It’s Saturday in the morning and the sunrise lighten around Odaiba, indicating a good weather. The bright ray of sunlight lit up at a dormitory building and passed through the windows and illuminating one of the room where Emma Verde reside. Her phone’s alarm goes off and Emma wakes up in her sleep. She reached her phone and tapped on a screen causing the alarm to stopped. She opened her eyes, then stood up from her bed, and moans a bit as she stretched her arms upward.
Emma: Ahh… that feels good! Oh…
She paused a bit for a moment and recalling she had to do for this weekend: she wants to bring some stuffs from her favorite bakery shop before tacking on another examination.
A few moments later, Emma left her dormitory and walks around the campus and heading to the bakery. At the crossing, she saw a familiar figure across the street, sporting a short grey hair with a crescent hairpin and donning her usual yellow outfit. It was Kasumi Nakasu and Emma was ready to call out her name, however she just stood there and seemingly looking down with a poignant face. Nevertheless, Emma walks in upon signalling of pedestrian green sign.
Emma wasn’t sure why Kasumi was like that, but she spook her with surprise.
Emma: Kasumi!!
Kasumi shooked, looked up her head and turned her back to reveal Emma was just behind her back.
Kasumi: E-EMMA?!
Emma calmly closed her eyes and smiled at her before she politely ask her.
Emma: What’s with that looks?
Kasumi nod, then looked aside in disappointment, and replied with a grunt voice.
Kasumi: I humbly asked Shizuku some help for our upcoming exam, but she’s busy with her drama club again even on this weekend…
Emma was feeling sympathize for poor Kasumi, but then she smiled a bit and raised her right hand to rub Kasumi’s hair.
Emma: There, there.
Kasumi:…
Kasumi’s mood changed from being upset while Emma still holding her head. Emma remembered she’s heading to the bakery so she asked her an offer.
Emma: By the way Kasumi, since I’m heading to the bakery and you love breads too, I can share some breads for you!
Kasumi paused a bit and looked up at Emma with her eyes wide open. She didn’t let Emma’s hand to get off of her head and instead she smiled like a young child enough that sparkles can be seen emitting around the two.
The two walks aside while chattering randomly as they walk towards the front store of the bakery shop. Inside the shop, they picked many kinds of bread like a croissant, a baguette, melon pan, and tons of the famous assorted kopeppan. With enough breads they bought, they carried with two baskets and Emma handed both of it.
Shortly after shopping from bakery, Emma and Kasumi took a short break at the nearest part and sat together on a small bench facing the iconic Odaiba’s Rainbow Bridge. They can be seen they’re feeling exhausted from standing and walking for hours.
Emma and Kasumi: Haa… haaa…
Emma: Are you alright, Kasumi?
Kasumi: Yeah, I’m fine Emma, you see? (Although her legs are visibly shaking itself…)
Emma smiled a bit while looking at Kasumi.
Emma: Alright then, let’s have a break with our bread before we walk again shall we?
Kasumi: Suuure!! I want some too, especially my favorite koppepan!
Emma grabbed a basket from her side and placed onto her lap. She then grabbed a koppepan out of the basket and handed it to Kasumi which caused her an excitement.
Kasumi: Thank you so much!!
She grabbed the bread and holds with both hands and then looks at Emma while waiting for her turn to grab hers. She took a melon pan out of all the breads from the basket. Kasumi was surprised.
Kasumi: Melon pan?
Emma: Yup! Well, to be honest, I haven’t tried this one ever since I watched one of the old show where the titular character always eats melon pan and I want this one so bad.
Kasumi: Oh, I see. Well then, let’s bite together!
Emma: Okay!
Emma and Kasumi handed their breads and prepared a brief prayer before biting together.
Emma and Kasumi: Thank you for the meal!
Together they closed their eyes and bite each of their bread from the tip and gave a nice expressions at the same time.
Emma: Buono!
Kasumi: So sweet!
They looked at each other’s face and paused a brief moment before chuckling together.
After a few minutes of break and both continued walking back to the place and carrying their baskets to bring at their home, Emma was hesitating something that she can’t understand why. Kasumi was seemingly suspicious of her.
Kasumi: Emma?
Emma: Yes?
Kasumi: What is it? Is there some problem or something?
Emma: Uhmm, nothing. You don’t have to worry about this.
Emma’s left hand and fingers begins to twitching like she was eagerly to grabbed something. Kasumi then saw her left hand twitching but she doesn’t even know why.
They entered a block with tunnel-like pathway under a huge commercial building leading to the exact spot where they met. Sure it was indeed a peaceful and quiet path due to the place not being so crowded and rarely few vehicles are passing along the road. Emma and Kasumi are the only person in that place, however one could clearly hear someone’s heart is pounding so loud and its echoing around the spot.
Emma is sweating visibly due to its place with less air. Her heart is thumping loudly as they get near the center of the path.
Emma:…
Unable to express some feelings, Emma’s left hand touched Kasumi’s right hand as if she wants to grab her hand.
Kasumi:!!
Kasumi was shocked, followed by her face is visibly blushing upon touching her hand. Her heart also began pounding too enough that their hearts can be heard thumping together
Emma: I want, something…
Kasumi: Something, what? (She was seemingly furious what’s up with her)
Emma’s left hand began communicating Kasumi’s right hand like she’s requesting to hold their hands together. The two are visibly blushing and sweating, along with their hearts pounding together like a common romantic scene.
Emma: A favor…
Emma finally grabbed Kasumi’s hand. Kasumi couldn’t help herself but to tightly lock her hand on Emma’s in response and continued walking. The entire scene felt like straight out of a romance film. Then Emma began confessing her feelings to Kasumi in her soft voice.
Emma: I really don’t know what’s with this feels, but I’m slowly attaching to you..
Kasumi: Well, I have a same feelings to you too since we become frie… Mmm!!
The exact moment before Kasumi finished talking, she could only see Emma’s pretty eyes at point blank and felt something on her lips. Emma kissed Kasumi. Although it was only a soft kiss when her lip only tipped on another lip. The world around them felt like it completely stopped and filled with blooms all over the place. They were standing on the exact spot where they met earlier. Thankfully there were nobody around to witness a romance.
Emma pushed herself against Kasumi as she pulled away from her face. Kasumi just looked at Emma while her right hand is slowly reaching on her face.
Kasumi: What… just happen…
Emma gave a last message before parting way at the crossing
Emma: Take care, Kasumi.
As Emma bid farewell to Kasumi, she just stood there staring at her while carrying a basket and the other hand still holding near her lips.
