Summary
Regulus knows, realistically, that he doesn't have long until his brother makes a run for it. If he's only got so long to live like a normal person, he's going to enjoy the time he's got.
'Enjoying the time he's got' goes something like this:
Lily Evans is smart and beautiful. If nobody else is going to make a move on her, Regulus will gladly fill the position. Equally, James Potter is charming and gorgeous. If nobody else is going to make a move on him, Regulus will gladly fill the position.
or: regulus makes friends with gryffindors, makes out with gryffindors, and ends up dating one of them. and also accidentally fixes his relationship with his brother, he thinks.
