Chapter Text

Thor

Thor walked through the corridors of the compound in search of the main arena of Ragnarok, where the fighter on the part of humankind was surely already waiting. He wasn't too excited to think about it, how powerful could a mortal be in comparison to him? There was no point in such an encounter. Halfway through his journey, he bumped into you, he couldn't ignore the sneer-laden look you gave him, that did nothing but finish capturing his attention. He unconsciously kept his gaze fixed on you for what seemed like incredibly long hours.

"Where did this woman come from?" he thought with intrigue.

You were all that was on his mind, his every thought was about you, and about the lovely silhouette of your body draped in a long, dazzling purple dress. He would have watched you in wonder longer, had it not been for the haughty words you let go from your lips.

"The gods will regret their decision." You assured him as you passed him, avoiding keeping your gaze from his. "Humankind will win at Ragnarok, you have no chance of victory."

Thor, for the first time in a long time, smiled with amusement; a hint of grace and attraction drew him to you. He wanted you to provoke him further. He held you with his one free hand, and brought his calm face close to yours.

"After I finish with my opponent I will teach you to keep your mouth shut, stupid Valkyrie."

Lü Bu

You were the valkyrie selected for Lü Bu, your skills perfectly complemented his, you knew he was a terrifying warrior, so when you first observed him your legs trembled slightly. His sadistic gaze seemed scary to you, but you had full confidence that he would not harm you, because you were the only one who could help him fight a god.

"Treat me well, Lord Lü Bu."

He looked away from Brunhild for the first time when he heard your voice flood the room. He flashed you his sharp murderous smile, and pulled you until you were against his chest.

"I will not allow you to end up with a single scratch, valkyrie." He assured, with a more appeasing tone than you expected. "At the end of this combat, we will raise the head of that god in your honor; because you will be the one who led the great Lü Bu to victory."

Feeling more confident in his trust, you sighed before joining your soul to his.

Zeus

You are the daughter of Odin, the most powerful Norse god of all; so you were obliged to participate in Ragnarok whether you liked it or not. After witnessing your brother's sweeping victory, you found yourself waiting for the next competitors. The crowd in the stands kept repeating the name of Zeus. You would be lying to say that you had not heard that name millions of times, because everyone hailed him as the father of the cosmos, the god among gods. You clung tightly to your seat, amazed at what your eyes observed during the fight.

"That old man is incredibly strong!"

You exclaimed as you observed the magnitude and speed of his attacks, he didn't even use a weapon, his raw power overwhelmed you. Loki gave a derisive laugh when he saw you so excited and his father so annoyed by it.

"He certainly is." Your brother, despite being the god of deception, could not lie about it. "But I would recommend you keep your distance from him. After all, he is well known for leaving offspring with every woman who crosses him."

Of course you didn't believe him! Such a powerful god could not perform such... a dishonorable thing, almost human. Ignoring Loki, you thought about how much you wanted to express your respect and surprise to Zeus. And, as if the universe had heard you, the opportunity was granted to you as you were summoned to an urgent meeting because of Poseidon's death. However, as soon as Zeus looked at you, you firmly believed every one of your brother's warnings.

"So you are Odin's daughter, why don't you come a little closer?"

Adam

You two met by accident. It was your turn to unite your soul with the next representative of humanity, so you searched the corridors for Brunhild. As you turned one of the corners, you crashed into the body of a stranger causing you both to fall. You landed on top of that person, and it wasn't until you heard an insistent pounding in your ear that you became aware of the bare chest beneath you.

"It must really be comfortable to be on top of me."

When his nonchalant voice reached your ears, you immediately stood up feeling your face heat up with embarrassment, it was the first time something like this had happened to you. You noticed that the blond man was only covering his crotch with a sheet.

"I'm so sorry, forgive me!" You covered your face, it was like having him naked in front of you. "I was looking for my sister, I didn't mean to hit you and make you fall."

His features were completely calm; he wasn't upset, in fact, he looked delighted. His piercing sapphires were all over you, captivating you and somehow making you feel totally exposed in front of him. Who is this guy?

"It's ok." He assured you, still without taking his eyes off you. "You are my Valkyrie, aren't you?"

You calmed down and pointed at him with your finger, surprised at the destiny that had brought them together.

"Are you Adam?" You asked confusily "You are the next human to fight?"

His expressionless face moved up and down calmly, analyzing you like a predator analyzing its prey. That you were on top of him didn't really bother him at all.

"Let us strive for the good of humankind!"

