Work Text:
Doctors were running from door to door, banking orders at nurses.
A big chaos was made in hospital, just by one person.
------
His eyes were teary - probably because he didn't open them for such a long time. The celling was so bright, he had to close his eyes for a second, in order to look around the room after a few minutes.
It was a really plain place. White walls, grey furniture, the most eye-catching thing was the few chairs in the corner of his room.
The door suddenly opened and a nurse came in. She was carrying medicine in her arms (pills etc.).
When she saw him, she screamed and dropped the trial, and ran out of the room.
'What just happened?' - Kim Dokja thought to himself. Everything was so confusing.
What was he doing in hospital bed? Why there were many many drip lines attached to him?
After a few seconds, many doctors ran into his room.
They were saying something, but Kim Dokja couldn't make out the words tyat were coming out of their mouthe.
The Doctors suddenly disappeared. And he again, was left alone in this white room.
---
-How is he?- asked Han Sooyoung, waiting for news from Lee Seolhwa.
The whole kimcom was listening, hopimg for good news about their star.
Maybe not the whole kimcom was waiting..
When everyone was concentrated on what the Doctor had to say, Yoo Jonghyuk barged into room next to him, with a label "Patient 718. Do NOT enter."
"YOO JONGHYUK WAIT YOU STUPID BASTARD!" - was heard behind the protagonist, but he didn't care about that. He didn't care that some doctors were still in this room. All he cared about was this thin man, sitiing on top of the bed with a shit-eating smile on his face.
"I'm back Jonghyuk-ah "
His star was finally awake.
"Kim Dokja.." - said the regressor.
Not a second later, the whole kimcom saw Yoo Jonghyuk on his knees next to the bed, holding his companions hand.
"Dokja Hyung!! "
"Ahjussi!"
"Squid!"
"You suicidal BASTARD!"
"Heewon-ssi, please don't call Kim Dokja-ssi a bastard.."
"Welcome back Dokja-ssi"
Ah, now everyone is there.
While Kim Dokja's hips were occupied by kids, the adults sat around him, either holding his hand or hugging him. Their eyes were red and swollen from the tears, but no one commented on it.
Not even Han Sooyoung, who was known for sharp remarks.
"Kids, please. Get off of me.. my hips are starting to hurt. And come here Jonghyuk-ah. You've been kneeling for too long now" - Kim Dokja said while patting the bed, where he suggested the other man to sit.
Yoo Jonghyuk climbed the bed with the speed of light. Of course, he didn't sit on the spot that Kim Dokja suggested him.
Instead he decided to crush the smaller man with his weight while clinging to him like a little child.
"JONGH- " He wanted to scream but his lungs were being smashed by the protagonist.
"No."
"Jonghyuk please... get off me.."
"No. I waited long enough for you." - Regressor said while hugging him.
Kim Dokja didn't even know that this violent man, could be this gentle and sappy.
It felt so weird when they didn't fight or the man's touch wasn't rough (Probably Dokja would have been beaten up otherwise).
He wanted to push him off, yell at him or anything, but instead he pulled him even closer.
"I missed you too, Jonghyuk-ah"
Their lovely-dovely moment was stopped by teens, who were mad that their father figure was being "stolen" by the regressor.
-----
"So how long was I asleep?" - Kim Dokja asked while cradling his hand through Yoo Jonghyuk's hair. The man refused to leave his side even during his medical check up.
This sunfish bast- *cough*
"About 3 years" - Lee Seolhwa said while getting a stample of his blood.
Ah... So his kids are much older now.. WAIT, HE'S 31?!
"Are you okay Dokja-ssi? You're really pale." The woman asked upon seeing the man so scared and confused.
He quickly changed his expression.
"Yes, I'm fine"
"If you say so, Dokja-ssi. " - she said, still looking unsure but not prying.
"So, when will he be relased from hospital?" Asked the grumpy man, still having his head on his companion's lap.
"In about 3 months. He still needs to have some rehabilitations, because his muscles are weak after so much sleep, but otherwise he's completly heathy. " Lee Seolhwa said, smiling at the pair.
"He still will need to do check up's every now and then." She added.
The protagonist didn't bother to answer with his words, just nodded his head at him and clung thighter to his- now found- star.
-----
Kim Dokja was sitting, trying to catch his breath while the nurse was looking at him with pity in her eyes.
This was time for his daily rehab, and to be honest, he was startong to get sick of it. Every step felt like his legs were made out of thin air, but they also killing him after a few steps.
"I'm done for today..." he sighed heavily, while trying to get up.
"Should I help you?" Asked the nurse, looking at him with unsure expression.
"No. No need to help me. I can do it" Kim Dokja said and left the room.
Outside, there was Yoo Jonghyuk waiting for him.
His frown seemed to deepen when he saw Dokja walking alone, without any supervision. The man didn't say anything just walked over to smaller one and placed his hand under his knees, while the other supported the burnet's back (bridal style yk).
Because of sudden action, Kim Dokja let out a very manly *cough* squeak.
"YOO JONGHYUK, PUT ME DOWN! RIGHT NOW!" - yelled the poor man, while trying to get out of his companions grasp.
"Kim Dokja. Be quiet." - protagonist said calmly, cradling his reader closer to him. Even though he sent into the smaller man's direction a glare, it wasn't fiery. It was sharper than a glance, but too soft to be called a glare. If Dokja didn't know any better, he would've said that he was looking at him with adoration and fondness in his eyes.
------
Kim Dokja quickly got used to his life in hospital, though he couldn't say that he didn't miss his companions (even when they visited him almost everyday) and finally living his own life, without everyone worrying for his every step, move, word that came out of his mouth.
He really was grateful for their work and patience, but he was tired of being treated like he was about to disappear any second. (He understand the worry though, after all he left them for 3 years without confirmation that he will survive).
Reader didn't even realized, when the time has gone by and he had to return to his companions. His Kim Dokja's Company.
Everyone was so excited the whole day. The kids were running around trying to pack his things (even though he didn't have many), creating a big mess that was later cleaned up by Yoo Sangah. Bless her soul.
Yoo Jonghyuk didn't leave his side even for a second, acting like an overgrown puppy trialing after his master. Not that he minded.
Everything went smoothly. Except for part when they showed him his new room. The walls were light gray, while the furniture was mostly black and white.
'It must have costed a lot of coins..' - Kim Dokja thought, looking around.
"Why is this room so big?" - asked confused Kim Dokja.
"We want to give you the biggest room, so we can all sleep with you! Of course, not everyday because master will kill us otherwise!" - explained Lee Lihye with a grin on her face.
Kim Dokja looked at her with disbelief, but he realized she wasn't lying when he saw in the corner of his eye - a proud looking Yoo Jonghyuk.
"Are you serious?" - he asked, still unsure about this whole thing. - "Shouldn't this room be for Han Sooyoung or anyone else?" - he asked, but instead of a reply he got smacked on his head by Jung Heewon.
"Heewon-ssi!" - yelled Lee Hyunsung, who was just a second ago, clutching to the kids' hands.
"YOU DENSE BASTARD!" - she yelled and signed heavily adding - "This room was specially made for you, even the furniture. You are our everything. I can't be a good sword if my master is away for such a long time.."
"Jung Heewon..." - he said, closing the gap between them, hugging her. He never would have thought that she cared so much about him. - "I'm so, so sorry.."
Just a few seconds later the whole kimcom was clinging to each other in the middle of the biggest room in the whole building.
Even though they spent this night mostly crying, Kim Dokja felt like a happiest man alive.
