Bad Time For A Live Stream

Summary:

Tucker was new to streaming but was doing pretty well for himself. Then he got interrupted.

Notes:

Written for Side Hoes Week day 1 and I used a prompt from the danphanwritingprompts tumblr!

Prompt: For extra money, Tucker starts streaming himself playing Doom. The problem is, streams don’t stop when a bloody, injured Phantom comes crashing into his bedroom begging for help.

Work Text:

“What’s up Gamers! FryerTuck here welcoming you to another round of Doomed!” Tucker greeted his webcam and a handful of viewers. “Today I’m going to try to find the rumored loot on level 15.”

He started streaming recently for a couple of reasons, one, it was a fun excuse to get better at the game, and two, you could get paid.

It was mostly reason number two.

It did take him a bit to get any traction, aka any viewers at all and then a little longer for anyone to start paying, but he was really getting into the groove of it now.

He even had a couple of fans and a dedicated mod for the chat.

It felt like he had something that was his. A special little thing just for him.

It was nice.

Tucker was in the zone. He was making great progress in the game and keeping up with the chat. Everything was perfect.

So, of course, that's when something, correction, someone , crashed through his bedroom window.

Tucker nearly jumped out of his seat at the noise only to actually scramble out of it when he saw who it was.

Danny, in his ghost form, was a heap on the floor, struggling to get up and bleeding ectoplasm everywhere.

Tucker tossed his headphones off and ran to Danny's aid, "oh my god dude, what happened?"

Danny looked up at him and somehow that made it worse. "It’s not healing."

Yeah, that was bad .

"Okay, um, we really need to get you away from this glass. Can you walk?"

Danny tried to get up but failed. The audible splat when he landed didn’t help.

Tucker closed his eyes and took a breath, now was not a time to be squeamish.

"Can you float?"

"Nothing's working." Danny pushed himself back up to his knees shaking the whole time before locking eyes with him again, "it hurts ."

"It’s gonna be okay. I'm gonna help you up and let's try and get you to the bathroom, ready?"

"Okay."

Tucker felt his heart break hearing Danny be in pain like this.

Usually, ghost fights don't hurt him. Or at least they don't seem to anyway. Whatever this is, it's bad.

Tucker carefully helped Danny upright and it was clear he couldn't stand on his own. Luckily, picking up Danny is not hard and it's even easier in his ghost mode.

"You know what, I'm just gonna carry you."

Danny just whined in response as he nuzzled into Tucker’s shoulder.

With Danny now in Tucker’s arms bridal style, he now realized he had a new problem. He wasn’t going to be able to open his door.

"Crap. Okay um, new plan. You go here." Tucker placed Danny on his bed and tried not to think about the mess his sheets were going to become, "and I'll be right back with the first aid kit."

He hated that Sam was right. He really needed one in his room.

After a quick pit stop to the bathroom to grab supplies and wash his hands, he was back in his room. The door now locked.

He felt like he was forgetting something, but couldn’t for the life of him figure out what it was.

Then he saw his computer.
