“That new one scares me.”
“New one?”
“Relatively new. The Dreemurr child. The human.”
“Ah, yes… Kris, was it?”
“Yes. The Dreemurrs really have fallen far, haven’t they?”
“I’d say so. Attempting to coexist with humans is one thing, but calling one part of your family?”
“Disgusting. Not only that, dangerous. It is unwise to keep a human in our territory. It is like allowing a wolf to sleep inside a chicken coop.”
“Indeed… but why bring it up?”
“We should eliminate the threat.”
“Eliminate!? The human is but a child!”
“A child who may grow to be our undoing. Do you not remember the 201X event?”
“…well, you may be correct about that… but how would we go about this? The Dreemurrs know us far better than either of us are comfortable with. They will be on the lookout for us.”
“Hm… they may not know all of us. What about your son?”
“My… son?”
“Yes, your son. He’s never visited them, has he? Hometown is on the other side of the territory, and I don’t believe he’s ever left our district.”
“But-”
“And he looks like them. He may be able to gain the human’s trust quickly.”
“I’ll… I’ll need you to clarify what exactly you’re asking…”
“So be it. Listen well. Our survival may hinge on his success. He is the future of all monsters.”