He smiled slightly at you, pleased by your determination, he found you adorable.

Poseidon

He was tired of hearing everyone go crazy over your first public appearance as Odin's daughter. Who the hell cares about the Norse gods? You are the goddess of peace, forgiveness and light; yet to Poseidon you did not represent an imposing presence or as powerful as the rest claimed, surely you would prove to be a hindrance to the gods.

It was then that he made his way to the balcony from which he would observe the fights prior to his own, as he made his way to his seat, he found you upon it. He squealed in annoyance, he was no longer willing to tolerate incompetents. He tapped you on the shoulder before being brutally struck in the abdomen by something he was unable to observe. He crashed into the wall before shaking his head, he was slightly dazed. The rest of the gods present pretended not to observe anything so as not to get in trouble. You stood up, a heavenly light shone around you; Poseidon thought you were a beautiful hallucination.

You touched his cheek with your hand before declaring: "Your heart is not at peace, you need to forgive."

He came back suddenly, pushing your hand away with displeasure, pretending that he was not nervous because of what he thought when he looked at you.

"What did you do to me?"

You laughed lightly, as if he had told you some kind of joke. Poseidon stood up, dodging your gaze.

"I didn't do anything, when you touched me your own darkness attacked you." You came closer, forcing him to look at you once more. "Would you like me to turn it into light?" You placed your hand on his chest shamelessly. "For that, I need you to give me your heart."

He wasn't sure if you were speaking literally or metaphorically, but he took a couple of steps back before turning around and leaving the place. His face began to feel hot, and in his chest there was a violent pounding. Damn it, what was happening to him?

Sasaki Kojirou

You were in Brunhild's living room, trying to help Geir control your older sister's nervous breakdown; she was finding it hard to cope with the fact that humanity was facing two consecutive defeats. Without warning, someone entered the room; you turned as you heard the sound of the metal door moving. You noticed a man, it was Sasaki, who was walking confidently towards you. His presence froze you.

"Excuse me, miss."

He looked at you and smiled politely, you didn't stop him when he selected himself on your sister's screen, you had a hunch about him. Such self-confidence could not be had by just anyone.

"Sasaki Kojirou." you called out to him, glancing slightly at the screen before fixing your gaze on him. "Poseidon is not just any god, you should rethink your decision."

He slung his katana over his shoulder as he turned his gaze back to you. Lightly scratching his cheek without erasing the smile he had formed.

"Trust me, young valkyrie." the painful throbbing of your heart made you mute. "I will defeat that god."

Although you probably shouldn't have, you believed in him at once; even before he could finish his sentence. This man inspired in you a whirlwind of feelings that you were not able to understand at that precise moment; perhaps you needed his help.

"I'll believe in you, so you'd better defeat that tyrant of the seas!"

His light laughter caused you to shiver slightly. Sasaki was able to sense the flame burning inside you, he realized that his feeling was reciprocated. He was quite satisfied.

"I'll do it especially for you. Wait for it."

He turned around ready to fulfill his promise, but not before winking at you. He blushed in embarrassment at his action, hell, he was terrible at flirting; but he would make an effort to try. On the other hand, you were being shaken back and forth by Geir, you stopped reacting for a moment.

Heracles

As Odin's daughter you knew very little about the Greek gods, in fact, the only ones you had ever heard of were Zeus and Poseidon. You could say you were completely ignorant of them, so you had no idea who the young red-haired man was whom both gods and humans praised. You looked at him curiously, analyzing the tattoos that covered his body, it wasn't long before you were caught by Loki.

"Lustful woman, stop devouring him with your eyes."

You hit him in the arm, your brother was reckless. You didn't know that boy, it's clear that your gaze would be on him. When you paid attention, that demigod was already watching you. You waved at him trying to avoid a nervous breakdown. It was all Loki's fault.

"I'm going to kill you." You whispered to your brother, before looking at him out of the corner of your eye.

"What a thrill! He's coming this way."

Your blood ran cold, that muscular exhibitionist was already in front of you when Loki disappeared. He introduced himself so politely that you wondered if he hadn't heard anything. You conversed with him animatedly, you found him charming and overly friendly; you enjoyed the time you shared together as much as he did.

"Good luck in your confrontation, Heracles!"

It was his turn to represent the gods in the next confrontation. He waved goodbye as he walked further and further away. But not before exclaiming that which made your face burn.

"You can continue to devour me with your eyes when I return!"

