Work Text:
The sun filtered through the small gaps the shudders left open into the room, small golden stripes lining Ghost’s and Soap’s bodies on the bed. Ghost was woken up by the light in his eyes and the warmth, instantly groaning his sleep away as he turned to face his bed companion with a fond smile.
As he swept stray hairs from Soap’s slightly overgrown mohawk he admired his husband’s face, peacefully sleeping, his lashes resting delicately on his cheeks, his plush lips slightly parted to breathe. All of him bathed in the golden light of the morning sun that made the already beautiful man a masterpiece that Ghost thought belonged in the finest of art galleries.
Moving slowly, careful not to wake Soap up from his peaceful sleep with any sudden movements, Ghost gently kissed his face, the soft skin always a welcome contrast against his scarred and rough lips. He kept kissing him, his soft cheeks, his too often broken nose that healed crooked, all of his Johnny's face was peppered with soft reverent kisses before he felt a hand tangle in his hair.
“Feelin’ sappy today LT?” His laugh made his face light up without him noticing and, just as naturally, Simon leaned in to kiss him proper.
They stayed like that, just feeling each other’s lips, just existing and breathing the same air, eyes magnetizing to each other instantly. Ghost moved closer, caging the younger man under him as he held his weight on his elbows.
“I love you.” he said, partly to himself, as he admired the man under him as he blushed a soft red at the words. He rested his weight on him nuzzling on his shoulder hugging him closer to him.
“I love you too Simon” he wrapped his arms around his shoulders with a sigh guiding him to a lazy kiss with a hand on the back of his neck.
“Should we get up…?” Ghost asks as he kisses down to Soap’s neck not intending to leave the comfort of their shared bed even if he agreed.
The Scot hums “We’re on leave,” he whines with a laugh lifting his face so Ghost can kiss the space between his neck and shoulders better. “We can cuddle a bit more, can’t we?”
“Keeping a routine is important, Sergeant.” he rose to look at him speaking in a playful tone with the grin to match.
Soap laughs pulling him down by the shoulders letting out a small “oof” as Ghost’s entire weight was put onto his body “I prefer this routine, last time I checked, vacations are supposed to be relaxin’”
And who was Ghost to disagree with that? With a dramatic sigh of defeat he moved so both of them were comfortable and closed his eyes “Then let’s go back to sleep Johnny”
“Yessir…!” he smiled as he played with the curly strands of his hair watching as Ghost’s breathing steadied as he drifted to sleep.
