Chapter 1: Episode 1

Chapter Text

Xisuma met Dream years ago, they almost immediately fell in love. Both of them in a way wore masks but in private, they would remove their masks. Dream wore a white mask that covered his whole face, it had a simple smiley face on it. While Xisuma wore a whole metal armour suit, and the only part of his face you could see was his eyes through a purple visor on his helmet. Why did he wear the suit? No one really knows except for Dream and his best friend Keralis. Today was going to be a wonderful day. Dream had taken Xisuma into a private world, so it could be just them and all the mobs that would spawn into the world. Together they built a simple home, eventually they'll improve on it, but for now it’ll be simple.

“Tired of sneaking into hermitcraft and finally wanting me all to yourself?” Xisuma joked. They were sitting outside as the sun began to set, creating a glow around them.

“Yes.” Dream replied seriously, Xisuma glanced over to Dream with a half smile.

“Yeah, That’s understandable.” Xisuma looked away from Dream. He felt as Dream grabbed his hand to hold, he couldn’t help the smile that appeared on his face. The blond man moved to sit closer to him, Xisuma looked away from the sunset to look at Dream. He saw as Dream’s eyes flicked down to his lips for a second. Dream slowly leaned closer into him before Xisuma was going to ask something.

“Can I kis-” Xisuma didn’t get to finish his question before Dream leaned over and sealed their lips in a kiss.

“You’re the best ever, X.” Dream told him.

“Thank you, love.” Xisuma smiled. Whatever time they could get, they spent together in that private world, just the two of them.

It was no surprise that Dream and Xisuma had a beautiful wedding day. It took a lot of convincing for Dream to agree to have the wedding on Hermitcraft. For the day, anyone Dream wanted to invite would be allowed on Hermitcraft. Xisuma got his friends and Dream got his, they were both happy. As soon as the whole wedding was over, Dream and Xisuma left for their world. Over the next month, they’d stay there together in peace, and would do newly-wed activities. Such as watching tv shows together, they had binged the whole series of ‘The Super Kawaii Crystal Princess Love~Love Angel Cookie Mew Mew Chan Show’ and cooked together of course. They also built onto their shared house. Everything was peaceful, until they had their first fight. It was right at the end of the month. Something came up on Hermitcraft, and it needed to be fixed.

“Dream, it will only take a few seconds.” Xisuma told Dream.

“It’s like you love that dumb server more than you do me! Who do you love more? Me or your so-called friends?” Dream angrily questioned.

“Please don’t ask that, dear.” Xisuma pleaded.

“No. Answer me!” Dream demanded an answer from Xisuma. Xisuma looked away for a split second.

“I love you more than them. You have all my love.” Xisuma said. Dream’s anger just disappeared in a snap. Dream kissed Xisuma’s cheeks.

“Good. They can deal with problems on their own.” Dream smiled before walking away.

“Where are you going?” Xisuma asked as Dream opened the front door. Dream just rolled his eyes and scoffed.

“I’m going to see my friends.” Dream said before leaving, slamming the door behind him. Xisuma couldn’t believe what he just heard. He couldn’t visit his very popular and needing help world, but Dream could go see his friends. It just seemed unfair. Xisuma made sure that Dream was actually gone before he left to go to Hermitcraft. He quickly fixed the problem and hurried back to his and his husband’s private world. Lucky for him, Dream wasn’t back yet. Xisuma grabbed a book from one of the bookshelves and sat down to read. It wasn’t long after Xisuma went to sleep that Dream finally came home.

This would happen a few more times. Their next bad argument would be on Hermitcraft. Xisuma was just finishing up a trade with Keralis when Dream demanded to be let into Hermitcraft to be there with him. Dream arrived at where Xisuma was as he was finishing his trade with his friend. Xisuma gave the shulker box of items to Keralis and Keralis gave him the diamonds.

“Keralis, these are two stacks of diamonds. This is far too much, I only asked for half a stack.” Xisuma looked at the diamonds then back at Keralis. His friend just smiled.

“Oh Shashwammy, the extra is just a gift that you deserve.” Keralis told him.

“Thanks Keralis.” Xisuma smiled, not that anyone saw it, but the smile was there.

“It’s no problem, sweet face.” Keralis winked as he picked up the shulker and walked away. Xisuma stored the diamonds in his inventory, then turned his attention to Dream. Oh boy, Dream seemed very upset even as he was wearing the mask.

“I’m sorry, love. Keralis is leaving for a vacation and I needed to do that trade before he left.” Xisuma explained to Dream. Dream didn’t seem to care as he just crossed his arms, he seemed to be really upset.

“I don’t like him. Do you like him? Are you in love with him? Are you planning to leave me for him?” Dream questioned, getting angrier with each question. Xisuma looked visibly confused, he didn’t get what happened. Oh, right.

“Dream, is this about Keralis calling me Shashwammy and sweet face?” He asked.

“Yes!” Dream shouted, causing Xisuma to slightly flinch. “Oh, I’m sorry babe. It’s just that you're mine, and… I don’t like men flirting with a taken man.” Dream told Xisuma, with a calmer tone. Xisuma just nodded, he gets that.

