    “No, yeah. I’m listening,” Eddie says into his phone. It’s pressed to his ear and his hand is wrapped around it tight enough to make his fingers cramp. He’s also lying. Eddie Brock is not listening. At all.

    Because Eddie Brock is very, very distracted.

    A tendril winds its way around his leg, high up on his inner thigh, stroking along the crease where his leg meets his hip, and he bites his lip to swallow the noise threatening to escape. It’s kind of hard to listen when that’s happening. The voice on the other end of line might as well be one of those trumpet adults from Peanuts.

    Venom distracts Eddie from a relatively important phone call, but Eddie doesn't really seem to mind.