Jack the ripper

You knew Jack was a murderer, but inside you were aware that what was happening was not the right thing to do. He fought for humanity, he gave them a victory, and what does he get in return? Nothing but hate. You saw him hurt, abandoned by his valkyrie and humiliated by those he defended. Your body moved on its own as you descended to the arena, you heard the voices of the other gods trying to stop you, but you ignored them knowing that you would have to explain yourself to Zeus. You took Jack's arm and placed it over your shoulder. The attack ceased, the entire arena go silent.

"You'll be fine, human." You murmured, securing your arm around his waist. "No matter who you were in the past, you don't deserve this."

When Jack first looked at you he marveled at your colors; as the goddess of peace, forgiveness and light, you had the purest and most sincere feelings. Not even Heracles had ever made him feel such warmth.

You stopped in front of the stretcher on which you placed the human, you looked strangely at the man who did not take his eyes off you; he was watching you as if you were the finest work of art. Your heart shrank when you noticed the darkness that stained his light, apparently he never knew peace. You startled when he granted himself the audacity to take your hand, he held it between both of his, so desperately that it made you blush without even realizing it, the feeling in your chest was unusual. You did not pull him away.

"Madame, my goddess, your soul is the most beautiful I have ever seen. Could you tell me in honest words if I have any chance of stay by your side forever?"

Shiva

As the eldest daughter of Odin everyone had high expectations of you, your appearance, your personality and your power. You were too tense and overwhelmed, you could feel all those stupid Greek gods judging you with their eyes; you cursed the Valkyrie who proposed Ragnarok.

"I'll go for a walk over there, I'm tired of watching Thor playing with that human."

Your father nodded without much interest, he trusted your power; you were his pride. He knew you would be fine on your own. You walked through the corridors with your face in your hands, you were tired, you didn't care if humankind lived or was eliminated, you just wanted to return to your duties, that was all you cared about. You entered a room where you could see drinks and some snacks, you poured the sweet liquid from one of the multiple pitchers on one of the pure gold glasses, you drank it thoroughly.

"Wow! You really can drink!"

You turned as you heard a male voice, you were not at all disappointed with what you encountered. That purple-skinned man was attractive, much more so than any other man you had seen before.

"Damn, is this alcohol?" You examined the contents of the decanter. "But it's so sweet."

With one of his hands he removed the object from yours hands and drank it unceremoniously. You watched with undisguised attention as the liquid slid down his well-defined torso, a product of the circular edges of the container.

"Yes, it was."

"I can't stand alcohol." You confessed. "I should go."

He grabbed you by the wrist. He wasn't going to admit it, but you fascinated him as soon as he watched you walking alone in the halls, and now that he had found the opportunity to be alone with you he wasn't going to let you go.

"Why the rush? Drink with me some more."

You were skeptical, you knew that pretending you weren't interested in him was the right thing to do but you couldn't say no to a face as charming as that. You accepted, and drank until everything was spinning, he watched you in wonder all the time.

"Did you know I have three wives?"  He laughed, holding your body firmly, pulling you discreetly closer to him. "But it could be four."

Raiden Tameemon

You were a big Valkyrie, huge indeed, and that made you proud because you could easily defend all your sisters. You were convinced that if you found someone who loved you as you are, you would stay by his side forever. But, you never imagined that the man who would fall for you would be the same man with whom you should unite your soul to form one being. Raiden marveled as soon as he saw you and did not hesitate to let you know.

"You are the greatest woman I have ever known." You snorted in annoyance, you were in no mood to hear another derogatory comment regarding your size.

"If you're just going to make fun you'd better shut your mouth."

"I really like you... maybe too much."

You swallowed all your words. You were surprised, no, shocked; you couldn't believe the ease with which that man was able to confess something like that, even when your heart jumped with emotion, you refused to accept it.

"You must be joking, human. Just stop playing games and let's get to the arena at once."

He held you in his arms, completely ignoring your complaints. You were truly all he had ever wanted, and now that he had you in front of him, he wasn't planning on letting you go. He looked up to see you and smiled at you with a sincerity that overwhelmed you. Damn, it had better not be a bad joke.

"It's the truth, I've always been looking for a woman like you."

Zerofuku

You were a human living in misery, your family was too poor. People say that having nothing makes you value things more, but it is a lie, you desired with all your heart the money that people squandered, everything you owned was simple trash, how could you be proud and value that? You cried every night asking the gods to end your life once and for all, you could not continue to watch your siblings die of hunger. You had no one, the man who should have been your father abandoned you years ago and your mother died of an illness when she couldn't pay for her medicine, she took two of your younger siblings with her. Now you had two others in your care.

