Determination and Passion

Summary:

She cleared her throat the best she could. Maybe she'd update him on what's going on. Before she was able to leave. "Bakago..." She started again.

This time she reached down and wrapped her hand around his. Careful to leave her pinky thumb up and circled pattern on his hand. Even if he couldn't necessarily feel it, maybe subconsciously this would give him some comfort. It was weird holding his hand. They were so big and rough compared to her hands, not counting the paw like pads on the tips of her fingers.  She hadn't payed attention before but his arm looked thinner even. He must have lost weight considering he's been here for a few days at least. Unconscious and with his face wrapped.

"You must be hungry..." She wondered out loud. "I would have brought you something spicy if I would have known you'd be in the same room as me." She said cheekily. Knowing good and well she wasn't planning on ending up in the hospital.

Notes:

Spoilers ahead!!! Now i haven't actually caught up but there are major spoilers in this up to the latest chapter!!! (also my first kacchako fic!)

Chapter Text

    "-raka!....ake up , please!"

Uraraka's world was spinning, what had happened? Iida? Toga...? What was this blinding light....? This numbing feelings...... she just wanted to sleep...

.

Uraraka woke with a start. That blinding white light clouded her vision, she could no longer see the dark clouds and white sky... not this, this was a ceiling. The faint buzzing sounds she started picking up on said she was more than likely in the hospital.

Wait- why was she in the hospital? Toga! She had just reached her- reasoned with her even, to the point that the blood lusting girl had sank to her knees in long needed sobs and tears.

The battle had just started to change, Toga had finally seemed less lethal... more cooperative to what Uraraka had try to explain to her. Explain what love really was... Deku. She wondered how he was doing.

SHIT HE WAS FACING ALL FOR ONE RIGHT ABOUT NOW!

Uraraka quickly sat up, a very unpleasant sensation and stabbing pain hit her in the head. Gods, it felt like she had been hit by a train. A wave of dizziness washed over her- and panic, there was a war going on! She needed to get up, no matter the pain, what would happen to her friends, the civilians that were around if the war spread any farther, oh gods she needed help, she needed to move-

        Bakugo...

Uraraka's heart stopped at the sight of her classmate. She had briefly heard about what had happened to him. But she didn't think it was this bad.

If it wasn't for his eye catching spiky hair and the boots that sat next to his bed, she wouldn't have noticed him with his face and practically most of his body wrapped up, save for one arm and his legs. She felt tears rise to her eyes, her heart clenched in sympathy for the loud explosion quirk holder.

"Oh Uraraka! You're awake, thank heavens! How are you feeling? Is your head feeli..." The nurse coddled, gently encouraging the girl to lay back down, yet she couldn't take her eyes off his lifeless body. Was he breathing? Would he be ok? What exactly happened that he's in this state.

"...raka sweetheart, don't cry. He's stable. Don't worry about him, you need to focus on your recovery, you took a nasty blow to the back of your head- stop trying to get up... he heroes need you to recover as soon as possible so you can get back out the..."

Before she knew it, she was being pushed over next to his bed, she could even see the stitches along his hairline now.

"Now lay down will you. Seriously, we've got to get blood back into your system, you've lost too much, be cooperative now will ya'?" The nurse then mumbled something she didn't quite pick up on, but it would register later.

"Bakugo?" She whispered hoarsely. Staring at him, first his chest to confirm the rise and fall of his chest, he was breathing, Thank the gods! And then settled for his just about fully wrapped face. Flashes of Deku crossed her mind, wondering how angry he must have felt when he heard about Bakugo's condition. Was Deku there when it had happened? She knew they had just started getting over this rivalry enemy thing... but she could tell they still had a ways to go. Their relationship had always been an interesting one to her.

With how hot-headed and short tempered Bakugo was to Deku's kind and calculating self. She had definitely picked up on the many ways they were alike too. They were both fiercely determined. Both strived towards being number one. Both major Allmight fanboys, though Bakugo wasn't nearly as noticeable. She wondered when he would ever wake , she could see the respect he had for him and the attention he craved from the retired number one hero. Both cared about their friends... well one didn't prefer to show it, but she could see through Bakugo's façade. They had both stepped in and saved her a few times too...