“You know, he calls everyone princess and sweet face. Keralis barely calls anyone by their real name, he has nicknames for everyone.” He tried to explain to Dream.

“Well, not for you. He will only call you Xisuma and nothing else.” Dream hotly spoke. Xisuma knew he shouldn’t argue and just said ‘okay’. Xisuma left to work on his Hermitcraft base, Dream followed.

He had noticed that Dream got upset at his friends for calling Xisuma by anything other than his actual name; but when Sapnap or George said something about Xisuma or even called him a nickname, it was a “joke” and it was “funny”. It had been nearly a year since they got married. He noticed that Dream had started to seem a bit distant. Xisuma just couldn’t just leave Dream, after all, Dream still loved him. He knew that. Or at least he thought he did…

Xisuma set down some blocks and sighed. “Have you thought that he might be cheating?” Mumbo suddenly said.

“What?!” Xisuma exclaimed loudly, turning to Mumbo. Dream would never, Xisuma had to stay firm in those beliefs or their marriage would fail. Mumbo had come to help him with a redstone project, and now he’s accusing Xisuma’s husband of cheating?!

“I’m just saying– Oh! That should be a repeater.” Mumbo said getting distracted with his work as he walked off to fix something. Dream would never cheat, he repeated in his head like a mantra. If Dream got so mad at the idea of Xisuma cheating, Dream could never ever cheat.

Xisuma left for their private world and Dream was already there. “Hello, Love.” Xisuma smiled. Dream smiled back.

“Remove that suit and come join me in watching a movie.” Dream said. He was sounding so sweet at that moment. Xisuma just nodded and came back once the suit was gone. He sat down on the couch beside Dream. After turning on the movie, Dream pulled Xisuma into his side, leaning his head on Xisuma's shoulder. He sighed out in content. At times like this, he believed that Dream still really did love him.

It has been three, going on four whole years since Xisuma married Dream. Dream realised he was in the wrong and worked to become better. However, in the last couple of months, Dream started acting in the old, controlling way again. They could be cooking or watching a movie together when suddenly Dream would get a message, and he said it was important and that he needed to leave now. However, if Xisuma needed to fix something important on Hermitcraft, Dream would get upset and would pout until Xisuma gave into his whining. He would just tell everyone he would get on later to fix it.

There came a day when Xisuma was coming back from a mining trip, they had improved the base so much by now. The only logical step the two would take next would be to go to the end to kill the dragon. Xisuma looked up to the sky, to try and see the sun through the trees. He saw two people fly by. Wait, flying? Two people? Xisuma quickly followed after them, for a moment Xisuma thought he saw Dream. Finally, the two people landed, right in front of their base. One of the people was Dream! Dream had an elytra! And so did this random guy he’s never seen before!

“Thanks for helping me get an elytra.” The guy said.

“Oh, it’s no problem. Anything for you.” Dream smiled. Xisuma watched as the two had little conversation. Xisuma stepped back to hide himself from view, and started to hum. He’d act as if he saw nothing.

Xisuma got closer to their base and once he reached it, the guy was gone and Dream was there alone. “Nice to see you outside, dear.” Xisuma smiled.

“I saw our crop farm needed a little tending to, so I did.” Dream said, and Xisuma slowly nodded. Liar. He’s such a liar. I saw him with another man. We don’t even have to worry about our crop farm! I made it into an automated farm so we could relax and not worry about it. DISTRUSTFUL LIAR! LIAR LIAR LIAR-

“Xisuma?” Dream questioned, getting him out of his own thoughts. Xisuma shook his head and looked at Dream. “Just making sure you’re alive, you’ve been staring at that chest and doing nothing.” Dream continued. Xisuma dumped the items he had into the chest.

“It’s nothing, I’m good.” Xisuma put on a fake smile. Dream just shrugged it off and walked away. For some reason, Xisuma just felt too uncomfortable in his very own home. “Dream! I’m going to Hermitcraft, I need to work on a new video!” Xisuma shouted to Dream, who was in a different room.

“Okay!” Dream shouted back, actually not caring this time. He left for Hermitcraft and checked if anyone was online. Keralis and Ren were both online. Xisuma met up with the two men.

“Heya friends. How's it going?” Xisuma asked.

“Wow, he’s come alone. It’s such a shocker.” Ren said sarcastically. Keralis elbowed him in the side which caused Ren to glare at him.

“So, Sha- Xisuma. What’s happening?” Keralis smiled, almost looking forced in nature. Xisuma bitterally frowned, he missed hearing Keralis calling him ‘Shashwammy’.

“I know it’s not a big deal but I just can’t believe that Dream snuck some random werewolf guy onto our world and went end busting with him.” Xisuma sighed sadly.

“A werewolf?!” Ren exclaimed. “What’s his name? What did he look like?” Ren questioned, shocked it was a werewolf. Xisuma thought back to the werewolf he saw.

