Honoka let out a sigh as she looked out over the beach and sea, taking in all the fresh air, cheers of delight, splashing waves and birds squawking.
her parents owning a summer resort wasn't the worst thing possible, but having to waste every single summer helping her parents run this place drained her. Yes it was a pretty popular place and pretty nice, Honoka was just tired of the beach, why couldn't they travel for the summer!?
"Cheer up Honoka-Chan!"
She heard a familiar voice; it was none other than her gray-haired childhood friend Kotori. Thankfully Kotori wanted to help Honoka in this painful yearly endeavor, but it did hurt Honoka knowing she gave up a trip to France to be with her.
"Kotoriiii~chan... I can't do it for another year!"
As Honoka turned around to face her childhood friend, she saw her in their resort uniform with a grin on her face.
"Hehe come on, if you keep up that attitude than you'll waste your summer."
"It's already a waste since we're stuck here,, I'm sorry you couldn't visit France."
"Don't worry about it! I just wanted to spend the summer with you and Hanayo-Chan!"
Hanayo Koizumi, Honoka's other friend who sacrificed her summer to stay her with Honoka. Now how was she supposed to enjoy herself with all this guilt piled up!??
"Honoka-Chan your mom is going to get mad if we're any later,, it's pretty busy out there."
"Ah! Y-You're right!!"
Kotori let out a small giggle marveling how Honoka was able to forget such a thing, but Honoka only sighed as she got ready to aid old people, hard to deal with teens and families asking for rooms with no booking.
"Finally... everyone's situated in their rooms!.."
Honoka exclaimed practically falling to the floor, but even more so exhausted was Hanayo.
"N-No I'm sorry... there is no b-b-booking with that name...."
Kotori giggled a bit
"I'll take her to her room, Honoka you also get some rest!"
Kotori proceeded to drag Hanayo towards her room-as just as much as Honoka-she was tired too.
"arugh there's nothing to do around this time.."
Honoka then noticed from the lobby of the resort through the glass doors that the moon was shockingly huge, she decided to go on a nightly beach walk.
The beach was quiet save only for the sand crunching under Honoka and the waves crashing against the shore, the wind clear and salty blew through Honoka's hair. The sky was clear full of stars it was truly beautiful... this is the one thing that made it worth coming here every summer.
"Hm?.."
Honoka noticed a... blue haired lady on the beach, no one was ever around at this time, especially this far near the rocks. She walked closer and as she did, she could make out more of the features of this blue haired woman. She had a slimmer face and looked to be around Honoka's age, Honoka stood starstruck... this feeling new, as if plucked off of her feet she flushed.
'H-Hello?"
She called out, but in response the blue haired lady quickly turned towards Honoka, with a revolting shocking face. Her pricing golden eyes bore into Honoka, before just as quickly she turned, she jumped into the ocean. Honoka swore she saw a tail of sorts, shiny but more specifically scaly.

Honoka stood dumbfounded, before finally coming to the realization.
"Wait..."
She started running towards where the blue haired maiden sat, this couldn't be real Honoka thought. But her legs were not listening to her brain, as she got to the spot she looked towards the sea, and it was deadly quiet not a thing out of place.
Honoka rubbed her eyes.
"Hehe.... I've really gone crazy working here,,"
Before Honoka left, she saw something beside her feet, a shell bracelet with many coral colors but the main center piece being the blue star shell shaped middle. Honoka grabbed the bracelet feeling this summer won't be as plain as the many before.
