1. Planet
Snake people originate from the Planet Anguis Locus, a scorching hot planet with an average temperature of around 35-37°C (95-98.6°F) though some evidence would suggest that the planet use to be much hotter and has somehow begun a cooling process to support life on the surface. Some theorize that this could be caused by the thickening of the atmosphere but it is widely believed that the current temperature of the planet is the original temperature with the hotter one being the result of interference by the Qu
The life form of Angius Locus is very unique they evolve to survive the heat of their sun you see, though the planet has cooled down to a manageable level for life forms to live in, during the summer the temperature will still be unbearable for many species (43-50°C or 107-122°F) as such many of them would evolve to either always live underground or to hibernate underground during the summer. This is of course not the case for every species some evolve a thick layer of mucus to absorb the sun's radiation while others choose to migrate away from the area where it is summer to an area where it is winter
Plant life does not exist in Angius-Locus as far as we know, the Qu did not create any vegetation on the planet or if they did it is most likely that those plants have gone extinct long before the snake people civilization came into existence. Instead, some organisms on the planet evolve a flap-like skin on their neck that is filled with Chlorophyll for photosynthesis and a complex stomach design to absorb nutrients out of the planet's nutrient-rich soil like a moving, breathing plant
2. History
For most of history, the Snake people lived in a small neatly packed communities with ten of thousands occupying an area of only a square kilometer. Disease outbreaks would devastate many of these communities. This caused the snake people to be fairly isolationist for most of history as only one ill person from outside can destroy their entire village due to a lack of immunity
The technological progression for the Snake people was slow and gradual because of their race's lack of interaction with each other but eventually, some communities figure out how to use the sun's heat to their advantage with the development of solar power. This discovery skyrocketed the snake people's civilization, they go from a poor agriculture-based civilization to a self-sustaining manufacturing powerhouse in only a few decades. This development however comes with a few setbacks, you see manufacturing take resources, resources that the snake people's small community land doesn't have but the unclaimed land throughout the planet do
The snake people rush to claim the barren land for themselves and along the way they come into conflict with one another. The attempt at a peaceful solution quickly breaks down turning the planet into one massive world war. The once-peaceful world was engulfed in flame as the snake people kill each other in mass. Propaganda speeches villainizing the enemy inspire the soldiers to war; rallied up by the speech they would spread a trail of blood and unimaginable atrocity along their path. Millions would lose their lives in the war and it's possible that the species could have gone extinct if no action were taken
When the war first started many people are excited and ready to defeat the evil that threaten their home, their leader scream in glorious speeches about their greatness and superiority over the enemy but as the war dragged on from month to year to decade these feelings began to flatter as the reality set in. Dishearted and exhausted the soldiers began to lay down their arms refusing their commander's call for attack some begin to rebel against their leader, massive civil war would destroy Agnius Locus's civilization even further they now not only fighting the enemy but among themselves too. Thankfully the war would come to an end shortly afterward and this was aided by oddly enough the Qu themselves
After many years of research, a group of snake people philologists manages to decipher the language of the Qu that was left behind in their ruin. Previously these ruins are thought to come from long-gone snake people civilizations but the writing inside told a different story, the story of the star people, the story of their ancestor. At first, what they found was kept a closely guarded secret but nothing can be kept secret forever. The story soon leaks out and the public began to panic; If the Qu have defeated their ancestors, what chance do they have against them? Suddenly a massive world war that has caused so much pain and suffering against their fellow man just doesn't make sense anymore. The ruler of each community would meet up again at the same place where peace was defeated and the reign of war begin, after many years of discussion, resolution, and compromise; The Great war that has gripped the world in its flame has come to an end. finally, after a decade of senseless bloodshed, Agnius Locus would know peace
3. Politic
Agnius-Locus contains many ideologies and governments from democracy to dictatorship, some of which were influenced by the star people's government system. The snake people live in separate a community like how we live in separate countries, these thousands of communities can be found dotted around the world their light can be seen from space like stars in the night sky. The community often doesn’t interact with each other only did so to support each other as was agreed upon in their alliance pact though these have begun to change as more and more community became interconnected
The snake people Global Alliance was formed with the goal of maintaining peace and supporting development through out Agnius Locus. Thousands of leaders would meet in the headquarters every year to discuss policy, form plans, solve conflicts, and support each other during a crisis. The headquarter stand on Latitude and Longitude 0,0 This location was chosen as a symbol of a centralized unified organization that holds no allegiance to any community but to the Snake people species as a whole and though the location was first an inhabited desert with time a city was built around the headquarter and now serve as an unofficial capital of Agnius Locus
4. Culture and believe
The snake people have a belief that emphasizes the importance of native land, a piece of culture that survive their isolationist past into the modern day. The community will often have a story of mythical guardian that protects them from danger. Some of the more famous guardians are the story of Primum Masculinum and Prima Femina ; According to legend, they are the spirit of the first snake people that choose to stay behind in the mortal world after their demise to look after their descendants and protect them from harm. Before the discoveries of bacteria and viruses, it is believed that Snake people are cursed by their guardians when they abandon their native land. This curse serves as an explanation of the mysterious illness that came following the foreign arrivals as such many Snake people would rather die in their birthplace than abandon it when disaster strikes
The snake people are often described as unwelcoming to the outsider and although this may be true the global alliance has begun to promote a more open-minded and welcoming way of thinking as a part of their policy, it has already worked wonder; more and more people would travel between communities to learn their culture, way of thinking or just for relaxation and many youths make friend from other communities through the usage of a network similar to our internet
The music of the snake people is very unique among the post-human. Their music is a wave of vibration that they would feel with their hand. However, This does not mean that they have no appreciation for other forms of music and once the second-human empire was established the music of their relative would be appreciated by a small nique group of snake people, noticeably a certain satyriac band group has gained notoriety among the snake people with millions of fan across the planet
Due to their specialized eyesight design by the Qu the snake people could only see a small section of the color spectrum in exchange for the ability to detect Infarate light. this causes the art of the snake people to often be described by their other human relatives as "lacking in color" and although that may be true art is often a matter of perspective and some post-human relatives would appreciate the art by the feeling of community and a sense of home it gives
5. Economy
Snake people try their hardest to make their community economy self-sustainable but that has proven to be rather difficult and a heavy burden on the growth of their planet as a whole as such the global alliance has been making an effort to encourage trade between communities with the goal to quadruple international trade by the end of this decade, Massive tubes were built connecting each community for safe travel. These underground tubes run throughout the planet just beneath the surface and would serve as the lifeblood of international trade. Admittedly the plan was still in its early stages with only a portion of the tubes being built so only the communities near the start of the tube can have access to international trade but it has already started to show results. Thousands of train vehicles were sent to trade with each other every week and the trend has shown that the number will continue to increase until the end of the tube construction
6. Language
Snake people’s underdeveloped vocal cord has difficulty creating a variety of sound causing obstacles in communication with each other through sound as such many Snake people civilization choose to communicate using various sign language. Although a snake people group that communicates using sound does exist their language is often quite primitive and hard to understand and most are capable of understanding the standard sign language that was used as a universal language across the entire planet anyway so it is not necessary to learn their language
7. Important holiday and festival
The snake people usually have their holidays and festivals separate from other communities and often only celebrate their holidays of course there are some foreigners living in the community that would celebrate their native festival but these are often small and rare to find though there is one festival that spread throughout every corner of Anguis Locus. I’m talking about the founding of the global alliance celebration
On the 36th of Mungdus millions of snakes, people would travel to Saltatio the unofficial capital city. There they would share their culture and way of life in their community with others they discuss politic, make friends, and have a great time! The festival has thousand of different booths and vendors that serve the traditional cuisine of their culture, tell the story of their people, and tell the philosophy of their beliefs all for a small fee of course
The global alliance members would celebrate the festivities with dinner inside the headquarters where they discuss the relations between themselves and the path moving forward and at the end of the night, each member of the global alliance would broadcast a message from the headquarters to all the snake people wishing them luck and a good year
