Chapter 1: Donnie’s Room👾

Chapter Text

“Hand me the screwdriver” Donnie shouted from underneath his machine, “the one with the purple handle”

“They’re all purple” I replied jokingly, hovering my hand over the various tools, “Philip or Flat-head driver”

“Hm, flat-head please” Donnie said, holding his hand out, “toss it here”

I picked up the flat-head driver and tossed it over my head, Donnie caught it mid-air with ease.

“Thanks,” Donnie said,

“No problemo” I chuckled, chucking myself onto the nearest chair, which happened to be his beanbag chair.

“Do y’know where Leo is?” Donnie asked, pulling himself from under the machine, “I need to pester him about my game console.”

I scoffed, “I bet you 10 bucks he misplaced it”.

“Oh my shell,” Donnie groaned, rolling his wrists, “I swear if he did”

I shook my head and whipped out my phone to play a game, Project Sekai. The rhythm game that needs both speed and accuracy work of the fingers. My finger flew across the screen as I played, getting lost in the song.

“What are you doing?” Donnie asked, peering over my shouler, “How do you-“

“Shh,” I said cutting him off, “talk after this round”.

Donnie grumped, and piled into his bed.

“AUGH!” I shouted, “Dang it! I missed the last note”.
I stood up from where I was sitting only to lie back down next to Donnie. I groaned deeply and tossed my phone to the Box Turtle.

“You try” I said,

“I dont even know the objective of this game” Donnie replied, picking up my phone.

I sat up.

“Its a timing game,” I explained, “just tap the with blocks that line up with this line here” I said, pointing to the screen.

“What?” Donnie asked confused, “All I heard was line, line, and block”

I couldn’t help but laugh, “Dee, listen!” I said pointing to the screen again, “Its a rhythm game, like piano titles”

The first notes blew by and Donatello managed to hit them.

“Then theres also hold notes,” I continued.

The long yellow notes appeared on the screen, the melody stringing out the last note.

“Now you flick upwards!” I said.
The Box-shelled turtle caught on quickly, he played through the 1st song without any difficulty.

“Well that was anticlimactic,” Donnie said, he sounded a bit disappointed, “thats it?”

“Try a different song,” I yawned, laying my head on Donnie’s shoulder.

“Alright” Donnie sighed, “after this I’m going to look for Leonardo”.

Donnie scrolled the the many songs, then pausing over a certain song that had a very familiar beat.

“Seriously?” I asked, “Miku?”

The turtle gasped, “How dare you? Hastune Miku is one of the best song artists put there” He retorted as he clicked play.

“No way!” I argued, “_____ is the best obviously”.
Donnie snorted as the game started.

“Woah, master?” I snorted, “Good luck with that”

“Thank you” Donnie retorted.

The turtle bobbed his head to the beat, hitting each note perfectly. When the song ended he handed my phone to me.

“Mic drop, full combo” Donnie said,

“Theres no what you just did that” I said in awe, taking back my phone.

“Well, I just did,”

“Whatever, watch me get a full combo”

“Can’t” Donnie replied, heading towards the door, “I gatta look for Leo first”

“Lemme tag along” I said, hopping off the bed.

“Catch up if you can~” Donnie said slyly as he put to fingers to his head and waved me off.

You’ve got to be kidding me, I thought as I raced over to the door, but when I peeked out, the purple, masked, turtle was no where in sight.