You walked the streets without having eaten for days, you were weak and malnourished, your eyesight was blurred; eventually you would die, you were sure of it and you were grateful for it. Your siblings could fend for themselves, you deserved to rest, your stupid sixteen years had been enough to know that life was not worth living. Then, your strength returned, your bitter feelings vanished, your pockets were full of money. You looked with tears at the god who had given you another chance.

"Death is not the solution, I assure you that living can be beautiful."

You wiped your eyes, that god was small and hurt, but the smile on his face did not fade. He reminded you of your mother, who even almost dead assured you that everything would be all right. You threw yourself on him, hugging him tightly, sobbing on his shoulder.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, benevolent God."

His hands trembled before he reciprocated your action. The pain he felt was finally worth it, he knew that being good to humans was not a mistake. He may not have fulfilled your wish, but you gave him what he had always longed for with all his might.

"No one had ever thanked me before."

His grip tightened around you, you felt wetness on your shoulder; then you realized that even gods can cry.

Hajun

ZeroFuku had been your close friend, you could not explain how he suddenly disappeared without warning. But, as you watched Buddha's fight against the seven gods of fortune, you understood everything. You despised yourself for not being able to notice his pain. You did not care what Zeus could do, you jumped into the arena of Ragnarok with the intention of saving ZeroFuku. You hit Buddha in the back, knocking him to his knees, took advantage of the distraction and ran towards Zerofuku. However, it was already too late. No matter how much you clung to your friend's old body, the transformation happened.

Zerofuku was gone forever, and in his place a huge stranger pulled you away. You stepped back unable to do more than stare at him in terror. What happened?

"Where is Zerofuku?"

His raspy and deep laugh made your skin crawl, you were in danger, you could feel it clearly.

"Stupid goddess, stop crying for that weakling who did nothing but been pity in the arena. From this moment on, Hajun will show you what strength really means."

Buddha

You were not a goddess, nor a human; but something in between. You were a human who managed to become a divine being, as Buddha and Heracles. Maybe that was the reason why you have such a good relationship with Heracles.

"I told you that Buddha isn't the rude boy that you think he is".

He always defended him, and you don't fully understand the reason why.

"He calls himself as "the strongest teenager", that's really cringe." You say obvious. "Besides, he only eats candy, he must have hundred of cavities."

"Well, that's true, he does. But, so what? Doesn't it makes him very unique?" You frowned, tilting your head slightly as the redhead continued speaking. "I think you shouldn't judge him without knowing his reasons, why don't you give yourself a chance to have a conversation with him?"

It was the thirteenth time that he told you the same thing, and, truly, you couldn't understand why he was so interested in changing your opinion about Buddha. But, what you did not know is that Buddha had personally asked Heracles to question you regarding what you thought about him, but the Greek demigod did not believe himself capable of repeating the words you had pronounced, he was determined to show you the true being of his friend.

"Actually, I think you two would get along very well, you are both demigods." He raised his ring finger, thinking he had hit the target. "There are only three of our kind, we should support each other, right?"

"Hey," you hit his shoulder, "don't manipulate me with that. If you are so interested in Buddha and me being close, then tell him that he should be the one to make the first move. Nothing assures me that I will not receive contempt from him if I am the first to approach."

Heracles was about to protest against it, but the slight pressure on his shoulder forced him to step back. Another presence hastened to settle in front of you; it was him. Buddha was looking at you in the sneering way you always hated, and he had another stupid lollipop between his lips.

"You're right." He uttered, his fangs protruding from his lips. You had never observed it so closely. He stretched out his hand towards you. "Let's be friends," you hesitantly shook his hand, without knowing that it was a trap, he pulled you until you felt your anatomy against his, "or something more than friends." You blushed, you should've known it was a stupid joke. You pushed him, he laughed with amusement, while Heracles shook his head from a distance. He had started very well. "Or so I would have liked to say it before, I'm sorry that this may be our last time together."

You knew perfectly well that he was the next competitor from the gods, but you were not willing to cheer him on during their confrontation knowing that he was dooming humanity; in fact, you hadn't supported any god since the start of Ragnarok.

"I knew you were an idiot, but I never thought you would fight the humans you claim to love so much."

He frowned slightly hurt, hearing you say that didn't make him feel any better. He has liked you for a long time, the first thing he thought when he saw you was that you had a nice smile; he felt like a jerk for not trying to get close to you when he could. He shrugged before making the statement that made you surprised.

"I will fight for the humankind of which you and I one day were a part."

"Are you crazy? Zeus won't sit idly by!"

He moved closer to you once more, stroked your hair gently, then passed his hand over your face. Your skin crawled, and you moved away by mere instinct.

"Then I'll kill him."

"You are insane." You declared. "But you have my support, you better not die; we can still be friends."

Due to the proximity you could not foresee it. He took the lollipop out of his mouth and introduced it to yours, you were stunned to feel the sweet taste on your tongue. That was a fucking indirect kiss.

"We can also be more than friends."

Then you saw him walk away, he smiled at you one last time before his muscular back was the last thing you saw from him. You had no choice but to consider his haughty proposal while the candy melted in your mouth.

Hades

You watched the Ragnarok in the distance, you were tired of the claims of the stupid sons of Zeus; especially Ares, that coward couldn't be the god of war. You placed your head against the pillar next to you, you kept your arms crossed slightly at the height of your waist; a current of cold air made your skin freeze, a voice behind you warned you of the presence that had been watching you for two fights ago.

"I never thought that a deity would be able to ignore my presence for so long."

You looked over your shoulder as that silver-haired man perched next to you, as if he were the company you most desired in the entire universe. You had heard about him, Hades was not someone you wanted to be alone with.

"Who would have thought that the god of the underworld would consider a Norse goddess worthy of having a conversation with him."

"You are not worthy," he declared, you smiled unconsciously, the Greek gods sickened you, "but you are fascinating."

He took you by the chin and turned you, looked at your face with a flame in his gaze, you pushed him away, your back hitting the pillar behind you; Hades took advantage and cornered you against him. You were too close.

"Stay away, freak." He ignored your order and took you by the waist as if you were his. "Don't think of me as a weak woman, I am not an object that you can have at your mercy."

"Of course you're not an object, that wouldn't get my attention like you do now."

Your hand moved by itself, you hit him in the face; you watched him bleed. Then he smiled at you with pleasure, he was so elegant that his previous action seemed inconceivable to you. What you didn't know is that Hades had been observant you for a few hundred years, every action, every word, and even every breath of yours seemed charming to him; this was the ideal occasion to make a move with you.

"Avenging my brother is my priority for now." He walked away, never taking his gaze from you, his new prey. "I'll look for you when the fight is over."

Qin Shin Huang

You heard for the fourth time how Ares swore to destroy humankind, so you decided that it would be best to stop paying attention to him. Hermes was standing by your side, he also looked irritated; not only because of his brother's actions, but because of Buddha's betrayal and his crushing victory.

"A tie is what this ridiculous event needed. I finally feel a spark of excitement inside of me!" You exclaimed with a huge smile that almost completely adorned your face, you watched how they finished preparing the arena for the next fight, your body couldn't stop trembling from adrenaline. Ares looked at you incredulously, how could his little sister think like that in such an important event?

"You're just like Hermes, I don't understand you at all."

Then a wall collapsed, all of you were startled and looked in the same direction, noticing how from the rubble and dust a beautiful and attractive man made his triumphant appearance. He dressed just like royalty might, the elegant demeanor of him captivated you.

"Who is that?" Not even Hermes was aware of what was happening, Ares stood up to try to face him. "He must be missing."

However, none of the three stopped him. He took a seat next to you, right where your brother Ares resided. You were pleased with his bravery... or stupidity.

"You are brave, human."

You knew right away, only a human could do something like that without fearing death, he was surrounded by gods and he didn't seem to care at all.He "looked" at you through his blindfold, his smile didn't take long to appear. You reciprocated quite interested.

"I've been told this before, goddess." The way he uttered that made you shudder. "After all, a king should be able to face even death itself without showing an ounce of fear."

Your brothers looked at each other, confused by the strange atmosphere between the two of you. Shouldn't you two be killing each other? Instead both of you seemed to be flirting.

"You're not interested in the daughter of Zeus, are you, stupid human?"

You looked at Ares with contempt, Qin put his hand in front of your face to stop you. He beat your older brother without any problem, then he returned to take a seat next to you, even closer than before; his attention was totally yours, he extended his arm behind your shoulders. You were delighted with his audacity, that was the emotion you were looking for.

"Every king needs a queen by his side. Would you be interested in being mine?"

Notes:

As you can see, I really love Buddha so much.