She sighed deeply and turned away from him. Staring up at the ceiling again. She wondered when he would wake up. It would be pretty ironically funny if it had been while she was here. Fate would have it that it would be someone he cared about , like Kirishima, or his parents. Well sometimes fate was funny and did the opposite. But she would hope he got to wake up to a face he would want to see, not her laying next to him with her head presumably wrapped as well, based on the uncomfortable tightness and heavy feeling she seemed to be more aware of now.

She glanced back over at him. His unwrapped arm next to hers, IV sticking in the open crook of his elbow, hand lay out perfectly in reach. When was the last time someone came and checked on him. Spoke to him while he was in the unfortunate coma... well more fortunate than being... yeah.

I know you probably. No I doubt you hear me at all but, I don't really know what to say. We've never actually had a real meaningful conversation to be honest, like, not one where we just sat and chatted like friends would you know? It's hard seeing you like this, so get better please... The war is still going on. I know what you'd say, 'oi! stop fucking around...' or something like that... But I think I got through to her, Toga. I slightly remember her helping us after someone had taken me away. I talked to her about love. You would probably find that weird... or like an obstacle, right? You want to be number one after all. And i don't think you are focused on romance or anything right now anyways. Unless maybe you're secretly in love with Deku- or Kirishima! Ooo or maybe even one of the girls, Momo is really hot, and Mina is so cute and she is friends with you... " She giggled at the thought,  "Anyways I don't think she had a proper understanding of what it was. To be honest, I don't know that I know, well I know the love that I feel from my friends and mama and daddy is, but in love?"

I thought... maybe I was in love with Deku. But I'm not sure. He's great, yeah... He really is. But so are all of you guys. And... he left. to protect us I know. But I definitely think it opened my eyes. There are things All Might didn't have as the number one hero. A family. Privacy. Always being a target... I don't know if Deku will have time for anyone in his life anyways. I see his drive. How much he wants to protect everyone. It would be pretty hard picking between one person and a whole city huh? Maybe that's why you never focused on those things right? You saw it. You did strive to be number one... maybe that's why your so hot headed. You don't want to be close to someone." She sighed. She never had really thought about it like that. But it made since now that she put those too together.

"Well. I hope you know that you can we friends with me. I can handle myself you know. All of us can... so when you wake up you better stop pushing us away. I know they're all worried sick about you... especially Kirishima. You should- no. I'm glad you didn't see him like that. But I'd be surprised I he didn't kiss you once you woke up... bromance and all that.

...I haven't really thought about it ya' know? With the war and everything going on. But I miss how it was before. All of us, as a class. And your cooking! God you can cook.... It was nice. Felt like a big family... I miss that. I... miss you..."

Uraraka gasped, feeling a slight feather like squeeze to her hand. Was is Bakago!? "Bakugo?" She asked anxiously.

Beep Beep Beep... Uraraka glanced up her IV pole, noticing the bag of blood was pretty much emptied out. Funny she hadn't noticed it before. She guessed maybe she hadn't actually felt his hand move either. Maybe she had just imagined it.

The nurse then walked in, pushing whatever button she needed to to make the beeping stop. The nurse then gave an encouraging smile at her, "You should be good to get back out there, if you want to of course. I know you're just a kid but I saw you during the sports festival... and you saved my kid and all those other people when most had given up. So I know how determined you can be. But it's up to you. Your head should be feeling better, my quirk is a strong one but it takes time and my blood, so you should be healed up now. I'm sure your boyfriend will be awake before you get back, I'll take care of him in the meantime." the nurse winked.

Ochako was about to protest, but her curiosity got the best of her. "Who are you?"

The nurse then smiled knowingly, "I was a bad person before... but you showed me that not all heroes are the same snot nosed glory brats when you refused to give up. Just like that Deku and this Bakugo... well Bakugo could behave a lot differently, but I know his heart is good. I can see it in his blood. Ya'll have the same determination and passion running through your blood, ya'll are very compatible to say the least."

This time she did, "Er we're not-"

"Oh I know, not yet anyways." The nurse smiled knowingly before a challenging glint hit her auburn eyes. "You goin back out there or what?"

        Uraraka nodded firmly. "Yes."

Notes:
