Chapter Text
Marcy Wu didn’t consider herself to be an exceptional actress, yet here she was standing right in front of the door that led to the drama club. Now you might be wondering what someone like her is doing in a place like this, well the answer is easy but to understand we must go back to a few days earlier.
“Drama? I’m sorry miss do I have to-?” Marcy asked politely, trying to sound less annoyed as possible
“Yes you do, I’ve noticed most of your classes do not require a big social skill, and besides my brother teaches in the drama club, he’s a funny guy” The teacher, Miss Beatrice replied
“But that’s the point! I’m not good with social skills” the teenager replied in desperation
“Ah, everyone says that! You’re just a little shy, plus I've heard great things about the drama kids” the teacher said
“Okay..” Marcy agreed in defeat
Turns out drama kids were not the greatest people.
“I heard their leader is the one who set Mr.Tritonios hair on fire” a student whispered in the background
“Oh the Waybright kid?I heard she once made a new arrival cry in less than five minutes!” Their friend replied
“Great.” Marcy thought to herself, until a voice worth listening to brought her back to reality
“Don’t be dramatic you guys, Sasha can be a bit mean but she is not THAT mean” Marcy turned around and recognized the person, it was the captain of the tennis team, she didn’t exactly know her name but she attended a few games out of boredom.
“Ooooo Anne! Didn’t you and Sasha use to date back in middle school?” One of the two kids replied
“Can we not?” Anne bit back sounding more distant than before
The conversation died down after that
Or so she thought
When the bell rang for lunch break, the same Anne that was talking to those people tapped her shoulder
“So, I’m assuming you’re gonna join the drama club?”
Marcy looked up at her, god she was pretty, no Marcy focus!
“Uhhh- yes??? I think”
“Good! Why don’t you join our table? Ah don’t worry Sasha doesn’t sit with us”
“Who’s Sasha?” Marcy asked with confusion
“I’d rather you not find it out this early” Anne giggled and dragged Marcy down to the caffetteria
The caffetteria was a minefield for drama, if something happened there it would be the talk of the school, Marcy would know, she tripped once and her lunch fell all over a student, it was the talk of the school for days.
So it wasn’t a surprise when she heard the kids start to whisper when she entered the
cafeteria with Anne.
She paid no mind to it, she wasn’t really all that into the whole “school gossip” thing, she just wanted to chill and have a year with, mostly perfect grades, that wasn’t too hard of a task!
Marcy was snapped out of her thoughts as she reached the table, she usually ate lunch in class after the accident so this was new.
Anne spoke up shortly after their arrival
“You guys meet our new arrival! Her name is- uh- sorry what’s your name?”
“Marcy- my name’s Marcy Wu”
“This is Marcy!” Anne said pointing at Marcy
The group at the table waved not looking up from what they were doing
“And this is Sprig, Polly and Maddie” Anne said pointing at each of them
“It’s nice to meet you?” Marcy said awkwardly
Polly and Maddie weren’t too interested, one had pale skin with a very dark looking outfit, honestly? A cool look in Marcy’s opinion. The shorter one looked a lot like Anne! Tan skin same eye shape- except her hair was a shiny orange! Oh and she was short.
Like really short.
They both were minding their own business, the shorter one was fidgeting with a.. robotic looking thing, while the paler one was reading a CYNTHIA COVEN BOOK-! if Marcy wasn’t so awkward she would have totally went on a ramble about it.
That wasn’t all though, a boy that looked similar to Anne and.. Polly? That was looking at her up and down
“Anne- are you sure about this- no offense” said boy spoke up
“Relax Sprig! She’s kind of stuck with us- she needs drama for extra credit” Anne said punching his shoulder, Marcy stood awkwardly with a lunch tray in her hands
“If you say so” Sprig said making threatening eye contact towards Marcy
Marcy wants to run off so badly, except that would be social sucide.
“C'mon take a seat!” Anne said with enthusiasm
Lunch was very awkward- It was mostly Anne trying to start a conversation with poor results
But when Marcy thought all hope was lost. she decided to take the first move before the bell rang
She spoke up in Maddie's direction
"I uhm- like your Cyntha coven book" Marcy said in her best totally-not-akward tone
At that, Maddie looked up
"YOU know Cynthia Coven?"
Marcy nods quickly
"I feel like a beautiful friendship Is about to begin" Maddie said with a grin
The days after that were a little brighter, Anne and Maddie were actually very cool, Sprig and Polly had been a bit more closed off, She had learned they were Anne's younger siblings
Which actually made a lot of sense.
And now here she was a few days later about to enter the door that led to the auditorium, where her drama club meetings would take place
But as she tried to reach for the handle she heard a loud voice, a very loud voice
"UGH ANNE I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU!" the voice yelled
Another voice replied , It was too quiet to hear.
"YOU CAN'T QUIT-" the louder one replied
Marcy's curiosity took the best of her as she entered the room quietly
"Sash- I'm the captain now! Drama was your idea-" Anne sat at the end of the stage looking up to the person standing over her
Said person, from context clues, had to be Sasha
Oh snap they were fighting, Marcy was not meant to be here what was she thinking!
As she tried to exit, she fell on the ground causing a loud thud
Crap.
