” Oda offered, after he had taken a few drags of the cigarette.
“Sure,” Ango took it from his hand, sucking in the smoke.
He didn’t cough, which was something he had done the first time Oda ever offered him a cigarette. It’d been embarrassing, but he’d gotten used to breathing in the smoke after a few times. Although he didn’t smoke often, only ever taking a drag from Oda’s cigarette.
Leaning his head on Oda’s shoulder, Ango took a few more drags, watching the smoke spill from his own lips. He didn’t even notice his boyfriend staring at his lips, like he wanted to steal a kiss from him. When Ango next removed the cigarette from his mouth, blowing out the smoke, Oda leaned over and pressed their lips together.
The hand still holding the cigarette was kept by the railing of the deck, while Ango’s other hand came up to cup Oda’s face. It was a sweet, yet short kiss, lasting only a few moments before they pulled away. Remaining close, they leaned in for another kiss, before Oda drew back.
Taking Ango’s hand that was holding the cigarette in his own, and took a drag of the cigarette. Oda smirked when he saw a blush spread across Ango’s face. Letting go, he turned back towards the house.
“We should go in soon,” Oda stated simply.
“Alright…” Ango was feeling some of his tiredness return.
Reentering the house, Oda went over to the curry and checked if it was done. Pleased to see that it was done, he turned off the oven, and removed the pots from the burners. Pulling out some plates, Oda then went over to the rice and strained it, using the cover to hold the rice inside, while the water poured out.
Then, he scooped some rice onto the plate, followed by some curry. Ango had already sat down, tiredly staring at the table. Oda slid the plates onto the table, sitting down, and watching how Ango took a bite of his food. He made a face at the spiciness, which he’d been expecting a bit of, but then continued eating his food.
“You’re finally getting used to spicy food,” Oda smiled fondly at him.
“I had to with how much spice you use on everything, although… it’s not bad,” Ango gave him a tired smile back, before returning to eating his curry.
Both of them ate in silence, wanting to finish eating, so they could go to bed. It’d been a long day, and neither of them wanted to be up for much longer. Even Oda was beginning to get tired, as it was far later than he usually stayed up.
So, upon finishing their supper, Oda grabbed the plates, and placed them in the sink. While Ango went and changed out of his work clothes. With the dishes dealt with, Oda headed to the bedroom, where Ango had collapsed into bed.
Oda laid down beside him, hugging Ango from behind, while the younger snuggled against his chest. It only took a few minutes for Ango to fall asleep, not even waking as Oda kissed his forehead. Mumbling a quiet good night.
