SCP-536 (Professional Version)

Summary:

What if the Hermits were SCPs? What if the foundation was writing reports on them? What if I spent far too long researching how SCP reports work just to write these profiles?

This is the 'professional' version, complete with blacked-out and redacted words, numbers instead of names for the hermits, etc. The other version is called the 'comprehensible' version.

Chapter Text

Item #: SCP-536

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-536 is to be kept in a 3-story, 30-apartment building, each apartment containing three rooms consisting of a small entry way, a small bedroom, and a large workroom. The entry way is to be outfitted with inexpensive wooden floors and inexpensive walling and furnished with a mannequin sturdy enough to hold 20kg (55lb) plate mail, a mounted coat hook sturdy enough to hold several items of up to 2kg (4.5 lbs), and a stoneware flowerpot full of potting soil though containing no plants. The bedroom is to be outfitted with inexpensive wooden floors and inexpensive walling and furnished with a Twin size bed, including mattress, sheets, and comforter. The workroom is to be outfitted with concrete floors and walls, iron counters on both far walls, in-ceiling LED workshop lighting, and several hidden cameras.

Each instance of SCP-536 is to be assigned an apartment at their digression, and their designation is to be marked on the door and noted in the files.

Instances of SCP-536 are permitted to freely wander the facility and eat in the main canteen. Tracking devices have been attached to each instance of SCP-536 and are not to be removed.

SCP-536 is not to be exposed to any of the following animals: Wolf, dog, ocelot, house cat, horse, donkey, mule, llama, fox, macaw, cockatiel.

The apartment building is to be outfitted with a small but functional stable, kennel, and aviary. Instances of SCP-536-b are to be contained to the apartment building and attached facilities and are to be affixed with tracking devices.

Additional Note: Additional Containment Procedures may apply to individual instances of SCP-536.

Description: SCP-536 is a group of 28 individuals discovered and retrieved on April 27, 2012, from Sofia, Bulgaria. Each instance of SCP-536 is unique, though they share a great deal of common and anomalous characteristics.

All instances of SCP-536 have the ability to manifest a variety of 1cm (0.4 in) cubes and other similarly scaled items seemingly from nowhere. These items, hereby referred to as ‘blocks’, can be placed by SCP-536 on any surface in an even grid. Aside from a few notable exceptions, the blocks are not affected by gravity. Even when affected by gravity, the blocks maintain their three-dimensional shape unless disturbed by physical contact by a non-anomalous sentient creature. The blocks appear otherwise identical to the material they are imitating, down to the chemical and cellular makeup. The blocks affected by gravity include a mixture of calcium, silicon, aluminum, iron and other ingredients that makes up a generic cement powder in sixteen (16) separate colors, gravel consisting of various sizes and varieties of stone, and loose silicon dioxide or silicon dioxide and iron oxide sand that would be expected in a desert. Several of the blocks SCP-536 can produce do not appear to have a non-anomalous origin or cannot be replicated by any means of science in existence.

SCP-536 is injured by all normal means, but it evidently feels no pain and the wounds immediately seal up once inflicted, though SCP-536 is required to eat to maintain this process. Once sufficient damage has been dealt to SCP-536, its body disappears and re-appears, entirely unharmed, at the last place that instance slept. It appears that SCP-536 cannot sleep anywhere but in a bed, though different instances have different interpretations of what constitutes a bed.

SCP-536 can summon a variety of full-sized weapons and armor. The items have been observed to be made of iron, gold, solid diamond, and an unknown material referred to as ‘netherite’. Items observed include axes for both war and more mundane uses, swords, chest plate, armored boots, and various styles of helmet. Some items appear to be infused with a shimmering indigo light.

When exposed to any wolf, dog, ocelot, house cat, horse, donkey, mule, llama, fox, macaw, or cockatiel, SCP-536 can transform them into an instance of SCP-536-b. Instances of SCP-536-b gain the same healing abilities as SCP-536, though other changes vary based on species. Instances of SCP-536-b that were initially wolves, dogs, ocelots, or house cats will gain a generic nylon pet collar that has no latch, buckle, or tie, and is impervious to any sort of damage.

Addendum 536-001: The material referred to as ‘netherite’ has been determined to be made up of 50% 24-karat gold.

Addendum 536-002: The block referred to as a ‘beacon’ has been determined to be made up of obsidian, glass, and the organic item referred to as a ‘nether star’ that produces approximately 1.2 volts of electrical energy.

Addendum 536-003: The block referred to as ‘prismarine’ appears to be chemically Be3Al2(Si16O18), colloquially known as aquamarine. There is no apparent non-anomalous explanation for the shift in color.

Addendum 536-004: Each instance of SCP-536 has a requested name they prefer. Agents are permitted to refer to them by their name when interacting directly with them. All agents must use the appropriate number when not speaking face-to-face with SCP-536.