“I never heard his name, but he wasn’t like you. His ears and tail didn’t match his hair colour. While he had dark blue ears and tail, his hair was black with a blue streak. Oh, and he had piercings in one ear.” Xisuma explained, Keralis looked very confused while Ren looked concerned and his shoulders had tensed up. .

“Stay away from that man. He is Bad. Oh, so very bad.” Ren sternly told him, then he just walked away, without saying another word.

“Ren’s weird.” Grian spoke up as he just appeared out of nowhere. They all agreed.

Xisuma did end up keeping to what he said he was going to do, and he worked on video, then left to go back to Dream.

“Oh, come on Dream. This movie is soooo dumb!” Xisuma heard someone complain.

“It’s almost over. Look, the credits are finally starting.” Dream said.

“Finally.” The other man groaned.

“Tonight was fun. Now get going before Xisuma comes back from his dumb server.” Dream said. Xisuma waited until he saw on his communicator that the man, by the name “Ein” apparently, had left to step into the room. He knew that Dream rarely ever checks his own communicator.

“Hey Dream.” Xisuma finally said with a slight strain in his voice. Dream stared at him for a moment.

“Come sit next to me.” Dream told him. He walked over and sat next to Dream on the couch. Xisuma shouldn’t have been as shocked, not at all, but he was still horrified. Dream took off his ring, then he put it in Xisuma’s hand. “From this moment on, we are no longer married. Now you can take your leave from this world.” Dream said. Xisuma was silent there for a moment, he just sat there and did nothing, processing the words that Dream, his husband, had just spoken to him. Well- ex-husband…

He had a plan. Xisuma brought up the code for the world and without saying anything at all, he banned Dream and everyone else who had ever stepped one foot on their- his world. It was easy to ban everyone because there were only four people. Xisuma got rid of the code screens. He looked at the ring still on his finger and the one in his hand, with a bitter feeling bubbling inside of him. Xisuma took his off and threw both rings across the room, the metal rings clinked around as they finally landed on the floor. They laid there sad, a symbol of their dead love. Xisuma put his head in his hands. He tried his best not to cry. He sort of saw this thing coming, Dream’s rising anger, the sneaking, lying and that new guy. In the end, he couldn’t help but cry. That was his once husband, after all. Once upon a time, he did love Dream and Dream loved him. At least he thought so.

Xisuma stayed there for a few weeks. He didn’t want to admit that he had laid on his couch crying for hours or how he’d walked around their once world just looking back on lost memories. It pained his heart to no end, how every sweet little memory turned bitter because of Dream. It was all his fault. Dream caused all this pain for Xisuma, he didn’t want Dream back but he did want to feel normal again.

When he finally did go back to Hermitcraft, his first thought was to visit Keralis. Xisuma walked to his old friend’s base. He didn’t have the courage to enter the base. He didn’t have to, because Keralis was walking towards him. Xisuma looked at the ground, “He left.” He said, his tone almost bitter.

“Oh, no, no.” Keralis opened his arms, inviting Xisuma into a hug. He hesitated for a moment, when was the last time he got a hug? Eventually he gave in and hugged Keralis, his hug was warm, it was perfect, it felt like home. Xisuma just rested his head on Keralis’s shoulder, melting into his hug, finally breaking into sobs. Keralis grabbed the back of Xisuma’s head, in a comforting manner. He tightly gripped onto Keralis hoping he wouldn’t fall to his knees. Xisuma hadn’t bothered putting on the metal suit, what was the point? “There, there Shashwammy.” Keralis softly said. “Don’t worry your pretty face about that horrible man anymore. Papa K will forever be here and take care of you.” Keralis comforted him. He couldn’t help but laugh, feeling lighter already. He stepped back and Looked at Keralis.

“You have such dumb yet funny nicknames for everyone.” Xisuma half smiled, this time genuinely happy, unlike his time with Dream. It felt good.

“You did not call my wonderful nicknames dumb!” Keralis gasped. He placed a hand over his heart and acted offended from his comment. Xisuma just snorted a laugh out.

“I’d never. Your nicknames are wonderful, I mean it.” Xisuma smiled.

“There we go! That wonderful laugh and smile from the great Shashwammy.” Keralis smiled. Xisuma just rolled his eyes and shook his head. But he still kept a smile on his face, he couldn’t wipe it off. Keralis was the best, he always knew how to cheer someone up. “If it would help. You tell Papa K all of your worries caused by that terrible man.” Keralis said and Xisuma agreed. He sat with Keralis, just complaining about Dream. All the things that Dream did seemed to bother Xisuma way more now that they were separated. Keralis just nodded and said a few things as Xisuma complained. Keralis let him spend the night at his base because Xisuma didn’t deserve to be alone during this time. He should have a close friend with him at all times. “Good night and sleep tight, Shashwammy.” Keralis told him, then Keralis’s lips feathered on Xisuma’s cheek pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. Xisuma was now 100% sure his cheeks were bright red because he felt like he was burning up. Even after more than 4 years of being with Dream, he rarely got hugs or even cuddles and barely any kisses. Dream would give his friends kisses on their cheeks all the time, but never to Xisuma. He went to sleep thinking of his friends, mainly Keralis who was stuck on his mind. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.
